That's because they wanted to manifest wishes rather than look at reality. They're all globalists, so they assume no country can survive without globalism, or at least, that's what they want the world to believe so they can control every country under globalism. This is why Russia is even more of an affront to them now that it is self sustaining. They can't have the example of a self sustaining country exist for others to see, because it might encourage others to also be self sustaining, which means there are no levers to pull to control them.

I recommend you invest in his books, especially the one about Putin, and the latest "Russia Art of War". In any case, there is no one in the public debate who is so grounded, Andrei Martyanov has experiences/knowledge that are unassailable, but I think he is tiresome. 30 percent of the time is spent complaining about the Western elite. The wisdom of Jaques Baud, Holistic and I learn something new everything I listen to him. . It is not as complicated as we might think. Jaques Baud worked with NATO in Ukraine, at a high level. It seems to him that he perceived NATO to help Ukraine manage its security, not challenge Russia or war. There were probably many others who did not plan for this to become a war. Other forces CIA, think thanks, US state department and the elite in the UK. I'm making an assumption, but maybe Baud was surprised after he left the organization that they got into such a mess.

To date there are currently 32 NATO member states. Three of these NATO member states have nuclear weaponry capability in just about every form & mode of transport. The USA is one of the three NATO member Countries who possess nuclear weapons the other two are the UK and France. These nuclear weapons are set, if not already, to be shared with other NATO members who are prepared to accept this horrendous burden. At present there are just over 3 million active NATO military personnel and 7 million in reserve. They also all share their immense military firepower and innovative wartime technologies. Russia had approximately 1.2 million military personnel prior to the illegal invasion of Ukraine, this figure has obviously dropped since. That said, we understand that Russia is still attempting recruiting from fleeing Russian nationals. Russia’s military hardware is extremely dated and on occasion unreliable. Please do not believe all what you may hear and read regarding NATO countries being depleted of ammunition. This is a war of information and each Country will only divulge what they want you to believe. This goes for either side btw.. When Russia rolled its tanks across the Ukrainian border in 2021 for the so called ‘special military operation’ they thought it would take just 72 hours to overwhelm Ukraine. We are now in Year 3 of this conflict and Russia are nowhere near to establishing control of little old Ukraine. So I say again, NATO forces would absolutely obliterate Russia if they were foolish enough to attack a NATO member state. Just fyi, NATO and Eastern European Countries have no intention of randomly invading / attacking Russia. Here endeth the lesson..

They understand importance of keeping military industrial capacity, reserves e.c.t. on the necessary level at all times. Should need arrise to defend Russia. They kept obligatory military service, so all man above 18 had at least basic Infantry military training. Armed Forces are 1.3 milion and 2 milion reservists. Europe will pay a huge price because when it realizes that it is in deep trouble (by its own doing no less!) it will be too late to revert back. And the "rebuilding" will take years, especially because making amends with the Russians after how abusive and haughty these leaders have been towards Russia, it will take a long time to forgive, if ever. There's no room for peace after such a war, at that point it would have to be the complete destruction of one side or the other (or both). Russia certainly wouldn't step back if it was winning, because it would know that half measures would only result in an eventual return of the threat, and it would have definitely already suffered heavy losses, making peace not an option, because not only would peace make it look weak, it would do nothing to dissuade future attacks. The only way a war with Russia could possibly end (outside of near total annihilation of both sides) is if there was a complete restructuring of western leadership and values, which obviously would only happen at the end of a brutal nuclear war. Outside of that, western leadership has become soo blind to their own failings, that they can't see any solution other than either the annihilation of Russia, or Russia being turned into a puppet state. So it seems the die is already cast, even though actual full scale war may be years or decades away. In a war with Russia, they don't have the population numbers to take it slow or make it last forever, even with their economy, so they won't play the games that NATO wants to play. Even with as crippled as the US and EU is, that's still over 1.2 billion people vs 140 million. When you're in a fight against someone 6 times the size of you, you don't play games. And that's where the west has largely miscalculated Russia's resolve.

That was a very good analysis. The USA, GB, and the EU underestimated Russian economic strength. They thought they could swiftly destroy the Russian economy with sanctions. All their plans to Balkanise Russia and exploit its rich resources fell apart when the sanctions failed and it has backfired badly on the West. Now it is we in the West who are economically in ruins.

@peoplez129
@peoplez129 Месяц назад
Turns out globalism doesn't work. When you need parts from 40 different countries, and make almost nothing yourself, it's logistically very hard to get stuff done, and none of those supply chains are guaranteed, while it might only take a loss of one of those supply chains to ruin production of a whole bunch of things. This is where Russia wins, it doesn't need foreign supply chains to make everything the country needs. That's also mainly why the US and EU want to crush it, because it's the last bastion of countries that are self sustaining. Russia might export energy, but it doesn't need to export energy, because keeping all that energy to itself will only mean it's awash in energy richness, making that energy very cheap and accessible for its own people. A self sustaining country will always prosper, even if it does lose outside income, and Russia is an example of that, and globalists can't have that example exist for the world to see that globalism is a ponzi scheme.
@PhiloSurfer
@PhiloSurfer Месяц назад
@@peoplez129 Globalisation works very well for decades. No problem with logistics for decades. It is when the US and its gang decides to make enemies out of their suppliers that the supply chain broke down. Even as we speak, iphones are made with parts from dozens of countries. Even with the sanctions that the US is imposing on China, and controls of parts to China, iphone manufacturing is humming along. Bottomline - globalism works. It starts to fail when geopolitics is involved and a certain country starts to use the Tonya Harding strategy of competition.

