Thank you. I just got a new fur baby, 12 wk.old, 3 lb. Shih Tzu Pomeranian mix with dark gunk in ears, & she's scratching like crazy. Her skin & fur seem dry also. She was eating a GMO corn, wheat kibble! I have her on fresh meats & veggies & she's enjoying the real food! Thanks for your teachings.
@@debracole3699 Yes, a real problem. It takes holding them very still and having a hand to squirt the drops. Perhaps you can wrap them in a towel. Hold thier head with one hand and administer with the other.
Use a towel, wrap him up like a baby being sure to get those legs tucked in. Once he's wrapped up, you can handle them like a little baby, not much they can do...
I have the same problem. My cat is a feral tom cat and very strong. He came to the door 4 months ago, just starving and at the time afraid even of us. He's come a long way since then and now is pretty tame with us but the suspicion that you are going to hurt him with anything you try to do is super real to him. You might get away with a drop the first time but you certainly won't get even close the second time. Same for wrapping him up, seems to me that is for people who raised their fur cat baby since they were little. You won't get anywhere near trying to wrap my cat up the second time. He has an ear infection that's getting worse, ear mites are gone with Revultion a neighbor gave. Took him to vet and he prescribed antibiotic drops for the infection, while him knowing it was a feral cat and not that tame, the directions said 5-7 drops in each ear 2 X's a day for 10 days, which we weren't aware of until picked up the medication the day after. Maybe it should have read -'' I will be at your house morning and evening for the 10 days prescribed days to administer''. LOL
Hi Katie! I am going to try this formula and then let you know! I'm an herbalist (for humans) and I have been wanting to put some frankincense in his ear, but I didn't know which carrier liquid would be best. I am going out to get some distilled water today to start trying this.
I agree! I started a colloidal silver treatment on my cat yesterday (colloidal silver alone can treat an ear infection and I don't know about essential oils in cats - some say it's ok, some say it's toxic 🤔) and she was scared by the spray sound in her ears. She was restrained by my husband but would nevertheless be so startled and tried to escape. Maybe drops in the ear canal would be better, or using a cotton with the colloidal silver on it)
@@acemarie3017 I tried the spray and it didn't go very well...and then the drops (the first ear was ok but she was extremely startled and the second was more difficult), then I just put some on a cotton and dabbed her ears. It was not easy, especially that she doesn't like to be held. So I gave up, just added the colloidal silver to her food. She doesn't have any issues anymore.
