Chuck is Nate’s best friend and he slept with Blair right after they broke up and they hooked up secretly behind his back. Chuck was being a bad friend to Nate, you don’t just hook up with your best friend’s ex without talking to them about it.
Actually it was 20 minutes when she arrived at Victrola and I believe the show at the bar to have lasted for several hours before the owner (Chuck Bass) took Blair home so not an hour or a week but inbetween 🤔👍
Adding to all the explanations of why Nate is a hypocrite, I want to say that not only she slept with Chuck after they broke up but also they broke up because Nate didn’t love her!!! Like you can’t compare that to he sleeping with Serena while they were together and “in love” .
But how is that Nate’s business when they had broken up already? Whatever your ex-partner does after you are broken up is THEIR business, not yours. Serena left after Nate and Serena had sex while Nate went back to Blair like nothing ever happened. I think this issue is purely sexist just because a woman they know is involved in a scandal that is supposed to be a queen bee. Turns out she is not so high and mighty after all.
Well, not that I ever wanted Blair and Nate to be together, but let's say, he is not that good, at least not for her, funny how he thinks he can sleep with Serena, and intend to kiss her again on the ball (while they are dating), but Blair couldn't be with Chuck, who really cares about her, plus, when they WEREN'T even dating. Like that was not enough, Nate didn't even bother calling on her birthday. I know right after chuck was hard on Blair, but seeing again, she hurt him before, not defending anything, just saying couldn't have any other end for the serie but, Chuck&Blair, both who actually were the only ones who grew up, and together, cause, Dan and Jenny were the good ones, well, seems it don't, just like majority of others characters. In the end, I love the series, but, what made me watch until the final were definitely Chuck and Blair, they were like, real.
Débora Cabral I think it’s more about how Nate told Blair the truth about sleeping with Serena, meanwhile Blair lied to his face and tried to pretend that she was the better person in their relationship. At least he was honest the whole time.
@Flowered Sentiments one problem is that they never let Serena grow. She kept going back to guys that clearly weren't good for her, especially Dan. Serena could have been a mature adult and there were moments when it really seemed like her character was developing and they chose to backtrack because the writers valued boring drama over good character arcs.
Megan MacGregor Serena and dan were so season one as well. I think they should’ve moved on for good after season 1. Maybe get back together one more time during season 2 but then move on for good after that, like Nate and Blair did.

Look I do think it's not the best thing to sleep with someone 20 minutes after u broke up but at least they were broken up. Nate slept with Serena when he and Blair were dating and tried to kiss her and tell her he was in love with her while he was dating Blair. Blair slept with Chuck when they weren't dating and she gave him another chance but he wouldn't do that for her. I love Nate now but man he was such a hyprocryte here
Plus I think she just wanted to find affection else where cz of the amount of time Nate rejected her. She was also hurt cz she found out he cheated on her when she slept w Chuck. Every time I see drama between Nate, Serena I always think she deserves better and needs an apology
Nate is in love with S and you can tell by the first episode, he even cheated on B with her. B slept with Chuck because she was alone and heartbroken and Chuck had feelings for her but never showed it because he knew Nate was with her. Remember when we all hated Chuck and loved Nate (ish) because of what they did in the first season, bet you're rethinking that now and realising the roles have switched.
Not really... Nate has never done anything nearly as bad a Chuck. He acted like any other stupid teenage boy. Chuck tried to sell Blair to his uncle and he pushed her and punched a window which resulted in her face getting cut.
@@jayaybee3047 Everyone does tend to ignore the fact that Chuck did hit on Blair pretty overtly even when she was with Nate. Making comments in 1x02 about playing a part in her deflowering and in 1x03 while in her bedroom making pretty direct advance about her bed and when she rejects him saying she could repay her another time. Based on the way Chuck was painted in the first few episodes of season 1 it did give the impression he definitely would have slept with her if given the opportunity, but that wasn't even a consideration for her. I will say he did seem to respect her enough not to force himself on her like he did Serena and Jenny in the pilot.

Everyone is missing the point! The reason why Nate was mad was because Blair was being hypocritical because she made him feel bad that he slept with Serena even though she slept with Chuck.

Dude ruined the right to be mad when he slept with her best friend multiple times while they were still dating. Blair Sleeping with Chuck after they've broken up is not a crime nor is it hypocritical. Especially since they broke up because Nate couldn't tell her he loved her.

Blair bent over backwards to get Nate to notice her when they were together. She was practically begging him to take an interest. He’s acting totally irrational, especially towards Chuck who’s probably been secretly in love with her since before the pilot.
Couldn't agree more! I hated the Batman voice he does season 2 on. It was an odd choice, that made the character feel to over exaggerated to feel like a real person.
