Brady, Manning, Montana, Aikman never came close... Farve sniffs it at 6 but this was Peterman's moment and he was robbed of it. Legends never die.
He tied the NFL record for most interceptions thrown by a QB in his starting debut. If he played for another 2 minutes or so he would maybe be able to break it.

@@Anonymous38572 he didn't throw a bullet and the receiver is an nfl-caliber athlete he should be able to make bullet catches regardless of how close he was.

The slower you throw it the more time the defender has to get there a get a big hit, knock the ball down, intercept it... etc. These are professional players they should be able to catch that. Terrible performance, but the first one wasn't his fault.

Worth nothing that the first interception was all on the Full back. Two more he was hit well throwing and he wasn't really hanging onto the ball real long. I think this was a lot of bad luck for the kid.
True but only a rookie is gonna toss it when he's about to be sacked like that unless it's someone who really knows what they're doing. Only really wanna do that if the scenario is your receiver either catches it or it hits the ground.

Imagine it's your first day at a new job and you make a bunch of mistakes and your employer clowns you on social media for it. Now multiply it by 1000 because this hypothetical employer probably doesn't have anywhere near the reach of the NFL. If you're a first round pick who makes multiple mullions per season, then it comes with the territory. Not as much for a late round pick that probably won't last beyond a rookie extension.
@A A 4 out of the 5 were his fault. 3 out of the 5 interceptions he threw while being hit, he could have decided to tuck it and take a sack. The last pick he threw he completely overthrew the receiver. If a qb takes a sack under immense pressure, the blame is on the o-line. But once a qb decides to throw the ball right before/as he's getting hit, anything that happens after that is the quarterback's fault.
@A A 1st INT was a dropped pass. 2nd one was Peterman throwing it off his back foot instead of stepping up into the pocket. 3rd one was bad blocking but Peterman did also try to throw it in between 2 defenders, so bad play in general. 4th one was also some bad blocking but mostly Peterman throwing it behind his receiver. The 5th one was obviously some sort of miscommunication between Peterman and his receiver, so im not sure whose fault it is

INT #1: Peterman threw what looked like a bullet pass to a fullback (FBs don't handle the ball much) only 8 yards away with no defenders anywhere near the target. INT #2: Peterman floated one up under duress off his back foot with a defender in his face to an area with 3 defenders and one receiver. INT #3: Some would say this one isn't Peterman's fault because he was hit as he was throwing. But if you look carefully, it appears as if he was throwing as he was being hit (which is different). The defender was already right on top of him when Peterman chose to release the ball. INT #4: OK, this one really isn't Peterman's fault. He got baited. Well played by the defense. INT #5: Miscommunication between the QB and WR. Peterman didn't expect the receiver to stop and the ball went straight into the hands of the defender. Since the WR may have ran the wrong route, we'll give Peterman a pass here. CONCLUSION: Peterman threw 16 passes. 6 completions to his team. 5 completions to the defense. Had he spiked the ball on all 16 pass attempts, his passer rating would have been 39.6. Instead he finished with a 17.9 rating. Ouch.
I’m a year late, but this post is one of the funniest I’ve read😂. Ha Ha!!! Ugh, poor Nathan Peterman. His first NFL start ever and the kid would’ve done better had he simply spiked all 16 of his throwing attempts😅. Yikes!

He was young and thrown into a situation he shouldn't have been. I agree that he is only responsible for a couple of those but it goes down in the record books as all on him. Crazy to think the coach literally threw this game away to prove a point and they still made the playoffs that year
I think the guy has recieved far too much criticism for these, thanks for actually sticking up for him rather than jumping on the bandwagon the nfl clearly wants people on.
Last one was his fault, not like he was throwing to a particularly amazing receiver so shouldn't expect miracles, totally agree with the rest it sounds worse than it is but was barely his fault overall. But yeah, 32.5 passer rating @ 3-12, he is pretty bad lol.

That's why Peterman should NOT have started!! No way in hell was he ready!! The Bills line could not block the Chargers D-line. For the most part..I don't blame Peterman, I blame the O-line, and McDermott!!
Peterman is the perfect example why teams need to sit and develop QB's before throwing them to the wolves. So many QBs the past decade since teams have gotten out of that pattern, who showed promise have washed out of the league. Not only was he clearly not ready but they opened up the playbook for him, poor kid didn't have a chance. Josh Allen is lucky as heII, the fact they didn't move on from him quicker is absolutely amazing and they deserve a lot of credit for not doing so.
Jai Rogers bosa and Ingram are the best duo in the league. Better than Campbell and Fowler jr. They may not have a good as a complete defense than the jaguars but the duo is the best.

@@michaelbreaks331 I've played qb and receiver in highschool if you throw the ball that hard to somebody that is that close to you it's on the qb. There's no reason to throw it that hard other than panic. I used to mess around in practice and throw it as hard as I can to my receivers and guess what, most of the time they drop it. The only people that say if it hits you in the hands you should catch it are the ones who never played receiver. It depends on the situation. If it hits them in the hands 20 yards down field yes they should catch it

N Jackson No, Tyrod hasn't been spectacular all year. The Bills ranked 30th in passing yards a game with Tyrod under Center. Coaches thought a QB change could get the offense moving while the defense continues to fall apart. Obviously it didn't work out but nobody could've foreseen the future.
