When I watch this, I see a no-nonsense European woman who had to deal with the immaturity and childishness of American audiences. Some of the comments on here are no better. I find her absolutely posh and intelligent. Nothing like the culture she was thrown to when she made waves with Tess' some 4 years earlier. She's easily one of the best actresses of her generation, and has contributed wonderful to the business in her day. Hats off to her, and thanks so much for this upload. It's a great watch.
She is beautiful without doubt but I live in the same city as her abd when she was invited on a local tv show she accused the makeup lady of stealing her purse and was odious then when proved wrong and refused to apologize. There are darker sides to her personality.
She is shy and doesn't like personal questions-she is probably tired of having to field questions constantly about the men in her life, father, directors, boyfriends and how much she resembles other actresses. And tired of having to always look like she just stepped out of Vogue.
She was quite deliberate in her eccentric behavior in this interview! This was her way of saying "F$CK YOU" to puritanical American audiences-and also quite premeditated in triggering a reaction to gain publicity for herself...Beautiful and smart!
to be as normal as she is after being raised by someone like Klaus Kinski is remarkable. She is an amazing, intelligently well spoken person, and always has been gorgeous. It's a shame some of her films were duds, but, when they were really good...she was as well. Very well raised woman.
She was a beautiful, interesting person. Her eccentricity was inspired by her father. I can tell he abused her. Anyone involved in the entertainment industry you have to question & look deeper.
She had a very unstable upbringing, and her supposedly eccentric hairstyle is just a bit of hairspray and youthful exuberance. She is very well spoken, considering English is her 3rd or 4th language. Letterman should have asked her fewer questions about the men in her life. He was intimidated by her beauty.
It's sad that people let their personal positive feelings towards others blind them to the gravity of certain behaviors of those people. If I'd been her I'd have said, "I worked for him because my job said I had to, but I find his actions to be revolting." There's nothing wrong with judging people according to the things they've done to others even if they've done nothing to us. The majority of the hollywood people who'd like him back simply have the attitude, "Hey. He didn't rape my daughter."
@irondaddymac No, he is not. He is still in Switzerland. In Gstaad to be exact. Waiting for the swiss courts to decide whether he will be extradited to the US.
To whoever said that she "fucked Polanski when she was 15"--IT'S NOT TRUE! Please stop typing inaccurate information here. From all the interviews I've read on the internet, Kinski has repeatedly stated that she never had a love affair with Polanski in the past. But she loved Polanski because he took her seriously as an actress and he really cared about her as a person. She is definitely not a prostitute for Hollywood. Nastassja Kinski is an unique and very beautiful actress. Love her acting in "Tess" and "Paris, Texas"💗!
What is the difference between her hair during the filming of "Cat people, la Féline" and there? During it was the same year, they couldn't grow so fast, except for a wig! Anyway, i loved her and even now with her short black hair. Besides, I would have liked to know how the scar on his left cheek came to him?
I always thought she did this as a goof. I hope the things people say about her being abused isn't true. I've heard really bad things about Klaus and Roman but I try not to judge people I don't know and I don't know their stories.
I don't understand what's immoral about it. They're both happy being together so why do you let these meaningless rules and taboos get to you. Think about it biologically; she appeared naked in almost 4 films before she was 15, other countries are much less puritan and prude than America.
What was she supposed to say, considering she was still in showbiz and probably still dependent on his good graces to get future parts...? Really, what could a young, 21 year-old actress do for us in regard to judging a man of his fame and stature. It's a bit unfair for her for us to demand that she divulge what she knows or say what she really thinks of him.
Does anybody who behaves eccentrically have to be on a substance? Does it even matter if she was? She’s lovely. I find her quite relatable. I do have Aspergers and I’ve been accused of such things, but I just behave differently. I know this is an ancient comment, but it’s so harsh.
Andrea V Thank you! Anxiety is so painful. Especially the chronic “impending doom” type, the kind that is constantly terrorizing the afflicted person. Well, any manifestation of anxiety is horrid. I wish I could figure out how to make it stop!
