If it’s between one hour and not having a podcast obviously choose the former but man that’s disappointing news. The nateland community will refer to the 2 hour pods as the good ole days. Appreciate you guys!
I think the fact that we're all so disappointed about shorter episodes proves that Nateland is more of a community than just people who listen. We look forward to spending time here each week.
COVID restrictions don’t exist and Nate is now to famous and busy. Such is life but I hope he remember he will see the same people on his way back down.
I travel a large territory for my job and finding Nateland years ago after a horrible tradgey in our lives was such a blessing. Being alone in my truck made my mind go crazy some times but having Nateland on has always made those times better. I intentionally make Wednesday my long day so a couple hours of the drive is taken care of with you guys. Even on hard days, my wife says "just try to stay calm, pray, and listen to Nateland". I think you guys do a lot more than you realize.
I've just gone through something and these guys have at least saved my sanity if not my life. It's hard to find really funny stuff that's not full of ugly, which my heart didn't need.
2 hours is a lot for most people, except us insomniacs. I love laughing for 2 hours in the middle of the night! That being said, do what’s best for Nate & the Crew and we will be here to watch. Who can complain about free content???
So delightful to see our friends show up in our RU-vid in the middle of the night! But sad that the winds of change are blowing. One hour?? Please don’t take our Nateland away!
I refuse to support Netflix. So I'll catch clips on the RU-vid. Seems Dusty and all his personal preferences wouldn't do Netflix. Pagan vs perversion 🤷🏻♀️ I'll take pagan 💯. Side note, I found Nateland and Nate because I follow Dusty. So I'm a fan of Dusty and Like his style but Netflix will never get my attention.
@@TeresaO82 Way to fight against the man! Your name will be historical, just kidding. Chances are your lack of support for the top streaming service will go unnoticed and won't affect Netflix even a little. 😅
...if the episodes will be shorter (😢), please don't count the time used for ad reads as part of the actual podcast length for us!!! We all love you guys so much...I'll get over the time shorter change, I know. 😉... but help us have as much content with you all as possible!
I completely understand not having the time to do 2 hours I can tell you probably 95% of us want the longer podcast. BUT! Can we compromise and land on 90 minutes? :) Whatever you decide I'm just happy to have it every Wednesday morning on my long drive to work.
Please don't shorten the show! What would you take out?! The time given for rambling, on and off topic, is where the gold comes from! Don't worry if one of the team can't be there for a taping. Having one person missing changes the whole dynamic, and we see the others shine. Love you guys! Hey Bear for life!
Between no more nateland podcast and only an hour, we will take that hour always! Thanks for rememebering all the OG Folks and finding a way to keep this educational podcast going!
Never thought the podcast was too long! But I appreciate the gift it is, and that you still carve this time out for the Folks! I’m grateful that we can still look forward to the podcast every week; it brings a lot of fun! Congratulations on all the success you are having! It’s hard earned and well deserved. I’m very happy for you all.
I get your all busy but I hope you can go the 2 hours. When I first found the podcast I watched as many Episodes to catch up and was excited for the newer ones each week. I have had times I just missed hearing the fun of the 4 of you and went back to the first one again and catch up. I am on my 4th time watching the episodes plus each new one. I still find things I either forgot and thought so glad I heard again. Keep it going, please.
It’s hilarious seeing Aaron’s face turn red and going spineless in his chair when Nate makes him laugh. My thanks to each of you for this podcast & your comedy!
Thank you for tweaking the time if that’s what helps the show stick around. Yes, I enjoyed the longer episodes but I would take shorter over losing the show altogether!
I do imagine Nate is at a turning point where maybe he doesn’t need to give as much of his personal time away. It just seems like his joy is gone. I’m sure his team is wanting him to capitalize on this moment, but I think what makes the greats set apart is their ability to still remain human. I imagine with just this run of arenas, Nate would be set financially for life. I hope he can find the place where he realizes it isn’t all about the $$ or fame, but about the journey and relationships. His authenticity is what has made him stand out and I pray he doesn’t lose it!
“I hope iAm saying it wrong, I don’t care! iMight not even show up!” - Berenstain Bates crushes it again!!! Gotta love when Brian gets the one liners in
We're definitely going to miss the longer 'sodes but totally understand the scheduling conflicts and everything. Love you guys, keep up the great work! 👍🏼😁💕
If that’s the case then just let Aaron, Brian, & Dusty continue on with the podcast! I personally would rather have 2hrs of just them shooting the shiz each week than 1hr just so Nate shows up 😒😑
@@Courtney_Lorr I TOTALLY AGREE!! The 3 guys are so much looser and fun when Nate is gone- especially Aaron, I love how much he laughs in those episodes! I like Nate and enjoy his comedy, but there is definitely a lighter vibe when he's out
I’ve never been an addict, or so I thought, but I feel like I have the shakes from losing an hour of the podcast. The folks need to be slowly weaned off! This is what going cold turkey must feel like. I need to find a support group!
