Doctor, this is fascinating! I'm still on my pre-medical journey in the US. I was set for a Neuroscience degree, but switched to Psychology (with a biological focus) since I figured that I would learn all the neuro I needed in med school and residency. Have I made a mistake?

It's sometimes difficult to know at the start exactly what ignites ones passion. 10-15 years ago I didn't think i’d be in psychiatry. Initially wanted to be a surgeon, first interview in neurosurgery, then psychiatry. Then did a part time MBA dropped out... Then teaching. Realised that I'm curious and the only way of really knowing what one wants to do is by trying things out! Learning is never wasted - it's always useful in my opinion. I often say that the only time I'll really know what I wanted to do is at the end of life 😄 - cos I'll have tried so much. The paradox. So not sure i can comment in your case but there is a lot of neuroscience that can be included in psychology. Good luck!

I’m a student as well, and I’m majoring in chemistry. I have my heart set on pursuing a PhD in pharmacology + an MBA in marketing. Good luck with your studies!

If only I have a Supervisor and Consultant who can teach me daily like you...I could have achieved Zen mode and super calm at work & super confident about my MEQ and CEQ without having my amygdala constantly activated...

Can you do something on Transcranial electrical stimulation (tDCS) and Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) please. I would like to understand your opinion.

Hi doctor ! After my divorce I have severe resistant depression which evolved into a mental disorder. I was on mirtazapine 30 mg and now i am into vortioxetine 10mg for the last 2 months. I was feeling very good with vortioxetine, I was thinking that God finally rescued me until anxiety related to my job crushed my mood again. From time to time I feel something like mini-panic attacks, pain in the body legs arm and chest, fear of failing, negative thinking. I have strong psychological support. I was watching many of your videos. Please help with an professional advice !

It's best to discuss this with your doctor. It may be a number of things that require evaluation. Ruling out and treating agitation or mixed States, addressing sleep are all part of treatment before increasing doses of ADs. See the video on melancholic depression and mixed features. Wish you well.

Thank you doctor ! I have watched the your videos you recommended to me ! It is clear for me now, it is the melancholic type of depression I suffer. Being previously on Mirtazapine 30mg and now on vortioxetine 10 mg and still feeling bad, what would you recommend to suggest to my medic to try with me ? He is not that experienced. Please help...

I have moments when I am alone. I scream and release my anger so there is also a small psychotic side of my depression. Thank you !

For the use in melancholic depression which would be the dosage for quetiapine or Olezampine ?
