It looks like Panasonic built this model, very similar to the Panasonic AG 1950, that was VHS, and this one based on SVHS. Even the head numbers, VEH are cross referenced to Panasonic.

Is the mechanism in the FS1000 the same as in some of the portable panasonic VCRs like the NV-180 and AG6400? (except with a different cassette carriage since those are too load) It looks very similar.

Yes , this mechanism was also used in NV-180 and NV-900HD.

I don't know much about the NV-X10000, it's very rare. Some people in Japan said that the NV-X10000 and NV-V10000 are the same but the intended use is different, perhaps specialized for educational use.

Misu i comments on ur thosiba A-900 i have same model i did gear alignment as showing But still problem is its won't accept tape I see its pushing inside but somewhere stuck what to do and please show me mode switch direction please help i am stressed
