Facts: God Save the King was written in [insert year] and adopted by the Kingdom of Great Britain in 1745 as the national anthem. This would later also become the national anthem of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland in 1801, after Ireland was incorporated into the kingdom. In 1949, this would, again, become the national anthem of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland after Irish independence. The anthem also changes from 'King' to 'Queen' when the monarch is female. With this, the pronouns also change. (obviously)

Lyrics:
God save our gracious King!
Long live our noble King!
God save the King!
Send him victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the King!
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On him be pleased to pour;
Long may he reign!
May he defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the King!
