I'm several days late on this one due to Hurricane Ian, but it's finally done! In this video I demonstrate all of the new instruments in Native Instrument Komplete 14, which musical examples for each instrument. I also demonstrate a few of the expansion packs as well, but there are SO MANY of them I couldn't demonstrate them all. I also give my review of the pros and cons at the end. Timestamps are included in the description. Enjoy!
Thanks for this. NI should be making this sort of video themselves. It's so hard to tell what is new in the package, what value the titles can provide other than NI's own lame descriptions. This kind of thing really helps.
Thank you for this. I"ve been scouring RU-vid last week or so to help me decide if I go for K14 Standard update or Ultimate upgrade and this is the best video I've found. Love the way you break everything down by versions with a small demo. Fantastic.
🔔I really appreciate your way of making your RU-vid channel! And this was no exception! Your really good! I feel like you are doing this for musicians not for sound engineers. I happen to be a musician! 😀Thanks! (I think I will do the NI upgrade) 🎶
I think I would call this omnosphere 3 .. it's truly amazing for underscores .. it just fills up the space ... amazing and multi dementional Iam using it with Logic and Valhalla supermassive
Not just a logic issue, I work in pro tools and Kontakt has the same issue when trying to start or stop playback when it’s selected. Definitely something they should fix.
It's quite good, isn't it. I agree with you re: Con 3. Because I can't find them I forget they are there. It'd be nice to be able to find them as easily as everything else.
I have a question. I have been using Komplete 14 select for a while now. Recently got an offer on Komplete 13 Ultimate Collectors Edition. Question is, will Kontakt 6 run properly without any problem or will Kontakt 7 player take over kontakt 6?
Just installed it on my M2 iMac Air. Totally bummed that Absynth won’t work in Komplete on Apple silicone. Worse yet, I can’t seem to not load it as a plug in so when I click on an Absynth preset it brings up a warning dialog on the computer, dragging the entire workflow to a grinding halt. Edit: it does work as a stand alone, just not as a plug in (which means it’s just teasing you).
@@jess4drums13 it may be cheaper to buy 13 and then update to 14. for instance, musicians friend is selling 13 ultimate for $599. the update to 14 ultimate is $399.
I purchased Native Instruments KOMPLETE 13 ULTIMATE Collector's Edition and wanted to purchase 14, is there a Native Instruments KOMPLETE 14 ULTIMATE Collector's Edition? And NI-Support for sales help?
so I haven't downloaded FL studios yet, Is everything you are using to make this already in FL studios? Or do I need a bunch of paid plug ins? sorry for newb question! Your videos definitely got me interested in producing better music!
Because there's not really much of a difference between Kontakt 6 and Kontakt 7 visually. Everything is functionally the same, although I'm sure there are under the hood improvements. They moved the save, preferences, and interface/pane controls from the right to the left. The only thing that is new visually is the "content browser" but I don't use it at all, because it forces you to choose a preset within the instrument in order to load the instrument. I'd rather just load the instrument, then choose the preset from the instrument menu. It basically just gives you a big version of the side pane that is searchable by keyword.
@@MusicTechHelpGuy Oh okay well I hope they fix this issue because I'm about to purchase the update to Komplete 14 Ultimate from 13 Ultimate and I would love to enjoy using the new beautiful content browser. Thank you for your helpful reply I appreciate you. God bless
I rarely use ready made loops in my final project. But if i want to develop an idea for say a synth lead, i can slap loops on it to develop and build my own loop from the instruments down the road. But the loops itself are just a minor addition to the very versatile prpduction techniques and sounds you get out of this package
Wow! I can't believe I missed that! Yes, it's Ultimate as I show around the 1:07 mark. I didn't realized I typed the word "Advanced" in the music example titles! Thanks for pointing that out.
Idk... Lot of this is not needed to be honest. That drill lib for example you can't use anything I heard from here to build drill... A lot is for show and movie composing. You can consider to build some mainstream sounds.
My problem with NI is that still everything sounds like a demo from a cheap Japanese synthesiser. There are small plugin makers (also free ones) who makes way better sounding stuff...
I agree. I rarely hear this point of view about NI's sound engine. I started thinking I was being too picky or I was the only one who noticed. It's like an overall degrade of quality when playing a high number if not all instruments and sounds. I can't place my finger right on it or articulate the character but I know it's not my setup because I've been putting up with it for over a decade and dodo me stays loyal and purchases Ultimate Collectors in search of the fun. They're marketing is amazing I'll have to admit.
And I do love many other aspects of their products. I have to take some of that back. They have some excellent sounding items but many just ok sounding as well. I think the high numbers of content / sound packs etc. they push out keeps sales up but I'd prefer they take a step back and focus on elevating the sound and efficiency going forward. Massive is used in countless tracks so take a play out of that book NI coders. I'm done now. Thanks for listening ya'll. Word!🙂
Wow!, I have been off the grid for 20 years with production and it appears NI, drum monkey, unison midi pack and the like 13:25 have watered down and cheapened the whole music production game. How do you really gage a persons talent? By how fast they can download and tweek sounds and patterns that others have already created and I thought sampling 30 years ago was cheating. Wow! I am speechless, no wonder people are selling beats/tracks for 1$ on some online site. It is going to all come to a implosion on itself…this software/AI/machine learning will soon completely eliminate the need for engineers, producers, musicians and even singers. What a freaking sad paradoxical irony. Now I now why so many A list engineers and producers are on RU-vid doing training video’s cause there bread and butter industry has been absolutely cannibalize by technology
In the upper left, right next to the Kontakt logo, there's a button (two vertical lines, and one diagonal line). Click that, and it will close the new "content browser". I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it's annoying.
@@yoelwww There's another button at the top that allows you to hide and show the side panel. The fourth one from the left, when you click on it, allows you to hide and show the side panel.
@@MusicTechHelpGuy btw just saw a video of someone using the content browser and he made a good point, it allows you to quickly click on a preset and preview it so you don’t have to load up a library to preview presets, I still wouldn’t have it as my default view but it can be really helpful.
