Just a quick narrative on the pond. Shows the early set up of the bog (haven’t put the plants in that yet). This is what things look like. For those of you who have seen these perfect “sterile” natural swimming pools, I want you to know the natural swimming pool is different. It’s clear and healthy, but there is nature. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts.
I want to bring to you guys footage that is valuable so please let me know what you would like to see.

We are going to be building a house this year, and I think this is exactly the type of pool I want to build next year. Thank you for sharing your experiences with this. I think you need some more plants to combat that algae no?

Hi, I’m excited for you! That’s for the kind words. Yes, I certainly need more plants. In fact I just bought some. Going to add more and more thru this spring. I was a little slow to add them for two reason. Wanted to see which ones I liked / thrived & secondly I wanted to be careful with the type of plant and how aggressive it is.

How do you keep it full? Just fill with well water when needed? Wait for rain? Filtered water? Don’t worry about it?

In the winter the rain keeps it full. In the summer I top it off. Not much different than a pool really.

I thought maybe tap water would disturb the health of the water, algae, etc. But it doesn’t sound like it is that sensitive.

I’ve heard that it can be, but I think it’s relative to size. This is over 30,000 gallons so topping it off doesn’t seem to be an issue. If it were a smaller system it very well could be an issue.
