The Bee Gees would make anyone want to dance to their music it had power. Even if I can't dance . When I heard their music I just couldn't help it. That group was the best.
I absolutely love the Bee Gees! There so amazing! One of my favourite bands of all time! Especially during the 70's amazing Disco era!!!! I grew up with the Bee Gees as a child during one of the music eras of all time!

They are very talented songwriters and artists. They’re amazing men and gorgeous to boot. It’s a shame Americans didn’t like the disco period. Their music was absolutely fantastic no matter what period.
America loved the disco period. Everyone and their mother did disco songs-not good ones like the Bee Gees did.People got fed up and the disco backlash was born. The Bee Gees music wrongly got caught up in the backlash so radio stations censored them, and their records were burned.That was wrong and sad.It took them 5 years to overcome the disco backlash. This is when they did albums for other renowned artists. It was a very smart move. The 3 brothers would write the music and Barry ,Albhy Galuten, and Karl Richardson would become the production team, and worked hands on with the artist to complete production of the albums. Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers, and Diana Ross had very successful singles and albums.because of the Gibb Brothers!
What? Americans loved disco! I was one of them and we were out several nights a week, all around the country, under the sparkly ball dancing our asses off! (If only mine had stayed off!) I don't understand how you came to that conclusion, except for the ridiculous "disco-shaming" by rock & punk purists (this was happening just as much in the UK). Unfortunately, the musuc industry became intimidated and that's what killed disco. Truth is, we still love disco!

Lynsey Adams - I thought it was wrong not to have two separate polls, split between before and after 1970. They are so different. If you go to The Nations Favourite Bee Gees Song 2011 Part 1 in the comments I have done two separate lists of my favourites. If you are still fond of their disco period songs you will not like my list from that period, but I always liked their songs before 1970 best. Best wishes from the UK

I love the way . Barry screams his heart out while singing when he was younger....now he can no longrr do that..part of aging perhaps....but its okay he still sings beautifully and still can capture discriminating hearts.....
I am 85 and been fan since the sixties. Did not have all this information then. It is so nice to watching so many stories about the Brothers Gibbs. Sad and happy years. I can’t pick a favorite song. Love them all!!!
I must be the only one who thinks “Alive” should’ve been #1. My favorite song from 4yo...on up til now. What amazing talent from that whole family...and horrible happenings which bestowed upon them, taking them all so young. Although...they each led a very full life which some people don’t live in an entire lifetime. And death is really only sad for those left behind.

I just finished watching all 4 parts and am waiting for #5, please bring out #5..., I know it must be a hard one to put together. Loosing Maurice and Robin, and have already lost Andy Gibbs. The Bee Gees have always been in my heart and one of my favorite groups. My Condolences to you Barry and to your wife and all the family's of your brothers. I sort of rediscovered The Bee Gees in my late 40s and gained a new respect for the tremendous depth of many of their song’s lyrics, especially the early work, along with just great music. The Bee Gees have few comparisons within their genre of rock/disco/pop & incredible staying power with tunes and words of their music that are just timeless. And genuine talent was at the heart ❤️ of their success that started in their childhood & continued with determination, bumps, tragedies and lots of hard work. And they were simply NICE GUYS who worked hard and deserve all the accolades they’ve had and still get today. Barry, we love you and we know you miss your bros so deeply & believe too that they are there with you whenever you sing. God bless.

It turned out the nation's fave was How Deep is Your Love, followed at No.2 with You Win Again, 3rd was Massachusetts. Personally, I love First of May and Spirits Having Flown and they weren't in the Top 20 either.
"I Started a Joke" is more of a personal favorite to a lot of people, but not really the type to be a commercial hit. There are so many Elton John songs like that.
Staying alive is my number one song overall and thank God that the producer didn't put that slow part right in the middle of a dance song it would have ruin it
There is an upload from the demo of the slow bridge version. Yes it ruins the groove by slowing down, but when it speeds back up, the build up to the return to the original Tempo is amazing but the key of the song changed at the end. many have tried to splice it into the original version but it doesn't work as the re-up tempo is a full step down from the main tempo. However the demo version oddly works on it own and should have been released as a reprise track

It's surprising that Fanny(Be Tender With My Love) isn't on this list. I confess, I just recently with the documentary on HBO heard Massachusetts and I do think it is a hauntingly beautiful song. But I have always loved Barry Gibbs vocals on Fanny.
I always loved listening to the Bee Gees since I was 12/13. Used to listen to them on Radio Luxemburg and they often were performing on Beat Club. After migrating to Australia I found out they used to live in Brisbane. I was lucky to see Barry Gibb in concert in 2014. How I wish I could have seen all three brothers performing.
