Union of burma (1948-1962),Burma independent from UK and become country at 4 January 1948 and U NU become prime minister and SAO SHWE THAIK become president.1958,Burma mostly economic recovery but U NU is bias towards Buddhism and other religions and this going to bad when 1960,U NU change the constitution and say Buddhism is official religion of burma.This is drops of water overflowing for the chaos in burma.1962 when everything is crazy, General NEWIN staged a coup and that time burma become country dictatorial

They kept their old anthem through their communist era in the 60s-80s which is impressive

Ye same like laos although it was monarchy anthem used to use for anthem but communist still use pheng xat lao is their national anthem but its change little and myanmar under socialist too they change little in lyrics myanmar

It was effectively never communist, but rather anti-communist with their war against the Communist Party

@@theredpolaris I thought Burmese Way To Socialism was Marxist Buddhism. I guess I was wrong. I admit I know very little about it except that it was run by a socialist government from 1962 to 1988, then the 8888 protests (after he made money denominations of 9 because it was his lucky number wiped out savings of many) led to Ne Win stepping down and the military stepping in to establish a military dictatorship.

@@MVillani1985 Ne Win is the Chief Commander of the Tatmadaw as he took power in 1962. He formed the Revolutionary Council and later the “Socialist” government as the Chief Commander. The ideological side was contributed by ex-Communist Party members or socialists who are against the Communist Party, but their influence had waned by 1974 when Ne Win and his crew formed the Socialist government. They had a questionable education on Socialism. They never had a background in any socialist organizations.

Myanmar are still use this national anthem since 1948. Not changing Athem only change a Flag. Now Our Motherland is Big trouble, the coup make decide to changing the market economy to Cooperatives system.Now our future is F***