Only exists because Nate couldn’t perform due to COVID. I don’t think he’s connecting the dots between the podcast and arena tour. It wasn’t just his specials.
@Bob_Smith19 Have you been to one of his shows on the arena tour? He has Hello, folks and Hey Bear all over. I think he understands the podcast has contributed to the road success or that wouldn't be the case.
I give ya’lls praise every time podcasts come up in conversation. They’re surprised at my recommendation because my go to comedy is more…edgy. Funny is funny and I haven’t missed an episode for 2 years.
Hey gang! Dont feel pressured to produce more content. You already give us all this joy for free and we can always go back and listen to previous episodes if we want more. You guys are great; thanks for all the laughs!!!
When Dusty apologized to Aaron about the gutter. They’re all friends, but respectful towards each other and still learning each other. Love that. Just cool to see
I’m amazed that these FOAKS have been able to sustain a regular weekly schedule for Nateland. Their schedules must be insane. Come on y’all - let’s be grateful for this weekly gathering!
2 to 2 1/2 hours is perfect. Don’t mess with what’s working. It gives time for general updates which helps us feel like we know you more than just your jokes followed by connecting with the folks during the reading and responding to comments from the prior week. You can’t cut much time from the current weekend topic since you generally only have about 15 minutes of relevant topic conversation as it is.
Aaron being in disbelief that "hot hands" technology isn't more common is something i have felt. I remember years ago you could find soup in a can and warm drinks that had the warmer in the bottom. In some Asian countries they use a different self warming system for food that you just have to ad water and it creates a ton of heat for cooking all kinds of interesting meals. Also 2 hours is way better than an hour!
Only 1 hour?! Say it ain’t so! 😢 I agree with those commenting that it’s time to turn the second hour into “Aaronland”. Love the podcast. Thank you for keeping it going. We appreciate you guys! ❤
A friend of mine is a pastor of a small church in Upstate New York that counts 17 ordained preachers in the congregation. Some retired but most burned out with their congregations. A big problem. I shared with him your bit on books, history, and Pearl Harbor. He laughed a lot at my feeble attempt but recognized that humor could be a very useful tool, especially with broken hearts. Thank you.
I am happy to watch this podcast each Wednesday, no matter how long or how short the podcast is. Wednesday is my "Must-see RU-vid Nateland podcast" day! Thank you, gentlemen!
The journey from Aaron eating an apple next to a tree with a pocket knife to "nature's butter" is why this podcast brings me such joy. That little twinkle in Nate's eye when he gets an idea and the riffing that ensues is what brings me back every week. Let the good times roll.
Nate, I’m sure your schedule is crazy right now and I’m trying to be understanding but I can’t help but be disappointed about the shorter episode announcement. You will be hard pressed to find a folk that is not. You guys make our Wednesdays so much better!
Hey Bear! We do understand y'alls lives are getting busier, but this one did feel rushed. I like the suggestions for a 90 minute episde, but if it can only be an hour, the OG Folks would definitely rather that, than nothing!! It is the highlight of our week!! We would not all still be here if we did not thoroughly enjoy the whole 2 hours!! Love you guys!! Keep up the great work!! See you on the road soon!!
From the outside looking in the shift to one hour podcasts is due to Nate’s schedule. He’s been checked out for awhile now. Seems like it’s now a burden for him.
Please keep the content at 2 hours for us plain Folks. Any shorter would be less comprehensive plus you have fill in guests when one of you four is absent and i like to hear more than a sound bite. Chad Folk Ottawa Ontario
Noooooooo!! Say it isn’t so! It’s exciting that y’all are busy and are scheduling a lot, but PLEASE keep the pods at 2 hours! Possible compromise: do 1 hour with all 4 of you, and if 1 needs to leave, the 3 remaining can do the 2nd hour. Or, record a couple of 1 hour pods to have as back-ups when needed, but still do 2 hour on a weekly basis? Sorry to micro-manage, just desperate to convey how much your fans enjoy the pods as they are! 😊
An hour?? Truly a solution to a problem no one had! I was just getting ready to suggest maybe add an hour per episode! All joking aside, I get it and can’t knock it. You all have family’s. Keep up the work gents
I do get that the guys are very busy and that having the episodes only be an hour would make it easier, but I also really look forward to having this two hour podcast to listen to every week. It has honestly become one of the consistent highlights of my week.
