your channel is so important to me....i suffer from depression and anxiety so i'm under quite a lot of stress most of the time and taking time out of my day to take care of myself is a big deal for me so i usually don't, but whenever i watch your videos i think "i want to feel healthy and happy like that" so i tried some of the things you suggest, like teeth whitening in this video, and it helps me feel calmer, even in just a small way. I'm not the kind of person who stops to enjoy the little things in life because having a depressive existential view on life holds you back from things like that, but your videos help to inspire and motivate me to try and be happy, so thank-you! ^___^ x
you certainly are not. :/ i can feel you, also with these videos helping you.... it's so nice to have them to get us back on track. i feel so unhealthy and as if something is eating me from inside because of the mental stress my body has to deal with. i dedicade a huge part of my life to health and fitness, or at least i try to do as much as possible. :)
Baking soda is quite abrasive and can wear down enamel if used too often. I LOVE OIL PULLING!!! I was so skeptical (the name sounded stupid to me and it did seem to make any sense at first) But I am so glad I tried it because it really does work. I use unrefined coconut oil and just let it melt in my mouth, then swish for 20 min. and I only need a teaspoon.
I am subscribing. You're so professional. Your videos are clean and concise. I am looking forward to binge watching the rest of your videos like a true youtub-er. ; D
Hi Sarah! It really depends for the oil pulling! I would stick with it for a couple months at least :) Yes I think the baking soda is fine if you don't overdue it!
I've used coconut oil+baking soda as a permanent toothpaste for about 2-3 months now and I haven't experienced any damage on my teeth or getting sensitive teeth. I'm super happy with my results and I have much whiter teeth now than what I had before with regular, "whitening" toothpastes. I add about 3-4 full tablespoons of coconut oil and about 2 tablespoons of baking soda. I always have more oil than baking soda (very important)!! Funny enough I use an electric toothbrush but that is only because my dentist recommended it a few years ago and I notice a difference in both time and hygiene :)
The baking soda can actually repair the enamel. I watched a RU-vid video several months back of a woman who had severe tooth decay on 2 of her bottom molars. She started applying baking soda on the teeth every night before bed, and within I think it was about 2 weeks of this regimen, her teeth had pretty much filled back in completely. I had a little hole myself in one of my molars (mine wasn't actually a ''cavity'' per se (no black stuff eating at it), but just a little superficial dent in the tooth). I applied baking soda in there for a couple of nights and now have this ''patch'' on my tooth where the hole had been, that actually looks like a clear filling.. except this one is natural and didn't cost me a penny. :)
Interesting! I'm afraid to use too much baking soda in my mouth though because it feels like my teeth will experience some kind of corrosion. I guess it's because of the difference in pH but I don't want to risk anything. Baking soda is very high in pH and I think both my gums and skin is too sensitive for that. I've tried using baking soda on my face but it got so red and irritated. But I'm very happy with my toothpaste :D
MishalMooreLover Well baking soda is a base, with a pH of about 9. A lot of foods such as cruciferous vegetables and asparagus have a pH of around 10, and I think most nutritionists will tell us that those are amoung the healthiest foods for us to eat.. ;) What's bad for our teeth is the acid in many of the ''foods'' we eat today (for example coffee = 4, wine and sodas = 3, all refined sugars are acidic as well, juices of course, virtually all processed foods, etc..). Bases are actually very good for our bodies which are usually too acidic seeing as most of the things we ingest are acidic. Bases are basically just high in minerals (again, vegetables are full of them ;)), if they aren't minerals period, as is baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). So while baking soda IS ''abrasive'' (this is how it gets its cleaning properties), it isn't ''corrosive'' to the teeth (strong acids are). As a mineral, our teeth actually love it. Mixing it with oil doesn't allow the particles to break down though I would believe, whereas they would in water. It's your call of course. Just advocating alkaline foods and that we shouldn't be afraid of them. :) Oh and my face doesn't typically turn red from the baking soda masks, but they do make it effin' tight! It IS potent stuff, I won't argue with you there. ;)
***** I think what I had done personally was just put a little bit of baking soda powder in my palm, and then add just a drop or two of water, just enough to make it into a ''dry paste'' (pasty, but not too liquidy) so I was able to take a little bit between my fingers and apply a patch of it to the tooth. I did it right before bed, after brushing my teeth. If you don't talk or anything after applying it, it's likely that the patch won't disolve too quickly.. but typically when you wake up in the morning you will find that you will have swallowed most of it (if not all) during the night.. ;) If any of the baking soda was still in my mouth in the morning, I'd just brush my teeth to disolve it completely and go about my day as usual.. :)
I tried the turmeric remedy and omg it works really fast! I was about to go buy crest 3d whitening strips but instead I decided to give one of these a shot and my teeth got so much whiter with one go. My teeth are normally pretty white naturally but lately they were becoming pretty yellow for some reason. I used turmeric with water and then after I brushed my teeth with whitening toothpaste and they became even whiter after that. Definitely try it.
