Kites, one of the traditional symbols of Easter in Barbados, are now being flown year-round.
As with everything else, kite making has evolved. From trash bone and newspaper, the modern kite is made up of wood, plastic, a massive nylon cord, cloth tail and the bull.
The latter is what makes the loud noise and the louder the better for kite lovers. But they have become a nuisance to the person trying to sleep at night, those doing online school at home and even over the Geriatric Hospital. Kites are disturbing funeral services and everyday business operations.
