Brian never ceases to amaze me how much time he dedicates to his friends. He watches all their stand up and can even quote it, has been there by their sides as they come up through comedy, reads their books, watches their own podcasts, etc. Such a giving and generous guy. A little funny too.
The reason Aaron is such a nice young man is because his parents took the time and care to teach him manners. I still remember that episode where he talked about calling a friend and said " good morning Mrs. ------ may I PLEASE speak to -------" . Obviously Aaron was taught to be polite reflected in his phone manners. Good job Mr. and Mrs. Weber!
@jcascarelli01cascarelli45 I mean I can see Nate laying into Aaron pretty hard like he always does about the educational differences...pretty sure Nate would compare his clown/magician dad to Aaron's principal dad 😀
I worked as a preschool teacher for a while and had to write down a dad's name one time while he was standing there. I couldn't remember his name. I thought I was so smart and asked him how he spelled his name.... I instantly turned red when he slowly spelled out "B-O-B" 😂😂
Proud to say Nateland is the first podcast I introduced my 4 (soon to be five year old to)... He laughed when I laughed and asked to watch another one when it was over. So we are having a good time.
Always so fun when Leanne is with you guys! She's just darlin'! 😊 (Still missed Dusty though! #dontditchDusty) One of the things I love most is how much you guys love, admire, and respect her.... and how easy it is to see, too! I wonder if you have any idea if more folks watch the podcast versus only listen? To me, it's so much more fun to watch while listening...double the entertainment! This podcast me my very FAVORITE AND makes my day each week! I've watch most of the episodes multiple times. You are my friends that make long work hours more enjoyable & relaxing time even more fun! Thanks for keepin' on keepin' on! God bless each one of you!
THANK YOU so much for having Leanne Morgan back!! I could listen to this group all day long. And Nate's ad reading of True Nutrition that began with, "If you are a menopausal woman with a big stomach" caused me to spew coffee everywhere! HILARIOUS. Keep up the great work guys.
pretty sure that the folks that are good on tests are also good at accomplishing things. The ones that fail on tests but work hard can be successful but likely dont spend time thinking about the tests they failed. Sadly there seems to be a growing number that do poorly on tests and then attack the tests and spend time quoting cliches and using smilies
One of my favorite parts of this podcast is watching Aaron try to control and hold in his laughter. I always guessed he has the highest IQ at the table, but the ACT score comparison confirmed it. Also, I homeschooled my three kids till high school. I didn't wear jumpers or sandals with socks, never owned a camper and I shaved my legs several times a week. The Aura frame is amazing! My husband got me one for Christmas and passed away unexpectedly a few weeks later. Now it's a treasure full of memories of our life together. So easy to work with and my kids send new photos right from their phones.
I just love this podcast. I love all of the regulars and the guests. I am 65 soon to be 66 years old and I stumbled upon your podcast months ago. I love that it’s clean and I love that all of you just seem like nice people. Most of all I love to watch it because it is soo funny. I have watched a few other podcasts and sometimes they are funny but you guys kill it every week and I appreciate it.
Let’s all appreciate that they all recognized the feedback to keep their podcast at 2 hours. I’m a sensitive person so sometimes I still think Nate is mean to Aaron and Brian. I actually have started to think it’s because he doesn’t realize he has the power in the podcast dynamic and making fun of Aaron and Brian is a bit of a talking down, as opposed to making fun of your true comic peers. I realized Nate just kinda makes fun of everyone in the way he understands as a standup comic, and maybe doesn’t realize why we sometimes come to Aaron and Brian’s defense. I hope they really are all true friends. Nate is innately the funniest but I think doesn’t always recognize what Brian and Aaron add to the podcast. They are so Ernest and just seem so kind, I love them all. Dusty is a great addition because Nates comments just don’t affect him at all. He lives in his own world. Love Nate too just for the record!! Leanne is my favorite female comedian (aside from maybe Taylor Tomlinson) and I will listen to her voice all day long.
