Nice mentioning of Lucy’s mom dying around the same time the dragons supposedly disappeared because it really isn’t a coincidence. There 2 are connected but you won’t learn that until the final arc when everything comes together.

I’mma defend my girl, Erza, real quick. She has PTSD from Acnologia and so it’s understandable why she got distracted, especially with another unforeseen circumstance being the arrival of Igneel and then the two dragons fighting. I feel like we can see why she got distracted.

I am surprised that they didn’t believe that much in Natsu because Natsu defeated literally every leader or most of the leaders in all Arc’s alone (except Hades) but still I‘m kinda surprised they didn’t believe in him. I also think that at this Arc Classes like A or S Class doesn’t matter anymore xD

11:12 really liked seeing these two talk, it gave Kyouka more depth to her. Interesting character

Erza is not distracted, she is just amazed, remember that they have a trauma with what happened on the island... Even Zeref's demons are amazed because Anaclogy is no one's ally, he is a solitary dragon that destroys everything in its path and also could damage Tartaros' plans for something. The king of the underworld urgently asks Kyoka to join the system with her life... But Titania is not going to hold back.

That's the typical manga/comic/book to anime/film problem. What might flow nice and quick in static images or written text, can easily feel slow and pausing, once brought into moving pictures. Though to be fair, the moment Kyouka landed up-side-down on the orb, it was already too late, so even if Erza had reacted quicker, it wouldn't have changed much about that particular aspect... however, even before Kyouka merged with the orb, they already knew they were on a timer to the activation of the Faces, so the lack of urgency is still bothering me to some degree. The more annoying thing to me is how Acnologia just lets Igneel and Natsu have a little chat for multiple mintues, rather than keeping up the attacks. What we've seen and heard of Acnologia so far would suggest that he's an honour-less mass murderer, and thus should try to take advantage of Igneel being down one useable hand and having to protect a squishy little Human, while fighting. But nope... he just does nothing, as if he was waiting for an honourable duel to go back to being fair or something.

So one slight flaw to your theory that you have to account for is whatever happened went completely unnoticed by everybody otherwise it would be common knowledge. Its good that you are piercing together the various moving parts and questioning everything. fairytale is very goid at executing Chekhov’s gun as are a number of anime.

Seeing Natsu and Igneel fight against Anaclogy will always be a visual delight, it was only tears when seeing the reunion of the pink-haired boy who was desperately looking for his father, Igneel the great fire dragon, I love you Hiro Mashima I will always carry in my heart fairy tail and with this chapter the prophecy of the magical games the festival of the dragon king is fulfilled, simply epic. 💘🧚‍♀️☝️
