Nashville and Eastern Railroad unit rock train NE01 is eastbound at Stewarts Ferry Pike in Donelson, Tennessee.
The NERR is the portion of the Tennessee Central Railway from Nashville to Monterey that was taken over originally by the L&N after the 1968 TC bankruptcy. The WeGo Star (formerly the Music City Star) operates commuter trains on this line between Lebanon and Nashville, and the Tennessee Central Railway Museum operates passenger excursions.
The SD70M locomotives, 2596 and 2620, are former NS locomotives.

The SD70Ms are the first EMDs assigned to the Nashville and Eastern Railroad, as NERR always had an all-GE fleet.

There were all GE for quite a while, but early on they had several CF7 locomotives, F units rebuilt by Santa Fe as hood units. They also had some Alco.
