Hello everyone! I never knew this would blow up like it did! I’m so happy everyone is enjoying the music but I see some people have mistaken me for the fine gentleman in the video.
I am not him. I am just a college student that likes music like this. I upload music from tiktok that is not on youtube so I can put it in playlists for MYSELF. I never expected to get subs or to blow up the way I did.
If you like Nathan and his work check out his tiktok!

Hope everyone has a good day!

He left off the best verse: “The Scotman’s Hands were numb with drink His head was spinning ‘round. He couldn’t get that ribbon off So homeward he was bound His wife she caught a flash of blue As he took off his clothes And it piqued her curiosity as you might well suppose. Well the she asked that Scotsman Where he’’d been and what he’’d done He said there was a contest at the pub And that he’’d won She cried,” You did not show that thing In front of all those men?” “I did not show it all my love But just enough to win.””

Why all the surprise to hear ‘a Scotsman’ perform this? Maybe because it is written by local (NC) artist Mike Cross... “Although most Scotsmen would approve of the sentiment, "The Scotsman Song" was actually written by an American, Mike Cross. The original recording, with instrumental accompaniment, runs to 2 minutes 41 seconds. The unquestionably superior capella - recorded before an approving audience - is by fellow American Bryan Bowers - and runs to around 2 minutes 26 seconds. It is also known as "The Drunken Scotsman", "The Drunken Scotsman Song", etc.”

@@ravencolours I definitely see the similarity now that you say it. It’s possible that’s all I’m hearing, but I really feel like I’ve heard something a lot closer to the tune here - and the memory definitely folk-song/sea-shanty vibes. I’ve listened to a lot of both over the years - especially mid-1800s American music (and with informal music like this it’s totally possible some sub-melody has gotten borrowed around with neither even being the original) - but I just can’t place it.

@memyselfandi432
@memyselfandi432 3 года назад
was it an Australian joke centered around Dad 'n' Dave, and Dave's girlfriend Mavis? did it involve a circus, an Elephant performance, and a sideshow hustler selling coconuts as 'elephant eggs' which needed to be incubated? If so, I tip my hat to another man of culture.

@andreabonacossa8709 3 года назад
@@memyselfandi432 i don't know It, can u write the complete joke?
@memyselfandi432
@memyselfandi432 3 года назад
@@andreabonacossa8709 Sure. There are these two Australian farmers who live way out the back of beyond. We'll call them Dad and Dave. Dad and Dave are very isolated, and have none of the modern comforts such as flushing toilets, running water, telephone, or the internet. They're effectively living in the dark ages. Also, being Aussies from the arse end of nowhere, they aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. Anyway, one day the circus is visiting the nearest rural town, about a six hour drive away. Dad and Dave decide to go and see the circus, since it's the first bit of excitement they've had in living memory. While at the circus, they watch a display of elephants doing all sorts of tricks. "Christ on cracker," exclaims Dad, "Imagine what those elephants could do for the farm!" So, Dad and Dave go looking for a way to obtain an elephant. It takes a bit of searching, but they eventually find a sideshow hustler of dubious morality. After explaining their need, they watch in awe as the hustler procures what he calls an 'elephant egg', a hard round object covered coarse, dark, matted fur. When it's shaken, the liquid inside it sloshes about. We would call it a coconut, but we're smarter and better educated than both these two Aussie battlers. The con man then explains that the 'elephant egg' needs to be incubated for three weeks. When Dad and Dave get home, Dad immediately tells Dave to jump into bed and start incubating the egg. Australia being the oppressively hot country it is, Dave does so in the nude. ("Clothes and bed sheets are way too many layers. Best to only have the sheets so you don't cook the egg" the con man had instructed.) After a few days, Dave's girlfriend comes over to visit. Mavis is a stunning girl (by the standards of the locals), and a hard worker to boot. She'll make great wife for Dave one day, or so everyone says. One of her pet peeves is laziness. "Oi Dave, stop being a lazy bastard and get up!" She says, pointing out the window, indicating the work that still needs doing out in the fields. "I can't, Mavis, I'm incubating an elephant egg." Dave replies, continuing, "do you want a feel?" Mavis obliges, putting her hand under the sheets and wrapping her hand around Dave's member. She quickly retracts her hand, pulling a face of abject disgust as she says, "that's gruesome!" "Put your hand back," Dave replies, "it just grew some more!"
