I’m bookmarking this video for next year’s seed ordering. I’m trying to replace my yard grass with bee friendly alternatives (alter natives).

That's a great thing to be working on -- I'm really glad that my video can help you plan what you want to do! As an aside, I have MANY bookmarked videos for similar purposes. :-)

Before finding your video, I bought wild strawberry (fragaria virginiana) and Eastern Bluestar (amsonia tabernaemontana) to add early spring blooms to my garden. Got the seeds from Prairie Moon. Now I added Early Buttercup and Golden Alexander from your suggestions. Thanks for the ideas!

Your presentations are excellent. While I understand your wisdom about ''ripping out the non-natives'' I feel like a monster when battling some of the first flowers I even learned to love and identify when I was....maybe three. Now, 70 years later, it hurts sometimes (much like everything else.) The little side comments you make about climate and pollinators, etc. are really helpful.

I'm glad to hear my little side comments are helpful and that you get something from my videos! Also, I absolutely understand sentiments about some non-natives that you grew up with. For a few years growing up, I had this fort under a forsythia bush -- every time I see a forsythia now, I get a little pang in my heart! I suppose I'm hoping that if everyone gets native plants in their landscapes that future generations will have a similar pang in their hearts for native plants!

i wonder if planting the "carrion" trilliums under my pawpaw trees would help with pollination (they are also carrion type flowers)

Good idea. Must try.

Well now that's an interesting idea. Fill a spot in your yard with the carrion flower smell for that type of pollinator -- might increase pollination indeed. I'd be interested to know how it works if you try it!
