I don't think it is actually Alec Baldwin's brother, he doesn't look like any google images I could find. Nathan on Your Side habbitually misidentifies random people as celebrities... there was an old lady identified as Dakota Fanning in an episode and a random black guy that was supposedly Snoop Dog.
Mave McCoy lolwut...this guy is indeed Stephen Baldwin, actual brother of Alec Baldwin, he was in The Usual Suspects and a crappy movie called Bio-Dome. And now he’s the father-in-law to fuckin’ Justin Bieber, lol.
Old comment I know, but it seemed like he didn't carry thru for the joke. He's playing a character that is timid and non-confrontational so it makes sense
Because a person getting punched in the face is the epitome of quality comedy, l mean, have you ever seen any Adam Sandler movie? They've got at least 5 or 6 punch in the face scenes in their trailer alone! Plus a couple kicks in the groin for good mesure. I hope Nathan goes for that in his next show.
Am I the only who thinks Stephan was actually joking? I mean he's an entertainer an actor right? Comes from a Hollywood(weird) family so....I've seen her make jabs at other people before but it was in jest.
It's brilliant because all Nathan had to do was stand there and wait for Baldwin's true personality to come out. lol There's more honesty in those 22 seconds than in any interview I've ever seen.
The fact that he did back down only made Stephen Baldwin look crazier. He made the right choice (the joke was so benign anyway I doubt Baldwin would have gotten too upset)
@watchmejumpstart I was actually worried that nathan would make the "you're nuts" joke and Stephen Baldwin would take it very personally and throw a punch. I don't know why I was worried, it's not like any of the Baldwin's have overreacted like that before
Feelin' Fine ah wow , thanks for letting me in on the joke , and informing me about the event . i do wish it wasn't a common association with that image though :)
Trenchcoats are a great piece of clothing if you live somewhere cold rainy and windy... Umbella gets blown and broken and shorter coats don't keep your legs dry and aren't as warm. Leather trenchcoats do have a bad connotation because they were popular civilian clothing in Germany in the 1930s and 40s and the gestappo wore civilian clothing, so movies and old pictures typically dipict Nazi baddies wearing leather trenchcoats. But the good guys wore trenchhcoats too, it was sort of nice trench clothing I suppose. Normal trenchcoats are a nice practical piece of apparel even in the 21st century and can be quite styling with the right hat. I have lived a few places where trenchcoats are common apparel, nobody that I know has the connotation that they are school shooter smocks, just that they are good for wind and rain and are old school classy outerwear which is less formal and usually less warm than a traditional overcoat. If you want to stop wearing an evil piece of clothing, start with the necktie. Lots of evils people wear neckties and they are silly and unpractical. A bow tie and a clerical collar do the same job more parsimoniously, but lots of evil people wear clerical collars too. Bow ties are parsimonious and nice and friendly looking. I cant think of any evil people off the top of my head who wear bow ties. Anyway, a great brand of trenchcoat is "London Fog", and you can get them really cheap on Amazon - only 1 to 2 hundred dollars unless you are fat (large sizes are more expensive). But don't let any of this distract you from the fact that old Took's great uncle Bullroarer was so tall that he could ride a horse.
He’s actually making fun of Canadian ‘comedy’ shows that used to love to make fun of Americans. Fielder is absolutely meta. As a Canadian, and a Nathan, I get it.
@@kassidyhumes2486 It was the "as a Nathan" for me, as if anyone that resonates with or makes these kinds of jokes is only because of this one individual
Stephen Baldwin providing more absurdist humour by accident than Nathan can even match. Is there actually something medically wrong with the Baldwin lad?
That's why we don't do drugs, kids. You forget what was said right before the last thing you processed, you lose context, and you threaten to harm a nice Canadian.
I'm Liberal as they come and disagree with most Conservatives on issues. Still it was nice to see everyone playing along with the joke and not overreacting. Except for that douchebag Baldwin. He was the only one to act tough and not have fun.
While liberals are ignorant, I guess some conaervatives are douches. But so are libs. To be honest they arent "liberals": liberals dont believe in gun control, and do believe in free markets. I am a classic liberal (a libertarian) and you are probably a whatever-the-daily-show-tells-you-to-be
@@fewfaf4214 Thank you for that brief but meaningful introspection into Matthews mind. I am really happy to be in the same comment section with such a great person as you. Also I think that Democrats should rename their party to something else. It is just misleading for lots of people, since Republicans are pro-democracy.
@@rocsti5402 I mean, I don’t love Alec Baldwin (for reasons unrelated to politics), but what I can remember, he was given a gun that he was led to believe was cold (ie. wouldn’t shoot bullets), when that wasn’t the case.
didn't really make fun of republicans.. he just kept saying "you're nuts" lol. pretty hilarious and interesting to see how each reacted. definitely ripping on hack political comedy (not saying all political comedy is hacky) and just being his awkward self deprecating self
It's more funny if you're a liberal because the only ones who end up looking like asshats on television are republicans. they always reveal themselves as violent, sexist, racist, etc.
