Qasim Ali Shah, a very well-known author and public speaker, has an extremely present onsite and online presence as a teacher, mentor and role model. He gives a surplus number of talks, naseeha and advices, especially on the topics pertaining to parenting, relationship, social issues and personal grooming. Qasim Ali Shah is the first born in his family, belonging to Gujrat. His full education was received in Lahore, and he spent his entire life in Lahore as well. In early years, Qasim's residence was in Gulshan Ravi, where he received his initial education from Pak Angels School, only to proceed to receive his college degree from Islamic College Sibilance and then proceeded to join UET for his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering. The one path that changed his entire trajectory and showed an illuminating light to him and was teaching. He started teaching when he was 18, in his 2nd year, after being impressed by his own teacher [Ustaad]. Walking, breathing and beautiful role models for Qasim Ali Shah were none other than his own teachers. Not only did they have command over their lessons and accurate planning strategies, the one thing that won Qasim over was their exceptional and applaudable behaviour. His teacher, apart from the course they used to teach, would broach over the subjects of Islam, values, ethics, manners, motivation etc, and that truly opened a new pathway for Qasim, encouraging him and impressing him a lot along the way. His immediate love for teaching grew because of the immense respect, value and affection received by the right teachers.
After 2nd year of college, before admissions opened for UET, he had already started teaching all by himself, taking no help from organizations, institutions or any setup. Setting up two chairs from his dining room into the garage, he started his journey of teaching and spreading specks of education. His juniors were the first students that would come to him and the major problem that Qasim faced at that time was plucking up the courage to deal with the situation of tuition fee. It felt extremely uncomfortable to him when he let things flow on their own accord. If someone gave, he accepted, if someone didn't, he let it slide by. He understood and felt the love of teaching when he himself stepped into those shoes. Sincerity flowed through his veins as devotion overtook every other sense inculcated within him. He would order food and have lunch with his students together, arrange special events, pray together and would give them extra time, even till 12 in the late night if they ever needed him. Furthermore, Qasim had an immense love for reading, especially local literature, his favourite and esteemed inspiration being Ashfaq Ahmed Sahab, the well-known writer of "Zaaviya." and Bano Qudsia, along with a few others as well. Wasif Ali Wasif became another strong inspiration for him, who was a Sufi as well as an English teacher, working on the brains that would be the leaders of the society tomorrow.
Later, he started gaining knowledge of deen, reading the Quran with translation and started listening to Islamic scholars. Although he did face opposition in his love-oriented career journey, it never stopped Qasim from heartily pursuing it.