L. C. I've used the fresh one and it was really hard to get the yellow spot out from my teeth but i don't know about the powder i think it will be better
You mentioned avoiding coffee and wine, would you advise against drinking quality leafed tea? I quit coffee drinking a year ago to save my teeth, but craving hot drinks so much! Love this!
Also, teeth and tongue gets yellow after brushing, do I finish with regular toothbrush to rid the color or do you guys go out in public with yellow tongues?😂
I started oil pulling 2 weeks ago and I love it. It's very beneficial, killing bad breathe and I am starting to see my teeth start to whiten. I was a bit skeptical about it but I've stayed consistent just to see if I would a difference and I have. I will be trying the baking soda technique as well. I will be changing my toothpaste from the typical commercial brands to organic toothpaste as well.
baking soda is a base and you said strawberrys have acid so wouldnt that just cancel the reaction and plus then there would only be left over plant matter and glucose
THANK YOU SO MUCH, I am definitely interested in turmeric and eating raw. I just love your voice and the way you explain things, your voice is very friendly and soothing. Have a great week. Love and peace. ps Ayurveda is wonderful and could be so beneficial to the world if part of essentials in education. Ommm
Hi Isabella! I think they should be fine for braces! you might want to double check with your orthodontist though :) The only thing is if you whitened your teeth too much with braces, maybe you would notice once you got your braces off? I would think oil pulling would help clean well around the braces xoxo
I used to use baking soda and apple cider vinegar for my teeth. It fizzles and makes a paste. I recommend using it about once a week or two weeks. It helps literally immediately and i noticed a difference after the first use!
I just brushed my teeth with turmeric. Must admit that I was a little sceptic, cuz turmeric stains everything so badly. - But it worked SO WELL. Seriously, after brushing my teeth with turmeric for a couple of minutes, my teeth look much whiter, not yellow at all. Awesome!
Been using the oil pulling method for a few days and have already noticed results! Thank you 😃 I can't wait to give your natural whitening remedies a try!
I use 3D White toothpaste. It works for me but I am not sure what it has in it...probably some horrible chemicals...think I will give the oil pulling a try! Thank you for the excellent quality video!
Also, you can try Garlic. I know it's not pleasant but I tried it and it made my teeth whiter and cleaner ! And you can use it everyday, it doesn't harm your teeth.
My Gramma taught me to use baking soda and peroxide paste to brush with. I like the idea of using the coconut oil in place of the peroxide. Thanks for the other tips. I had no idea about the turmeric. I also use Tom's toothpaste and mouth wash. Love their products!!
I just watched this again. I have been using Auromere, an ayurvedic toothpaste which I had gotten free from iherb, and it instantly whitened my teeth. Never had my teeth whiter! It has neem, peelu, and I think it might even have turmeric in it.
Hi Sarah :), Can you please share with us how you got such beautiful glowing skin!? Also a nail health tutorial would be great too as I have noticed you have very healthy nails.I learn so much from you...thank-you for all your great videos.
seaweed is very good for your teeth, it has fluorine (good for teeth) NOT to be confused with Fluoride that is in our water and toothpaste and is actually very bad for your teeth
I'm doing the mixture of tumeric and bentonite clay. It's pretty inexpensive, I bought everything I needed for $20 Canadian, plus I can whip up a new batch when I needed it. I made a paste with coconut oil as well. The thing is, it tastes vaguely like mustard, and is pretty gritty. (I brush with it, and then use my waterpik flosser twice, and then brush again with normal toothpaste.) It's inexpensive and I've heard that the clay can naturally remineralize your teeth. I used to oil pull, but I found that the oil is ridiculous after. I rather use the tumeric and clay mixture.
