Renovate the Public Hearing is a collaborative initiative hosted by SFU's Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue to act as a convener and catalyst in the public hearing space. Renovate the Public Hearing’s work has focused on British Columbia however this National Dialogue elevates the conversation about public hearings to a national conversation that considers what a truly democratic process for land use planning could look like. This event is moderated by Christine Boyle, City Councillor at the City of Vancouver, and features panelists Nadine Nakagawa, City Councillor at the City of New Westminster, Dennis Thomas-Whonoak, elected Councillor of Tsleil-Waututh Nation, Courtney Walcott, Councillor at the City of Calgary, Giulio Cescato, Director of Planning and Urban Design at the City of Markham, and Malorie Flon, Directrice générale at the Institut du Nouveau Monde.
