a great rendition of Nat Bhairav by Vasantrao. a radio recording , quite popular but didnt find this any where on you tube and hence decided to upload i have another one from a private concert will try to upload soon
I was fortunate to listen to this great rendition 34 years ago ! And I think it was more than a ritual to listen to it almost daily in the hostel days ! A small group of 6 of us was like a fan group of Vasantrao Deshpande! Finding it here was like a treasure !
Parmod Kulkarni: I had this recording on a spool tape which I had recorded from Radio when I was a kid. I must have heard it hundreds of times - as a kid I use to sing this bandish. Finding this here has made my day.
A rendition that I was so deeply attracted during my teen years in Hubli, on AIR Dharwad. Tried many years on Google to find the artiste with the words 'Ab More Baat....', was not lucky. Found this long lost jewel about 3 weeks ago and the feelings cannot be captured in words! The word 'ecstatic' doesn't fully express the state of mind. The combination of mastery of rendition by Dr.Deshpande, harmonium, tabla and the timely use of the another string instrument (don't know the name), is just out of this world! Can't stop shedding tears, being blown by the subtle, yet, powerful rendition. Cannot thank you enough, Keyur! Thanks.
It's a around 50 years old HMV LP RECORD actually, there are another Raga RAJ-KALYAN & DADRA ( बिंदिया ले गयी हमारी रे मछलीया ) also part of this LONG PLAY HMV RECORD which are very very excellent, listen once if you get. In this Record the accompanying artists are SHRI. NANA ( SHASHIKANT) MULYE on TABLA who is My Uncle actually & SHRI. GOVINDRAV PATWARDHAN on HARMONIUM.
Biographical movie "Me Vasantrao" is in theaters right now in Maharashtra. If you want to know more about this gem, go and watch this movie. It is full of songs. His grandson Rahul Deshpande has been cast for Vasantrao role
At last i found this rendition in my lifetime.... will remain gratful for this favor... This may not be so important for many but few can understand what it means to us...
All tabla artists accompanying classical vocal should look at Pt. Nana Mulay's rendition to this performance of Pt. Vasantrao as most ideal format of tabla accompaniment to classical vocal.
This recording is a studio recording that was on his LP or EP with Govindrao Patwardhan on harmonium and Mukund Kane on tabla. I must have heard this recording at least 100 times but never get tired of listening to it.
Totally out of this world..... it's always a treat to listen to Vasantraoji. I was so previlaged to see the Original "Katyaar Kaljaat Ghusli" Marathi drama at Gadkari Rangayatan Thane 38 years ago. Thankx to my father.....he actually cultivated this liking towards Indian classical music and therefore I learnt Tabla as well
Great rendering. Thanks for the upload. Btw, Nat Bhairav by Pt Vijay Koparkar (one of Dr Vasant Rao Deshpande's illustrious senior disciples) is also a gem. (Alurkar Music House, Pune)
Vijay Koparkar is my favorite and I am here after listening to his Nat Bhairav performance of the same khayal and chota khayal that Dr. Vasantrao Despande is singing
Very nice. ATTRACTS ME SINCE LAST 40 YEARS. ASTONISHING COMBINATION OF VOICE, NATURAL GIFT, HARMONIUM AND TABLA.... SALUTE TO SUCH GREAT PERSONALITY. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This is the way of Signing Nat Bhairav, amazing so many versions I heard but this one is different minimum 20 times from morning to night I listened, great sir ji
Thanks, for this Nat-bhairav, Vasantrao has sang beautifully & with a grace. I'm very fortunate that I was witnessed the same in Ichalkaranji, when I was just 15 yrs old. Shri P L & Kumarji were present in Audience. Beautiful.
An evergreen rendering a feelinh developed after listening it more than a dozen times. A nice and diplomatic appeal full of love to her priyakar/lover or the king about the viraha.
Despandeji' s wonderful rendition in his sweet voice is heart ' s pleasure. It is early morning now and in West Bengal I am listening this with heart's content.
I also heard this raga from the maestro about 40 years ago in a concert in Lucknow . Those were the days when concerts were also held during the day thus giving an opportunity to the artists to perform daytime Ragas . The memory of that concert is etched in my heart 💓🌹🙏
+swaroop mane The tabla player is Pt. Raghunath Nakod from Dharwad. The program was aired by Akashwani Dharwad. The 'session' also had raag Raj Kalyan - which I had heard on that radio station.
@@dhananjaygune No. Pl. The tabla is undoubtedly by Nana Mule. Yes it was being broadcasted by Dharwad radio which I also used to listen. In this record it is not Nakodji.
I request Mr. Bimalji and similar others , never to compare any artists with others. Such attempts are away from facts and conceptually wrong and also in taste.! This piece is brilliant, tuneful, charming and attractive and never dull for a moment.Highly intellectual presentation true to the intellectual prowess of Vasantrao over soor Laya taal raag ras and taan which he adorned with dignity and humility while alive. Why compare? Let us enjoy with gratitude to all artists. Dr Vidyadhar pandit
Undoubtedly Pt. Nana Mulye is accompanying on Tabla. There are two separate recordings of Nat-Bhairav rendered by Dr. Vasantrao ji. The other version has been accompanied by Shri. Mukund Kane.
when any body here this ,he must be fulfilled and reach the top of the roof where have only peace and quite and there have not reach any success ,any good ,any bad even any GOD OR DEMON ,,because there are all peace and Nat Bhairav - Vasantrao Deshpande
Keur Kurukar ji .............. A wonderful upload. This is a very old AIR Recording. I heard the original broadcast of this way back, perhaps in the year 1984. What a great accompaniment by Pdt. Nana Mulay ji, Also known as Shashi Kant Mulay. I was left mind - blown by both Vasant Rao Ji's singing and Nana Ji's 'sangat'. What a mind - blowing jodi. I happened to have met him also, just once in my life, in Delhi long time back, nearly some time after few years after the original broadcast of this recording. Among very few, Vasant Rao Ji is one of my great ideal. I have embibed a lot of inspiration from this particular recording / rendition. What wonderful 'laykarik sargums' rendered besides the 'taans'. Uffff .......... I don't know if you have heard his Marwa. A completely different Marwa ........ a restless Marwaa ...... Aisaa Marwa bhi kabhi nahi sunaa thaa. Koi andaazaa hi nahi thaa ki "Marwaa aisaa bhi gayaa Jaa saktaa hai". Uffff ........ Aap kay liye meraa bahut - bahut ❤❤❤❤
Aware of that, but I am *positive* this is the LP (Nana Mulye and Govind Patwardhan on tabla and harmonium respectively, flip side is Raj Kalyan and Dadra). The opening alaap, vistaar, etc. are *identical*.
