I never realized how hysterical Nathan Lane is. It’s surreal he voiced Timon in the Lion King and here he plays an actual lion.

...this is from a 1995 TBS/TNT produced program called "The Wizard of Oz in Concert - Dreams Come True", starring Jewel (Dorothy), Jackson Browne (Scarecrow), Roger Daltrey (Tin Man), Nathan Lane (Cowardly Lion), Joel Grey (Marvel/Wizard/etc), Natalie Cole (Glinda), Debra Winger (Elphalba), with Lucie Arnaz and Phoebe Snow, and also with Images and the Boys Choir of Harlem. Alfre Woodard was the host, and the program was taped live at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Centre, New York as a benefit for the Children's Defense Fund. I have the CD.

As a child the Lion was always my favourite, such a joy to find this and Nathan Lane superb in this part as in everything he does.

I love this performance of Wizard of Oz. Many fabulous performers but Nathan Lane takes the cake as the most talented comedian in the show. Jewel and Natalie Cole are amazing!!!
