When you look at Roc A Fella, they had an aggressive team to help Beanie Sigel & Memphis Bleek get the marketing & promotion they needed to SHINE. Had Nas had a team behind him that pushed the artist that was in his circle, I promise you things would of been DIFFERENT. Nas came in the industry as an ARTIST. He didn’t have the BUSINESS mindset until later in his career. It’s not his fault or Natures fault.

@@thefreakyrobber0 You are missing the point. Nas came in as an individual artist where Jay came in with two partners with a business model! And they turned that business model into a very lucrative company! Nas did not have a Dame Dash that was a visionary, business savvy and made sure that the artist they were signing were getting maximum exposure. Nas didn't have that at all when he started and that's not his fault....Yes years later Roc-A-Fella fell apart but look at the success that MANY of 'THEIR' artists had,not associated artists! AZ was an associated artist that got signed to a deal,Nature also was an associated artist of Nas that was signed...truth be told and it is a uncomfortable truth: If you have a talent, you are responsible for the outcome! For everyone saying Nature fumbled the opportunity by not signing with Nas,you gotta remember Firm era Nas didn’t necessarily have his own label structure up and running. So essentially all Nature needed at that specific point was a co-sign which he already had. You can’t blame him for the Trackmasters move. They showed interest and support so i can see why he felt comfortable doing that. We all know what happens when dope emcees sign to star artists, they usually play the back til their moment has passed then they fade out. He took his chances with the ones that were supplying him with the resources (beats) for better or worse. I don’t blame him. You can’t rely on another man to climb the ladder in an industry where that man is already legend status. That’s a potential conflict of interest. It’s better to succeed or fail on your own merit than years later be blaming Nas for not reaching another level. Just my opinion.

@@halfamic nobody want to say it cause of the caliber of an artist he is but Nas is a snake of a businessman. “Nas is a great artist, but he’s not a great businessman,” said Quan. “This is where different fallouts happen.” Quan’s deal with Atlantic was worth $2.2 million and entitled Nas with at least $220,000 from the signing. Afterwards, Nas gave Quan a 7-album deal and attempted to walk away with 50% of his publishing. The deal also charged him $50,000-60,000 for a Nas feature, even after he “just sold him a hit record for almost little to nothing.” “I remember us beefing over that,” Quan added. “‘No, you’re not getting 50% of my publishing. You shouldn’t get none of my motherf**king publishing. I just sold you a hit record. I didn’t cost nobody no money. I made money for everybody. The f**k you mean you want 50% of my publishing. Papoose almost signed with Nas but kay slay told him no cause he was mad Nas ain't appear in a music video for a song they did together after promising to which I'm sure cost in business opportunities haha. Nas greedy with the money 😂. Don't forget he was heavily trying to blackball cormega but cormega was making serious paper independent and could not be filtered which used to piss Nas off heavily. To Nature's defense Nas was never successful putting on other artists early in his career (Nashawn, Quan, Braveheart etc.) He finally found success when he did it independently with Dave East.

All of them were shady slimes like Nature that weren't trying to build long careers but get rich quick. That's not a Nas problem, that's the smash and grab mentality of QB. Quan admits that he was from the rural South, listening to flashy big record labels buzzing in his ear about how Nas wasn't going to help him and so he got himself out of the Nas contract. You don't know what you're talking about.

Nature's problems are all self inflicted, not Nas at all. He's not taking responsibility for how snake like he was moving for years, going behind people's backs. Trackmasters weren't calling him non stop, they weren't trying to ruin their relationship with Nas one of their biggest clients. Nature's selling y'all twisted stories, he's not a victim but the perpetrator.

This may be A DEBATABLE STATEMENT..... but with multimedia, there is a new element to hip hop/entertainment , and THIS PLATFORM IS that element. I have learned so much History about artist, actors, rappers, moguls, etc that were responsible for creating music I listened to, that was responsible for alot of my direction, guidance, healing, and molding. So being informed about living. Past, To Be not just with exposure, mess, gossip, but a fill in the blanks, or WOWW epiphanies of jewels! This is great !

I still don't understand why Nature signed to Trackmasters and not Nas. Trackmasters were just producers who can be hired by anyone including Nature himself once he signed with Nas. I feel like there was a little envy and double crossing because why would he sign with Trackmasters while Nas was out of the country instead of asking him for advice? Reminds me of the time Dame made Cam'ron the President of Roc-A-Fella Records when Jay-Z was out of the country. 🤔🤔🤔 P.S. I copped Nature's first album the day it dropped. It was 🔥🔥🔥

Hindsight 20/20, Nas ain't really have the team in position to push and I bet nas would say he couldn't have pushed nature the way he needed. Idk if the business savvy was there at that time because he still was a active artist himself. At the time Nas was established in rap but he wasn't mogul status like say puff or Russell Simmons. Who knows what would happen. But it's obvious nature didn't have proper representation so it is what it is.
