In this episode we discuss what it is like to have the Moon in the sign of Capricorn.
This is a continuation of my Moon and Venus series, discussing the difficulties in the emotional nature of everyone through the feminine planets (Venus and the Moon), which uphold the all-important Water "Svadhisthana" Chakra.
The Moon is the planet that allows us to adapt on earth. The moon is exalted in Taurus because in Taurus, the Moon invites others to be a part of its adaptation - and thus, it doesn't need to "do it all by itself
The moon in Capricorn is still only 2 signs away from debilitation in Scorpio, so it can express with slightly debilitated, reserved, isolated qualities.
Since the moon has no enemies Saturn is technically neutral to the Moon; the "Reserve" accorded with this position usually seeks a good functional partnership. This can cause "delays" which are good or bad, mainly depending on other factors in the chart including the strength of Saturn, the 4th and 7th lord, and the overall capacity of the Moon to do what is supposed to do.
This position can stray from good relationships or stick to "seemingly functional ones" if there is a lack of Svadishtana chakra power in the chart (Venus and Moon strength).

Yay it’s my moon sign’s turn!! 😄🎉 This was very enlightening as to how (ironically) unproductive and inefficient this constant compulsive need for control and competence and fear of survival and the future can be and how this lunar ambition often comes from stress, insecurity, disconnection and fear instead of healthy ambitious desire. It often causes me to just shut down instead of actually establishing much tangible security, truly a working harder instead of smarter situation (I also blame my north node in cancer 12h 😆). Meditation truly helps tremendously to calm down and take life one step at a time and enjoy it. I’ve been very anxious lately, I have completely neglected my meditation routine, thanks for that reminder! It’s a cool position imo as long as we harness it and not drown in it. Awesome insight as always!

Cap moon here (balsamic waning)... and I really appreciate the space you created with the Vedic perspective in this video. For years learning my chart and astrology as a casual hobby, I always felt boxed in by these Western interpretations. When I was younger, I'd say much of the western descriptions and your band buddy experiences were true for me too, ha! However, as a mature 41 year old Aires rising, Aquarius Sun, Venus Cap with a Saturn conjunct Jupiter exaulted in Libra...your Vedic lens reinforces that my emotional evolution is not nor has it ever, been defined alone by this one, moon in Capricorn aspect. AND.. you'll be happy to know that after a very long, busy holiday season of work today, I am content and pleased to spend my down time in my pajamas, glass of wine in bed, watching your content. Rock on brother! 🖖💓

your vehicle prospector analogy is extremely accurate. I have capricorn moon conjunct my sun and mercury. that moon is directly conjunct midhaven at 21 degrees, which might have to do with why I am studying psychology. However, I don't want to do aspects of psychology that requires me engaging with people on a personal level so I might lean towards the academic aspects more.

Dustin, you are so amazing at explaining the archetypes of each sign. Both of my children have moon in Capricorn. My daughter has it in 1st house conjunct pluto and my son has Capricorn moon in 6th house square saturn. Me and my children are very very close, I am a single mother and work very hard to provide for them to feel safe and comfortable. They are very resilient emotionally however they do suffer from separation anxiety when it comes to me and they want to be with me at all times. Well done as always, you are one of the most sophisticated astrologers out here. Thank you 🙏🏻♥️

Dustin, let me tell you something jawdropingly interesting that I think relates to the topic of this video. My girlfriend has her moon in Capricorn in opposition to her Saturn in Cancer. I'm also a moon in Capricorn myself and a sun in scorpio. Unfortunately, we broke up with each other, but I'm doing my best to get her back simply because I can feel the effects of my moon in conjunction with her moon in Capricorn. We are very similar.

my ex was lunar Capricorn and the part about needing to date someone below them is so true….. when he broke up with me he wouldn’t tell me why, so then I logged into his Instagram (which is bad yes but I needed answers) and he sent a message to his friend about how he thought I was too good for him and that it makes him angry how people don’t like him as much as they like me…… I thought that was such an insane reason to break up with a person but I guess that’s just the nature of Capricorn moon. They need to feel better than their lover and can’t be happy otherwise. I guess it’s the inner insecurity, he thought I was above him and left before I could leave first. Very odd but it is what it is

My son has his moon and sun in Capricorn with a Cancer rising. He’s a unique mix of being emotional and serious. I’ve often heard this means the mother is unloving - not the case and maybe this shows in his chart as he has Jupiter in Libra in the 4th? He also has a inherit authority about him. Great talk! Very informative!

Loving means different thing to different people. A Cap and a Cap persons mother will think loving is providing material support. They think that is enough. Caps in general don't even understand the need for emotional love.

I outlined part of my chart on another one of your posts. I'm a Scorpio w/a Scorpio rising. I'm also a Capricorn moon which appears in my second house. The only part of your presentation I disagree with is that I feel comfortable w/people who are equal or below me. I believe I'm comfortable w/people who are equal or above me. My mom is a lawyer, and she could've been a doctor before she married my father. She's a very smart and accomplished woman. I also love and respect her as my mom. I have friend from college, who is also a lawyer. I have another friend who is a professor in Japan, another who is a teacher, who was also w/the Peace Corp and another, who is going to school for web design. Like my mom and friends, I have two college degrees but, for now, I'm a writer who is trying to get my career off the ground. I think they are financially and professionally in better shape than me and that's fine. I like being around people who are smarter and/or more accomplished than me because I think it reflects better on me. It's just my perspective as a Capricorn moon.

In vedic astrology I'm pisces sun cancer ascendant ashlesha nakshatra pada 3. Capricorn moon. My moon's nakshatra is in sravana. I have suffered all my life and I just want to heal this placement. I have a therapist but I need help in healing this. It's important and I want to have healthy and happy life. Please help

It is in detriment because the moon is emotional freedom, emotional flow and emotional intelligence. A capricorn cannot even comprehend the heed for an emotional life.
