@@naturalwhetstones There’s plenty of sharpening sites to visit, “BURR” and “Never a Dull Moment” immediately pop to mind. They’re fine, easily understood but minimally informative. Yours are a whole other level of gravitas, without that “sponsored” commercial subtlety. It’s all “take notes, and learn something.”
Thank you for your great work. Can i ask you if you ever came across of the Orange lined Natsuya in a smaller size?I wish to buy one with a smaller size.
They are out there for sure! I do see Natsuya though usually in this larger size which is standard for them. I would keep an eye on KKF forums as I see Natsuya to up for sale often there at decent prices
Do you mean just a picture of them or where to get them? Since they are each unique it isn't something I can easily put a page up to where you can get a very similar product. You have to work with seller individually to find one that performs the way you want. I do have this page though for that (I am not affiliated with any of them so YMMV): naturalwhetstones.com/blade-sharpening/reputable-japanese-natural-stone-jnat-nagura-sellers/ The only social I have is my own personal one, youtube and my website are the only place I am really active for this content.
@@naturalwhetstones Thank you very much for answering, My knives are white and blue steel, which stones would you personally recommend. I just started wanting to buy natural stones, I've always used synthetic ones.
@@marioperezmadriz4844 Education on the topic is pretty important so I would ensure you have read through the progression concept of Aratoishi -> Nakatoishi -> Awasedo on the website. From there, my general suggestion would be a Synthetic up to 1k, a Nakatoishi (or two), and an Awasedo (or two) depending on how many steps you find comfortable. Are you polishing or just sharpening? That matters a lot in how many steps you need. If you are just sharpening, you can likely get away with a single Nakatoishi and a single Awasedo. Further conversation may be easier through email if you want: naturalwhetstones.com/contact-me/
Hmm yes and no. Binsui is a wider range of quality, I do think Natsuya is a nicer stone. However, I think 50%+ of the cost is the looks alone, so in that way yes.
Here is a mines list: naturalwhetstones.com/knives-and-razors/japanese-knife-cladding-and-finishes/japanese-natural-stone-mines-list/ Mines for awasedo I am guessing is what you mean. If so, many produce fantastic stones. Many also produce stinkers. Buying from a reputable vendor helps a lot for testing. You doing razors or knives?
