I'm here cause of ace of the diamond.. Really showed me a positive perspective of baseball... Man I feel like baseball is kinda fun to watch now because I've never really watched baseball coming to this anime... Now I'm into researching/watching these videos lol
+Nikeairon24 And I'm here because of "One Outs" ^^ I can really recommend this anime. It's just epic! I did not have any idea of baseball before and I did not know, if I would like it (I don't really like Sports anime), but this one is just great =O
Look at Alfredo Simon at 2:43. Dude starts walking off toward the dugout before the umpire even calls the strike. That's when you know you have confidence in your pitch.
I first got interested to baseball because of Ace of Diamond, now I can't stop watching these clips. Thought me some basics in a very entertaining way 😍😍😍
3:53 That IS nasty! And 2:10 is just a thing of beauty. If you do another of these you've GOT to get Phil Niekro's Knuckle Ball in there. That thing was unbelievable.
That nasty Chris Sale Slider though was just absolutely DIRTY circa 3:28. Wow what a pitch. That sweeping breaking ball though. I like how when Torii Hunter gave Sale that look, Sale just puts his face in his arm.
Love the announcers on the pitch at :46. Even on the replay they are droning on about minor league umpires. They sound like they are even boring themselves and can't be bothered watching the game. It's like they're commentating on paint drying.
Shut the fuck up you clearly don't understand commentating or announcing if you can conclude everything about them after 13 straight innings of commentating go back to lacrosse you stupid shit
I get that you can run out of things to talk about quickly, but that's exactly why when something like that pitch comes up, you need to be all over it. Those guys sounded like they weren't even watching the game.
Hey BronxBomber42 you’re awesome! I can’t imagine how much time and effort goes into making all of these compilation videos. I get a lot of entertainment out of them.
God I remember Roy Halladay when he was with the Jays. I'm a Yankee fan and he was such a pain in the ass whenever we faced him. Great pitcher with nasty stuff
+Victory Arceus As an addendum, Madison Bumgarner's breaking ball to strike out Billy Butler in Game 5 of the 2014 World Series. That one froze 'em good.
I know it's old, but Burt Blyleven's "Uncle Charlie" on the last pitch of the 1979 NLCS to buckle Dave Concepcion is the best curve ball I EVER seen. It should be added.
I wonder why Clayton doesn't get called for a balk more often? at 3:05 he using a delivery which is similar to Satchel Paige's "Hesitation Pitch" and he had to stop using it.
That Person Who Does Things They called it Satchel Paige and forced him to stop using his "Hesitation Pitch" which is EXACTLY what this delivery looks like.
Joseph Dungee He only does that when there aren’t runners on base. Watch a pitching compilation of him, he doesn’t windup when there are runners on base.
The year after his 24-4 season, I saw one of Gooden's early-season games. He threw a fast curveball that dropped *three feet*. I have never felt sorrier for a batter in my life.
+hdjsui It doesn't matter if he put his arm back. And yes, many pitchers take a step back first with their glove-side leg when pitching from the wind-up, as part of their pitching motion. That's legal from the wind-up. This guy is pitching from the stretch. Once you come set, you can't move your legs (or your torso for that matter) until you either a) step off the rubber, b) start your pitch, or b) start a pick-off throw to an occupied base. If you move a leg and then just stop without doing any of the above, that's a balk. The balk call is a thing of mystery for sure. I've seen nearly imperceptible flinches while set get called a balk. This guy by contrast is twitching like has Restless Leg Syndrome. It really doesn't get much more obvious than that and I can't figure out why none of the umps called it.
+HCM Larkins But everybody doesn't do it because it will almost certainly get called. I've seen barely imperceptible flinches called; this one was so blatant that it's hard to figure why none of the umps caught it.
I remember in the mid 80's Doc Gooden thru a 4 seam against the cubs (the wind blowing out) that rose a good foot and a half maybe more. It looked unhittable.
Great video! I could watch nasty stuff like that for hours n hours. Don Suttons 12-6 curve ball. Bob Gibson Game 1 of the '67 World Series (Gibson for that complete game had several pitches that made you say....HOW N HELL IS ANYONE SUPPOSED TO HIT THAT!!!) Sidenote on that Game 1 vs the Tigers is how NBC very smartly and very innovatively used the camera behind the catcher on several pitches to capture just how the ball moved and the difficulty Tim McCarver had in catching them. How 'bout Steve Carltons slider? BTW...the slider Chris Sale threw to Tori Hunter was down right nasty. Tim Wakefields knuckleball. If Wakefield was right, he could have had multiple no hit games. Outstanding video. We want more of these 'bro!
Wakefield is a legend. Pitchers don't get enough shine in the media. All lebron and mayweather. I get it they're awesome and talented. Pitchers need to step it up in the celeb world. Too talented to not be known by casuals
Halladay has the weirdest curveball. It doesn't have that much break, but it breaks so late the batter would have to see the spin to even know it's a curve.