I’m a long time listener of the podcast so of course I was so stoked to learn that Nate’s tour was coming to my city of Portland, OR! Unfortunately due to a knee injury, it would’ve been almost impossible for me to go up and down those stairs at Moda Center, so I wasn’t able to make it. I’ve been such a huge Nate fan even before the podcast and I’m truly so upset I didn’t get to see him live. I’m a huge fan of stand up comedy in general and this show has been so informative on what goes on behind the scenes and the amount of work that goes in before you guys even hit the stage. Thank you, THANK YOU for all the laughs guys, I hope to see each and every one of you perform if you ever come to the Portland area! PS: it would be an honor to hear Nate try to say my last name; it’s pronounced oh-care-ray-kay (I’m first generation Nigerian/Cameroonian).
Man, this is sad news. The 2 hour format really made this podcast unique… 1 hour for comments/catching up and 1 hour for the topic of the week! I understand scheduling needs but I’ll truly miss the good old days. Goodbye Cassowary 🥲
I've been following Nate when and where I can for 1.5 years or so. This is not only my first Nateland podcast I've heard but my first ever podcast I've heard. I just have never been into the whole podcast world. I heard buzz about Nateland for a couple of months but finally took the time to look it up. I thought 1 hour is perfect. You guys have stuff to do, so do I and we gotta move on for the day. Enjoyed my first watch and will be catching all of them I can.
Hello folks. My job requires one really long commute per week of about 2:15 round-trip. I loved listening to nateland before and after work on the day of my long drive. The nateland community is ecstatic that the fellas keep increasing in popularity but as they are pulled in more directions the time they have available for the pod will get less and less. If they could squeeze in a 2 hour conversation each week, it would be great for the fan base. The length of this podcast and sense of community including the longer comment reads are what sets it apart. It's more like a call in radio show on delay. Can't expect too heavy a lift from the fab four of clean comedy, but longer episodes are the best.
I was prepared to get used to a shorter podcast but you made my week with this announcement. Thanks for listening to your fans. You guys all rock and are loved. Hey Bear
I've been a listener since episode 1, but I'm not really much of a commenter...on anything. However, I couldn't help myself now that I know the shorter episodes weren't just flukes. One hour is barely enough time for the group to reach a consensus on how to pronounce a commenter's name, let alone read ads, provide appearance details, and...oh yeah...cover a topic of any kind. I don't like the rushed feeling...Nate (and the whole gang) would still be funny if he sped up his onstage act...but it wouldn't allow the audience time to savor the fun. That's how this episode felt...rushed and a bit more formulaic than I think you intended. PLEASE switch back!
I love being a fly on the wall on the Nateland podcast and will take whatever amount of time I can get. My Spotify wrap up for 2023 told me I was a top 2% listener! You guys help me get through my car rides, cleaning my dance studio or just letting my mind wander and destress. I just start over when I get to the end and the laughs keep coming. Congrats to Dusty on the special and I can't wait to see you and Aaron when you come to Michigan this spring!
Most podcasts are an hour, but not most comedians podcasts. YMH (Segura) mostly 1:45, Burr's most go 2:00 some shorter, WTF (Maron) 1:30, Theo Von's 1:30 to over 2. I could list 15 more comedians. None of them run an hour. When you get so used to something and it gets taken away, there's always a let down. Oh well, like everything else in this world, it either costs more or they give you less. in this case it's less but the true fans will deal with it. See you in Orlando next month. A true fan.
Nate saying Dusty still looks like he is into NASCAR was so smooth. He did not even crack a smile that it made me laugh even harder. Which is the reason this podcast is my number 1 go to! Also great special Dusty! Hoping my husband and I can catch a show soon!
Hello. This is my first time commenting (yay!). I LOVE the podcast and never miss an episode. My favorite part is when Nate reads the comments and tries to pronounce the names correctly. I think it would be so funny and entertaining to do a compilation of Nate mispronouncing names. Just a thought!
To be honest I was actually shocked when I first started listening to the podcast that it is was 2 hours long. It's a great listen while I work and will miss the extra time. Big fan and always look forward to the laughs from each episode. I recently visited South Dakota's Bear Country driving through the park seeing bear after bear I couldn't help but say Hey Bear to everyone of them. I'm sure my family appreciated the constant Hey Bears.
I can’t stand anyone complaining about the shorter episode. I appreciate any time y’all can give to the podcast and completely understand why it is the optimal option. Y’all are great and no worries on the shortened format!
It’s the beginning of the end. First they miss a week, now they are shortening episodes, openly talking about batching and scheduling. Goodbye, Nateland. It was great. Enjoy your theater dates. 😢😢😢 /s
Yeah, when something that’s originally just for fun turns into a job then it’s only a matter of time until burnout and disconnect sets in. But, it was fun while it lasted.
1 hour episodes? The most watched podcast in the world usually goes 3 hours. Also RU-vid keeps track of watch hours and puts them in order on our subscription pages. Kill Tony, Theo, Matt&Shane and YMH are all ahead of nateland now. Shorter episodes will only make yall fall farther. But I’ll watch either way. Side note. Yall should come to Louisville more often.