Couple weeks ago I was at a bluegrass show here in western Colorado and the band played Rocky top. Having lived in Knoxville, I just assumed everybody knew to yell WOO in the pause between "good old Rocky top" and "Rocky top Tennessee". I was the only person in the audience to stand up and yell woo as loud as I could. Even the band gave me strange looks. Good times. Love the podcast!
Shout out to Nate for educating the next generation! My 8th grader said she watched the George Washington SNL skit in her science class when talking about weights and measures. Glad to know that even though there is a lot of junk they’re exposed to in middle school, they are getting the cream of the crop every now and then!
My kids say I have a catchphrase “We got drinks at the house.” I agree with Mr. Weber: that is how they get you! One time my husband took the kids out to eat while I was busy. He let them order drinks and they acted like they won the lottery! 😂
I didn't know about Nateland until Leanne's first episode. I am a fan of hers and now the BAND too. I live in Jonesborough, which is the oldest town in the Tennessee as Breakfast said. The National Storytelling Festival is a pretty big deal around here. And my absolute favorite teller is Donald Davis that Leanne was talking about. He is a legend! Everyone should check him out!!!!
"Katie bar the door"!! I haven't heard that one in AGES!! LOVE YOU, LEANNE🥰!!! My 2 favorite comics in one place (Nate and Leanne), but you're all great!!!
I'm so glad to hear there are more moms out there teaching their boys basic manners. Like Aaron's mom, I wait at the door until my son opens it for me and have him pull out my chair, among other things. His teachers notice him for his manners, which puts them in their good graces even though his grades are not great. I didn't get that treatment but I hope he treats his future wife like a queen.
Absolutely love Miss Leann, woman of a certain age here, I love all you young men too...yall crack me up....can't wait for Leann immersion season this fall....ordering new book stat!!!
Nate talking about performing at The Round. After watching Hello World (multiple times) I can really appreciate how he moved around the stage, very casual, engaging, relaxed, even his timing looking at the camera....like he was on a friendly stroll with the audience.
Seeing comedy In The Round is fine to watch after it's been filmed. Watching it live is awful. It's distracting because half the time the comic's back or side is to you
YEP!! It sure sounded like Bates said something different than intense!!! What a great moment. LeAnn, you are special!! Loved the George Washington bit on SNL. Timing on that was spot on! Enjoyed everyone today and we miss Dusty, too. Ya’ll make WEDNESDAYS a day to look forward to.
Nate says, "I think I like etiquette". That's probably why he likes golf so much. Golf is all about etiquette! From tee to green to the pro shop and parking lot... knowing the etiquette makes the experience of golf so memorable.
Etiquette, at its egalitarian best is collection of time-tested rituals to produce harmony. Some etiquette is more sinisterly inspired/required. Good luck to all.
Thank you, Burgundy, for a wonderful show for my parents this week in O’Fallon. I left for college a week ago and this was a good distraction from the empty-nest life. Love the podcast; keep the BAND together!
I love that Nate thinks teachers have one iota of say in what time schools release students. The people who make the decisions in education aren't often the people with boots on the ground. Wouldn't it be amazing if everyone (minus criminal offenders) had to serve one day a year as a substitute or lunch & recess monitor similar to our jury duty?
That 'ole girl is a lovely guest. 🌷 If anybody has good old-fashioned manners, it would be her. 💗 It shows, honey. Good on you. God bless & great success with the tv show, book signing and touring- the family & just everything. Thanks guys! 🌿
When I was in highschool, a few friends and I would go to different hotels before school to eat their free breakfast. Part of our scheme was to bring pajamas to change into so we could blend in better. One person walked in the front door then let everyone else in through the side. Pajamas in public was the key though.
Lol that is wild! 😆 I was in Switzerland a couple years ago, and one hotel would ask you for your room number when you came to get your plate for breakfast.
An absolute delight. This makes me love hump day. And sometimes I figure out what day of the week it is based on when I get a new Nateland. Also, how can I get the shirt BB is wearing??
