No anthem will ever come close to Ireland v England at Croke. The respect shown from everyone in attendance was astounding and does immense credit to the game. More to the point, watching the tears roll from the players that day we all knew there was no way in hell England could win.
@@Clipd_rugbyIn this test yes, but at Croke Park in 2007 and 2009? First game ended in a crushing Irish Win 43-13. Second game was close, but Ireland won by a point 14-13 on route to their second ever Grand Slam. The first game will always be remembered as the one in which it was more than just a game of rugby at Croke Park. The second though will be remembered as the game where Danny Care had a brain explosion in the clean-out and paid dearly for it getting a yellow card!
@VIPICCB6 dude if your saying the south is terrorist then you can go to school and learn that THE NORTH IS THE TERRORISTS IM IRISH AND HOW DARE YOU INSULT MY HOMELAND!
The game between Ireland and Scotland would worth a doubled price ticket only for listening to two of the most passionate and emotional anthems in the world
XxHardcoreHeroxX I’m not Irish ☘️ either. And well, I’m Mexican-American, because I’m Half-Mexican, which means I was born in America, and I speak, both English and Spanish. But Ireland’s Call, is one of my favorite anthems from Ireland 🇮🇪. It’s just, too beautiful to listen to. I have lots of respect ✊, love, and support, for the Irish ☘️ people all the way. And I absolutely love, Ireland’s Call. It’s now one of my favorite national anthems, in the whole world.
@@awesometacularhero Ireland's call is not actually a national anthem, IN rugby it is used when the all Ireland team ( Northern Ireland and republic of Ireland ) play ,, it is non political and unites the teams from both North and south Ireland ,,,
VIPICCB6 Britain supported the Black and tans who were just as bad as the I.R.A and dont bother trying to say that the I.R.A were worse and that the Black and Tans were brave men. That would be stupid. You cant just say that the southeners are terroeists or terrorist supporters because that was ages ago and a different generation, so next time you act arrogant and racist maybe think about what you are saying
I’m England and Irish so always been conflicted with nationality and politically I don’t fit so will face criticism with any side I favour. Not in rugby tho… this sport is beautifully respectful, mature and accepting. This is where I fit.

Anocht a théam sa bhearna bhaoil, Le gean ar Ghaeil, chun báis nó saoil Le gunna-scréach faoi lámhach na bpiléar, Seo libh canaig' amhrán na bhFiann. Soldiers are we whose lives are pledged to Ireland, Some have come from the land beyond the wave, Sworn to be free, no more our ancient sireland Shall shelter the despot or the slave; To-night we man the Deanna Baogait In Erin's cause, come woe or weal, 'Mid cannons' roar and rifles' peal We'll chant a soldier's song. We'll sing a song, a soldier's song, With cheering rousing chorus, As round our blazing fires we throng The starry heaven o'er us; Impatient for the coming fight, And as we wait the morning's light, Here in the silence of the night We'll chant a soldier's song. Chorus: Soldiers are we whose lives are pledged to Ireland, Some have come from the land beyond the wave, Sworn to be free, no more our ancient sireland Shall shelter the despot or the slave; To-night we man the Deanna Baogait In Erin's cause, come woe or weal, 'Mid cannons' roar and rifles' peal We'll chant a soldier's song. In valley green, on towering crag, Our fathers fought before us, And conquered 'neath the same old flag That's proudly floating o'er us. We're children of a fighting race, That never yet has known disgrace, And as we march the foe to face We'll chant a soldier's song. Chorus: Sons of the Gael, men of the Pale, The long-watched day is breaking. The serried hosts of Innisfail Shall set the tyrant quaking. Our camp-fires now are burning low, See in the east a silvery glow, Out yonder waits the Saxon foe. So chant a soldier's song. Chorus
The Ireland rugby team is made up from Ireland the country and Northern Ireland (part of the UK), the first song is Amhrán na bhFiann, the National Anthem of the Republic of Ireland, and played at every Irish Rugby home game, the second, Irelands Call is played at every game to represent all 4 counties.
@@DevinZA actually, the North is also on the island of Ireland and is as Irish as the rest of Ireland. It is our foreign occupants who tell us we are part of the U.K! We all travel on Irish passports....☘🇮🇪 Éirinn abú! 🇮🇪💚
Irish Rugby represents both the country of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland (part of the United Kingdom). Due to the history of the region, a singular anthem was written to represent both regions. This is the second song, Irelands Call. The first one is Amhrán na bhFiann, the National Anthem of the Republic. It is played whenever the team plays in the Republic, if they play in Ulster or outside of Ireland, only Irelands Call is sung.
Love the way our people show respect when the English anthem is played. The English rugby fans are gentleman and ladies unlike you football fans. At the end of the day a trouble free and fine match between too neighbours👍🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️👍🇮🇪☘️
VIPICCB6 What is terrorism? Who carried out more terrorism than their proud states and ancestors? The British occupied every continent. They applied every inhuman treatment to people wherever they occupied. Their anthem does nothing but praise the occupation kingdom, which established civilization on all these crimes.
@@laurenmccartney981 Yes. Irish and Northern Irish are same ethnic. However, they may have different religions. Most Irish are Catholic believers while most of Northern Irish are Protestant believers. And it is really rare for me to know a Northern Irish Catholic believer like you
Vladimir Kobarov yes I agree with you but the city I live in (Newry) we are all catholic and so am I I also have an Irish passport so I’m proud to be irish 🙂☘️🇮🇪
@@laurenmccartney981 Good But one thing really worries me is that the percentage of catholic believers of millennium generation in Ireland is fairly low What is worse, the impact of globalization and urbanization really destroy the tradition of Ireland a lot so that abortion, marijuana, divorce and LGBT all become from illegal to legal I really hope that Ireland can restore that
@VIPICCB6 Are you stupid? Irish is a language. Just because it isn't spoken as much doesn't mean it isn't a language. Not everyone from Ireland are members of the IRA.
@VIPICCB6 the sinn féin had connections with the ira during the troubles. They are not the ira. So uneducated😬. Whatever u were thought in ur English school is biased because the education system over there is really biased to England
@VIPICCB6 and how tf is speaking a language make me a terrorist. And its not dead look up gealtach regions. Ur litteraly the most clueless person goin. Get ur facts right before u say stupid things like this
Our anthem ain't bad at all it's just not good for sports. Jerusalem also ain't that good and imo it's too much about religion. That's fine with me but there are a lot of athiests and muslims in the country
What has jerselem to do with England.. Get carli ponti younger opera singer to do UK national anthem.. Very stirring.. She's on videos. Ni versus Italy football
Am from Poland but currently live in Ireland since I was a 1 year old but the English don't even sing it properly but the Irish sing it perfectly. But I still get emotional when the 2nd part comes on for the Irish
Why has rugby followed in football steps. They no longer use actual singers for the national anthems anymore. I noticed it at the 2019 Rugby world cup, really sad honestly.