Shorter length outs them up against Are You Garbage, Two Bears One Cave, We Might Be Drunk and many other great podcasts. It’s going to hurt everyone’s ticket sales longterm.
Funny to hear Dusty talking about spinning in the round! We had FRONT row tickets in Spokane, immediately to Dusty’s left and he never turned to face us a single time. Those feet were PLANTED. Absolutely loved the set - we’re having a good time.
I’m very disappointed about the shorter podcasts but I guess shorter is better than you guys having to stop due to your schedules. Dusty! I’m so stinking proud and happy for you! The special is extra hilarious! I love catching your comedy club shows on RU-vid but this Netflix is next level and I love it! I hope to catch you live some time in Oklahoma. Best to you all!
Absolutely LOVED your show in Newark! Jimmy Fallon was such a surprise! Seeing your dad mingle in the audience before the show was also super special. I was hoping for an autograph on my "Go Jackets" sign! We are so thankful to have seen you. What an amazing experience that night for all!
Dusty Slay Day should be the first Saturday in November and it should have something to do with leaves. The kids will be out of school since it’s the weekend, but they haven’t left town yet for Thanksgiving break so they’ll still be around to celebrate it. I don’t think there’s a “National Leaf Pile Day,” so maybe Dusty Slay Day can be a recognized day for kids to play with leaf piles, wipe off the slugs, then responsibly mulch the leaves and place them in planter beds.
Definitely disappointing to see the shorter format. We love the show as is! Maybe there's metrics regarding algorithm or ad stuff supporting a shorter show. Though Rogan is the biggest thing there is and his eps are routine 3-4 hours.
I feel like my 4 boyfriends just told me they need some space. "It's not you, it's us!?". A little sad. I understand. I think I left a couple CDs in your car, so you cannot break-up with me. Excited to see Nate in Portland, Oregon Friday!!
I really miss the 2 plus hours already. I use to split it up on my commute to and from work. Now it's one day and done. Now I've got to find other podcasts.
Heres a compromise the fellowship of folk™️ have offered: Pre record ad reads so you can cut then in as needed and then your 1 hour hard out for barracuda can be spent with the folks, and episodes will be longer than an hour. You have 1 hour to agree or counter offer. I said 1 hour
I love that y’all are shavin’ this down to a sweet 60! I love all of ya but when I’m scrolling through my subs and see 2:30:30, I just lose hope cause I can’t watch that long a show. So I’m excited! 🎉
Great Netflix special, Dusty! Shorter podcast feels less intimidating in some bizarre way. Less of a long term commitment like I won’t start that book because I won’t finish it.
I don't mind the rerun. I'm probably on my 20th run through the pod cast. When I get close to the newest episode I just restart back from episode 1. Still makes me laugh just as much even when I have the jokes memorized.
Imagine being a kid and getting $20 a week for an allowance for 3 years and then one day your parents tell you they didn’t realize most parents only give $10 for an allowance, so they’re going to lower yours. Rather than being the cool parents you thought they were, they decided to conform and be the same as everyone else. Total bummer.
Probably would be a little less frustrated with the shorter podcast if we didn't keep the same amount of ad reads. I didn't add them up but it felt like there were 20 mins of ad reads on an hour and 15min podcast. Unbelievable! Still love the show and will forever listen.
Less Nateland??? Say it isn't so!? I'm so bummed, but I do understand you guys are busy on the road and have families. But a 2 hour Nateland was perfect!
Sorry fellas! There are a few rules to podcasting. If the podcast is only 1 day a week…it’s gotta be longer than an hour. If it’s an hour long…it’s gotta be more than 1 a week. That being said…we love y’all and aren’t going anywhere! Hey Bear!
When you guys talked about JFK and Marilyn Monroe and how old they were and such, I was sure that Bobsled would've brought up the president from his childhood, John Tyler still having a living gandson. Tyler was born in 1790 and his grandson Harrison Tyler was born in 1928.
Bates is great. He could be so much better if he wasn’t the arbiter of ad reads whose contribution is constantly stifled. Nate referred back to him to see if he had something to add to the conversation about the end zone fumble, he gets a close-up, it’s an ad. No one cares. Take the time you’re saving with shorter episodes and pre/post-record the ad reads. They bring the conversation to a screeching halt. Think it won’t work? Watch Matt and Shane’s Secret podcast. They do the ad reads together, outside the episode, and they’re still funny.
Holy cow Nate's friends don't look the way I thought. I've been listening to the show on Spotify in the car. I heard the podcast was on youtube also so at lunch today I found my mental image of them was no where near what it turns out to be.
Hey bear, I think if you are going to shorten the podcast to one hour, you need to pause the timer anytime there is a discussion on golf, trying to lose weight, or one of Nate's rants! 😊
