I say we need three things 2 of which should be as early as possible during the developement of a child. 1. Critical thinking as well as practical problem solving. 2. Moral science emphasising on compassion and obligation towards society at large. Third is financial literacy. This is very important.

When I asked a long time resident of Singapore (NRI) why the education standard of schools of Singapore is very high, he replied - the faculty members, i.e., teachers & other working in all the educational institutions - staring from school to university - work very hard. Any system however good it may be, needs qualified dedicated persons to work upon with. When an American admirer of Swami Vivekananda asked him what she can do for India, Swami Vivekananda replied - 'Love India'. she dedicated her whole life for India till she died in 1939. Love is the source of inspiration which makes a person move. How & why we should love our country, is to be learned from great persons like Swami Vivekananda and of course our rich spiritual & cultural heritage.