Skinny, socially awkward guy: "I'm from a Canadian comedy show so I'm going to take a jab at you." Sure Alec's brother totally thought he was starting a fight.
Hugh Jaynis Hey Huge Anus, it's not about interpretation... it's about what was heard during their conversation. Have you ever had a conversation with someone and weren't listening entirely? I'm saying it's possible Baldwin heard "jab" without making a conversational connection to said 'comedy club'
He was in a "be smart, the cameras are filming" mode, he was trying to find words to say, it took him so long to say that sentence about responsibility and instantly he goes on to make a threat haha
He's a douche, but don't boil it down to his political stance. If you want to start pointing fingers at right wing idiots, I assure you they will have no problems in finding an equal or greater number of left wing idiots to retaliate with.
Lol just so y'all know, Stephen did not take Nathan's use of the word "jab" literally. He knew that jab, in this context meant that Nate was going to make fun of him. In other words, he was telling Nate that if he makes fun of him then he's going to punch him in the face. Some people on here are low-key covering for Baldwin saying "well he probably misunderstood what he meant by 'jab' ", lol no. He knew. He was just trying to be macho and a bad-ass.
@@punkchris Yeah lol. It honestly would have made him look better if he actually thought Nathan meant "punch" when he said jab, because then his response would be understandable. But nope, he was trying to be a tough guy and bad ass, and just came off as a total douche.
I know next to nothing about the Baldwin's, but I think it's safe to say Alec is the sharpest. Sharpest shooter, that is. He's a total idiot about everything else though.
What's great about Nathan is that his humor always comes from him making fun of himself. It's never condescending like those on the Daily Show and all other political shows that does cheap laughs by talking to republicans.
Guy Incognito I've never equated conservatives and Nazis. It's people like you who are the problem when you throw away reading comprehension, intellectualism, and basic logic when you decide to open your mouth and attempt to communicate with other people. My point was an implication about Republicans, not conservatives. Secondly, you're making a mistake in attempting to contrast Republicans to the Nazi party. You're making the comparison of today's Republicans to 1945's Nazi Germany. You should be making the contrast between today's Republicans and the early days of the Nazi party. The scapegoating, the legislation of oppression, and the distrust of the media are all things out of the Nazi playbook. The Nazis didn't send people to gas chambers in the early 30s, so your comparison betrays your Jewishness when you gloss over the many steps the Nazis undertook to get to gas chambers. You're purposeful blind eye to the shared trajectory between these two only guarantees that something like that can happen again. And I can predict your response right now, you'll excuse the scapegoating. You'll excuse the anti-Semitism we see with the Alt-right at present. You'll say that these are not alarming things because they aren't "gas chambers". Which is, sadly, akin to excusing Krystalnacht. "Well y'know it's not like they were rounding up and killing people en masse it was just a march" -folks like you
The NSDAP was a socialist party, the "S" stands for "socialist" and the "A" for "worker". Goebbels said in 1931(!!), that the NSDAP is the german left and nothing is hated more by them than the right, nationalists, "property-owning middle class" (don't really know how to translate it, in german he said "Besitzbürgerblock"). In 1938 they took all weapons from Jews and left them defenseless. The Nazis collaborated with Islam respectively its highest representatives and said, that the collectivistic (?), anti-individualistic mindset of Islam matches with their own mindset splendidly. Cant help but that reminds me more of the so called Liberals and Communists/Socialists... Today the term "Nazi" is nothing but a combat term, in order to shut down all conservative voices, at least that how it is in Germany, but afaik it's also happening in the US...
Berthold Vogts: The NS was added to DAP in order to hijack socialist branding. Secondly, they didn't "collaborate with Islam", as most of the Muslim world fought against the Nazis. You need to finish a high school history course before commenting on history, heh.
Its funny how Stephen Baldwin is Republican and Alec plays trump on SNL to make fun of him. Also I think Stephen misunderstood Nathan "I'm going to try a jab" he may of thought he would hit him - either way really funny.
If a republican did this SAME thing the dems would be so fucking mean to him..... Don't believe me??? Try it out then. I bet there's a video already out there proving me right... Haha
nathan is so dedicated to his role, he probably concocted a whole 'accidental' meeting between bieber and baldwin's daughter, as the ultimate 'jab' - several years later
A favorite headcanon of mine is that Nathan Fielder is actually an alien in disguise and that that's why he's so awkward. "I don't get these 'Republicans'. There's always been free healthcare in my home planet, and my species has 85 different sexes..."
What do tax cuts have to do with race? Also, I never said I was in favor of corporations receiving tax benefits. As far as Tucker goes, gonna have to disagree with you there. I think most of Fox is right-wing SJWs, but from what I've seen Tucker seems to be the fairest. As far as all major news networks regardless of pol. affiliation, they all put their spin on it my man. No news network can claim to be 100% objective, and frankly, no human can.