Such a brilliant programme. Thanks. See Dominic Cummings’ views in Politico. There is one point I will raise. Col Baud mentioned that USA advised Europe aagainst oil sanctions. Many feel USA blew up Nordstream. If so, it appears USA played a very large role in oil sanctions against Russia.

As a person who has performed numerous economic and statistical analyses, and I say this with all modesty as I had and have no delusions of grandeur in this department, Monsieur Baud’s discussion of Germany’s so-called fiscal woes are somewhat misguided in that rising deficits are not the real problem, but problems with lack of currency sovereignty probably are or will become so. The Euro is a major part of the problem as it was designed to function along neoconservative constraints rather than as a flexible tool of government monetary and fiscal policy which is possible with (say) the US dollar or even the Indian rupee. Also, should international corporations headquartered in Deutschland remain there, the capital flows should return even if much of the production moves offshore (that is, outside the Euro zone). The DAX, for instance, which I watch closely, is quite buoyant despite the crisis in the East and elsewhere or the supposed plans of companies like Siemens to relocate their facilities to China or other more amenable places, ergo, if the money returns, it can potentially be taxed. That’s just one of many vectors at work.

Very good summary. What Col. Baud describes is not the collapse of the West, which will not happen, but the eventual collapse of seven decades of ideologically driven political economy. What he describes as "irrationality", can only be understood if one can discern the difference between ideals, "market Driven Society", and reality, "Functional Society".The Global South, over seven decades, has not been able, productively, to afford any kind of ideological pretension, indeed, the collapse of the Soviet Union was symbolic of that reality. Reforms in the political economy of the Global South, over 40 years, transformed those societies towards functionality-driven-decision-making. The West, on the other hand, is still involved with the vanity of trying to prove theoretical concepts, even when there is evidence of their impracticability, or "irrationality", leading to cumulative societal dysfunctionality. At the moment, the West, instead of engaging with the urgency and necessity of a new "reformation", is projecting its internal dissonance onto the Global South, for fear of the inevitable radical changes in the decision making institutions that such major reform will produce.

Even ordinary Russians don't know how powerful and how big the Russian Federation is. If you live in Moscow or St.Peterburg, the Russian Federation Pacific Coast, Siberia, Central and Southern Russian Federation Republics seem like on another planet. Yet, all these places, republics have their own issues and have own governing...but all culminating into the central Russian Federation Parliament, The Duma. The Russian Federation is so big and diverse with over 200 different nationalities, that it challenges the mind to extremes.

“Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.” (Voltaire) Netanyahu's message to Mr Zelenskyj: All Jews are equal, but some Jews are more equal than others. "Steiner... Yes! YES! STEINER WILL LEAD THE COUNTEROFFENSIVE! IT WILL ALL BE FINE! FINE! (trembling hands removes glasses)" - a line from Mr Zelens'kyj's favourite movie. * "The war has ended, not necessarily to the advantage of Japan" - Emperor of Japan addressing the nation after (un)conditional capitulation in 1945 * Mr Zelens'kyj's swan song. I am standing alone on the stage in front of the drawn curtain. The empty prompter's booth... and box-office. Deafening silence. No limelight. No fans. No applause. No flowers. Disappointed audience have left a long time ago. A cleaner is about to finish his work. The piano lid has slammed shut. Unbearable pain has brought me back to my senses. The show is over. *** "When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become king. But the palace becomes a circus!" - Turkish proverb *** "Put him on stage and remove a ladder" - Chinese proverb referring to bad performers. *** "There was once a comedian who killed people with stolen jokes and was hanged by his wits' end." - H.Warner *** "How pathetic the jester is, on the king's throne, How stupid the people who allowed it." - Robert Burns 1759-1796 * “Ukraine shouldn’t sign anything with them at all - and let’s just fight.” - Boris Johnson, Kyiv on Apr. 9, 2022 * "Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has strongly rejected the claims that he interfered with peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in the spring of 2022." - Kyiv Post, January 11, 2024 "Если с вами в окопах нет детей чиновников, то это не война, а бизнес" - Жак Фреско Армія, в якій кількість дезертирів перевершує кількість новобранців - це вже не армія. The war makes the military industrial complex and the chair holders very rich. The USA and Europe are acting like world war 2 never happened. Russia did not exploit Africa to the contrary they helped Africa when the west refused like the Asian dam. During this time the Europeans exploited Africa and they got very rich. Belgium got very rich by exploiting the Kongo and France got cheap uranium that gave a wonderful life to the French people. All that is forgotten by the European Public.

Capital can no longer accumulate fast enough to keep the system going. unfortunately metaphors do not apply to complex reality, its just not that simple..... I think you are referring to how irrational the war mongers are and how desperate they are to risk everything with their nihilism. The strategy has already been developed and used successfully by both Stalin and Mao. Mao's military strategy is readily available online in many books. The basic strategy is to overwhelm the enemy through careful planning, something they are not capable of.