I was on an 8-hour redeye flight. After they served drinks they turned off the lights, everyone tried to go to sleep. The person in front of me reclined all the way, as they should. I reclined my seat all the way and the guy behind me grabbed my seat with both hands and started shaking it aggressively until I put it back up. I looked back and he just looked at me and shook his head. Curious what you guys would have done in this situation? I took the Bates approach and just let it slide because I did not want to make a scene on the plane when everyone was trying to sleep. Looking back I shouldv'e taken a Dusty approach and confronted him about it.
We just love Miss Leanne. Ordered her book that comes out in my birthday. I ordered it the first day she announced it. I was raised by an etiquette czar who frequently would refer to 2 etiquette books. I know which fork to use😂
I found the comments about folks being so disconnected on planes or in life, in general, was spot on. No one bothers to talk to anyone these days, so therefore we don’t look at folks at humans. We have electronics to keep us occupied, whereas back “in the day” you would talk to folks in the grocery store lines, doctor’s offices, airplanes, etc. I wish we still connected with each other.
I saw Nate at the MN state fair last weekend and I would love to hear more of Nate’s thoughts on the fair. He missed some amazing food which is a bummer. I’d love a state fair episode so we could learn about other states and people could see that the MN fair is far superior than any other.
I was on a plane one time and the lady in front of me had her long hair hanging over the back of the seat covering my tv screen. I find people to be generally oblivious to how they affect others. Just walk around a grocery store for a while and you’ll see it. I agree with Aaron that we are all going through life as if we are in our own cars and the people next to us can’t be interacted with.
Deliverance was shot in South Carolina on the Chattooga River. We lived in Mtn Rest where the crew rented the house we rented when we first moved there. But Reynolds bought a home in Highlands, NC that my husband actually surveyed when they sold it.
Deliverance was shot (parts of it) on the Chattooga River in NC and GA. I rafted it once, above the dam where it is rougher, and nearly drowned being thrown out of the raft and then ran over and stuck on a rock underneath it until I kicked it off. Never rafting again and do not recommend it!
I love that y’all talked about clothing etiquette. As a stay at home mom, I feel SO much better leaving the house when I have a shower, a nice pair of jeans or leggings and a presentable shirt. I think it totally changes the way you carry yourself.
I think they went from “complimentary” breakfast to “continental” breakfast. Aaron had it right but Nate started talking about the prepackaged food, which is usually what the continental breakfasts consist to. No one even mentioned the waffles on the complimentary breakfast.
I’m a flight attendant and stay in hotels 3 nights a week. A/C’s in your room turn off without motion. The trick is, place a few squares of toilet paper in the a/c grate. It tricks the system into staying on. ❤And I’ve been an SWA FA for over 37 years…I am NOT excited about the assigned seating🫤
I love hearing everyone talk about their restaurant experiences. I think one of the biggest generational differences is how we view and treat servers. Be generation sees them as servants and another sees them as peers.
Just FYI about movies filmed in the Appalachians, a lot of the first “Hunger Games” was filmed on Stone Mountain and in the Appalachian region; “The Last of the Mohicans” was filmed near Brevard, North Carolina, and there are many more examples. Love all you guys thanks, for the laughter.
I have to take up for continental breakfasts. My sister and I stayed at a hotel when we saw Nate at Rupp Arena. The breakfast had made to order pancakes that included Nutella and sprinkles... They also had eggs, sausage, and a plethora of other foods. The pancakes weren't as good as the Be Funny tour, but they made the stay nicer! Love the podcast guys!
I agree with Mrs Morgan; men should not cuss in front of women. I was raised my whole life believing that was the law in Texas. However, I found out it’s a law in Texas that no one can cuss in public.
I love listening to you all. I work in data entry and you all make it slightly less boring 😂 my parents never let us go out in pjs to go eat breakfast at a hotel, we got up early to get dressed and to be presentable for breakfast. I still do the same in my 40s. Although the breakfast is not good anymore, if we're in a rush, we bear through it. If not, we go out for a good breakfast.
