TJ thank you so much, long time after effects user but cant afford to buy the software. One thing that I am looking for is animating text. Are there ways in Natron to animate the actual typing or entrance of the text more than just simple transforms? Maybe another tutorial :)
Hi! very nice channel. I dare to ask> can one do audio reactive animations/video in natron? can animations be synchronized programatically to audio, using for example, fft or audio volume/amplitude? is there a scripting language for natron? thanks in advance
Can you create short small basic movies / stories with this? so if i have the images and audio ready and i just wanted to add some cool effects to the images and stuff.
Hi TJ, And thanks for the great Natron tutorials. I have went through each one of them multiple times to absorb everything. Question.: I have a finished video made with OpenShot. If I read this video into Natron and want to add various 'source' effects to this video, how do i make each node(Shadertoy) capable of adding it's effects at a certain time frame to this video? In other words do i need to add a node(along with maybe a merge node) to be able to do keyframes, to the video for Shadertoy,or is this simple not possible. Thanks.
Hi Barry, great question. Its best to use Natron for individual scenes, and then combine those scenes using a video editor like Shotcut. One way to make effects happen at a certain time is to just right click on the 'Mix' option at the bottom of the effect, and select 'Set Key', 1 is on and 0 is off, so it can be used to toggle an effect/node being applied or not at a given point in time.
Many thanks for that nice Tutorial. I am just a beginner and I enjoyed this tutorial. Very nice explained and I am wondering, why this Natron is not known in germany. Once more: Many thanks and i will follow the next lessons......
Hey, love your Natron tutorials. Do you have one solving solving for Lens Barrel Distortion? I've seen some for Nuke, but the LensDistortion node is different in natron. Please help!
Good question. Natron is great for advanced effects, but does pair well with a standard video editor like Kdenlive or Shotcut. I'll usually use Natron together with Kdenlive.
Hi TJ, i always had this problem, whenever i try to render to MP4, it's said can only write RGBA or RGB, i have double check that all my file sources is RGB. Please help, TQ
i opened natron installer, didint show up (i have windows 10 & opengl 2.0 in my pc) tried the no installer zip file one, looked in the directory and found the app and works well
If you mean for video editing, it is capable, but it would be easier to do standard video editing / transitions / splicing in something like kdenlive or openshot.
@@kosinsinsin actually I do some work with blender and studied a bit Davinci it is a decent software as a complentary i feel like Natron and nuke goes specific
