Join me today as I try my hand at naturally fermenting pickles. I have made pickles for 25 plus years with a vinegar brine solution and hot water canning methods. I truly enjoy fermented foods and love the gut benefits I receive from eating them. So I thought now was the time to ferment cucumbers in my Ohio Stoneware 1 gallon crock. I will post a follow up video of the daily checking process and how the recipe turns out... Ring that bell to be notified!
RECIPE
4to 5 lbs of cucumbers
small head of garlic
3 TBS Dill weed Dry
6 TBS Dill seed dry
3 bay leaves
3 liters 10% Salt Brine (3L filtered water + 1 1/3 C Salt -sea or canning salt)
Here is where my son purchased my crock...www.ohiostoneware.com/preservi...

Until next time.....

Nourishing Traditions is brilliant! I love all the insights to so many different counties and their fermenting traditions etc and their superb health ... I bought the book for all my family and friends years back, we call it our food bible. Great channel!

They turned out pretty good. .... they are not however as crispy as I would like them to be. Going to try another recipe as soon as I have some back in the garden. 🙂