I have to disagree with Nate on the airplane seats etiquette. I don't necessarily blame the person in front of me but I do blame the airlines for cramming seats closer and closer. As someone who's 6'6", my knees already touch the back of the seat in front of me and when they lean back it literally causes pain and digs into my knees. I also have the Nate desire to not be a problem so most times I won't speak up about it and end up spending hours super uncomfortable so the person in front of me can be comfortable. They need to eliminate tipping back the seats all together. Also I don't make Nate money so My airplane seat choices are very limited.
Loved hearing y'all talk about the Ocoee river. I spent one summer as a guide after college and cherish the memories. I used to live on Ocoee Street and I did my student teaching at Ocoee Middle School. It almost seemed natural to name my daughter 'Ocoee,' so we did - even though we lived pretty far from Tennessee and Florida. I always ask my daughter if she could tell, on the first day of school, when the teacher got to her name on the roll call. She can tell 🙄😂 Everyone actually calls her 'Coco' which was her planned nickname, but at the doctor or dentist it can be mildly entertaining.
I grew up in MN but live in Florida now. I told all my family to go see nate at the state fair. So bummed I couldn't go but hearing nate talk about it was cool. I lived a few blocks from the fairgrounds and trying to commute that week anywhere was impossible
I applied to six schools and five of them wanted ACT scores. The one that wanted SAT was Ivy League. I was told it was because of the writing portion. I think some schools had started accepting ACT+a new writing addition in lieu if the SAT
Happy to hear last week that Nate got to go to the best state fair! Wilson county proud. When Nate said he went to the Minnesota state fair I was expecting to hear about the legendary bucket cookie stand. Sounds like something right up his alley, can't believe he didn't get to try them.
This was not a drill 😉 We drove up from Philadelphia to visit our college friend in NYC. We were thrilled and brought our most sophisticated clothes to go out. We wanted to show her that we had style. While getting ready in her posh apartment a fire broke out down below. We had just enough time to grab purses and clothes on our backs! My friend was still getting dressed and I was in the shower with shampoo in my hair. I did manage to throw on jeans, turtleneck and coat. Fire trucks, news cameras and posh neighbors. Our big city debut and we still looked like broke college students.
My dad taught me "If you are not early, then you are late." I do think folks should dress so they are comfortable but at the same time they should be clean and neat. And there are occasions that require "dressing up". A minister told me about a funeral he did where grandchildren came in swimsuits, towels and flipflops because they were going to the pool afterwards.
My husband travels for work and can’t stand the free hotel breakfasts anymore. He got so sick of it and will not touch it. My kids absolutely love it though. They will load up on food like they will never see another meal again. They won’t eat yogurt at home for breakfast, but you better believe they are grabbing that along with everything else on the counter.
I got to see Leanne in Huntsville recently. It’s was so great but I will say a screen would have been nice. Her facial expressions are priceless and we couldn’t see that.
I am so glad Aaron brought up smart thermostats. I live in Florida and rent a townhouse that has one. The day time setting automatically sets to 78° year round it can be awful in the summer.
My husband got a week off of school for the Bloomsburg Fair in PA. They couldn’t have school because all the teachers and high school kids worked there.
Growing up 100 miles from the state fair, I don’t know anyone that didn’t go to it every year. After we moved to Michigan we went back over Labor Days. It’s a BIG deal
I get what Nate is saying about dress accordingly when going to your hotel restaurant etc… I try and apply the same thought of how I would be dressed to open my front door to a stranger or friend.❤Not dressed to impress them but also not dressed to embarrass them or myself 😂Yessss Leann bras pleasssee 😮also jeepers congrats on your deserved success and movie, series, book( I ordered it girlfriend!) ❤bless you all
Me and Nate both thought Aaron was bringing the heat when he said “you have a righteous anger” but in reality we just had no clue what he meant. Reminded me of Kevin Hart in 40 yr old virgin “First of all, you throwin' too many big words at me, and because I don't understand them, I'm gonna take 'em as disrespect.”