I brush my teeth with baking soda everynight....I haven't notice anything bad. But I'm definitely going to start oil pull every morning like you suggest! Great Idea!!
who told you enamel cannot be replaced? Teeth are in a constant state of De-mineralization and re-mineralization depending on what you eat and drink, We can re-mineralize our teeth, and get rid of cavities without them being filled at the dentist. Knowing the ph of teeth is very important for remineralization. It is also important to get rid of infection and bacteria. Xylitol and baking soda are great for this, along with a healthy daily diet.
keira motoki Remineralisation can only remineralise what is still there. You can't add enamel once it's been stripped off. And no, you can't heal cavities once they've gone past the point of being a chalky white spot. Knowing the ph is important for remineralisation, but that is only in the context of your teeth restrengthening after eating a meal. Xylitol is only a help for cavity prevention, not healing. What you're talking about doesn't exist yet. Baking soda as far as I can tell just erodes the top of your enamel. Not the best. Please, stop spreading this fanciful garbage about 'healing cavities'.
keira motoki You can only repair the soft chalky spots on teeth. And even that takes more specialised equipment than baking soda. Once it turns brown it's impossible to heal, grow back or whatever. The only solution is to drill out the decayed enamel and dentin and fill the hole.
You are soooo beautiful! I love your hair and your eyes, your skin is perfect! And you say very intelligent and important thing that we should know! I absolutely love you! Xoxo from chile
Hey :) I recently got into changing my lifestyle, and suddenly I got cross you channel , and well its amazing, you are really inspiring :) thank you for that, all good wishes from Norway :)
I love this! I use Dr. Axe's remineralizing toothpaste formula, got out of the American Dental Industrial Complex and my teeth are so white you can see your reflection. Great recipe and keep up the good work!
your videos are so professional and informative. you seem to really know what you're doing. not my place to say this, just my opinion, but I think you should be more lively. you have great videos but adding some different tones or seeming more lively might get more views. it would also make your videos more interesting and fun to watch. just my opinion. hope you're not offended you're an amazing and beautiful person.
Do you have a favorite store bought toothpaste that you like? I have read up and found that regular toothpaste (Colgate, exc.) strip your teeth and not allow your teeth to remineralize. I would love to know a good tasting Organic or natural toothpaste that I can find at the store. I've tried recipes and they just do not taste good :(
I personally LOVE the green beaver toothpastes. I tried a few of the flavours and ended up liking the mint the best! It helped so much of my tooth sensitivity go away.
Lovely tips! Question: what do you (or any subscribers using natural products) use to brush your teeth on the daily? Right now I'm using a JASON brand toothpaste, but its quite expensive and I don't like the taste, so I was thinking of making a homemade paste with baking soda, salt, and essential oils, but this video makes me uneasy about using baking soda every day?
I am always so happy when you upload a new video! I have chronic fatigue syndrome and your videos have really contributed to my change of lifestyle! Thank you so much! :)
i just tried brushing my teeth with water and turmeric and it worked, i was so bloody surprised. my teeth glowed :) i'm gonna keep doing this every 2-3 days. thank you so much!!!!!!!!!
I think charcoal powder its not too abrasive like baking soda and its so good for whitening your teeths..maybe mix charcoal powder and coconul oil (make a paste) 😁😍
You say that strawberries have some acid, right? if you mix an acid with baking soda, which is basically sodium bicarbonate, you are neutralizing both the acid and base which may remove stains. So I'd say to mix it with sth else! :)
exactly, and never do each one separately after the other either cause will end up with teeth sensitivities and who knows what other damage. One of two treatments has to be picked and then next time one can pick the other, but with time difference...a month...at leeast a week
Hi! A 1000 times thumbs up! Thankyou so much for ALL of your oh so informative videos. Have been oil pulling for some time, so much so that it's become second nature now. Will definitely try the turmeric and the baking soda tips.
Don't know if anybody else mentioned this, but banana peels are great for whitening as well. I've tried it and it works. Peel a banana and take the inside of the peel and rub it across your teeth. It's gummy but leave it on your teeth for a couple of minutes or so then rinse or brush it off. I was surprised by how effective it was. 👍
