Not a lot of the people I've seen Harari with are. I saw him with Thomas Friedman, and Friedman came across as cheesy and uninspired. I'd like to see Harari debate Steven Pinker, who has both many similar and many very different views, but is kind of a jackass who needs to be taken down a peg.

That's the vulnerability that we risk, and the harm we may inflict under such an influence can be much greater on a collective scale. I personally challenge the thought that we should allow for these technologies to be constructed into existence. I recognise that a public ban can be subverted by government/military secrecy, and that the appeal to prevent the construction of such technologies is useless - but if we're unable to prevent a seemingly mandatory necessity (even unspoken) for equipping every single living being with the latest technology - it will be impossible to prevent a catastrophic failure of humanity where artificial intelligence/computation hacks humans on a broad scale to unfathomable fates and ends.
