She attempted suicide TWICE before her 3rd and final attempt on 06 / 30 /95. Also, remember, her suicide was a week or so before her 46th birthday. Her manager said that her birthday could send her into a depressive state. Poor Phyllis had so many things stacked against her! A lot of people only saw her beauty and glamour, etc., and all the outward shallow things. But her inner life was in such a shambles, and she lived in an emotional typhoon. I saw her in Broadways' Sophisticated Ladies as well as her numerous appearances at; The Blue Note jazz club in NYC back in the day.
