Welcome to the Final video from our Yellowstone trip! It was such an amazing trip, and it was a perfect way to end! We started the day slower, but ended up finding a Coyote eating a carcass in the river. While this footage might be saddening for some viewers, it's important to remember that this is the cycle of life in the wild. Moments like this, allows for other predators and their newborns to survive. While it might be hard to watch, it is all part of the ecosystem.

Awesome video! You are so right about how huge Yellowstone is, I had the fortune to work in the park many decades ago, I spent 4 months hiking all over the back country of Yellowstone and the Tetons. You provide very important advice in terms of keeping one's distance from the animals, I agree with you, 25 yds is not enough for bison. Again, thank you for the wonderful video and beautiful views of your wildlife photography, very well shot, edited and appreciate how you respect the animals as you work hard to photograph them.

Love the footage. The limping coyote is often referred to as ...Limpy. Go figure. His injury is permanent as he's now had it for a few years. But it doesn't seem to slow him down. He even has a mate.

Such beautifully shot scenery Josh !!! All the feels for that baby bison but I realize that’s natures way . As for the photographer nerd speak you give such great guidance and tips that I’m sure it will be so helpful and appreciated by those behind the lens enthusiasts. Awesome! I think that my 150-600 should be good out there along with my crop sensor Canon DSLR. I may would want a teleconverter. Maybe next year... Thanks so much!

The 150-600 would be perfect with a crop sensor! I would suggest not getting a teleconverter. The aperture sacrifice on the long end just wouldn’t be worth it. But that’s my .02

Thank you! And its a little bit of a mixed bag. If you are looking for Grizzlys or Wolves, you will be in a crowd for sure. But since I wanted a little bit more space, and a 1 on 1 experience, I went for Bison, Coyotes.

Thanks for the comment! I asked a Ranger, and they essentially said “we’re only worried about big operations and if someone reports you”.

Im so glad you liked it! And honestly, I LOOOVED the Lamar Valley. Thats where we saw most things. Near Mammoth Hot springs was where we saw elk (But didn’t photograph any)

Fantastic videos, man! This question may be a bit off subject but I was curious how the R5 is treating you thus far? I currently have the 1dx mark iii but really want to go mirrorless. Is it worth it in your opinion? Im concerned for overheating, but I’m strictly a still shooter. Thanks,

Hey! Thanks so much! So my opinion is that mirrorless is so good, I will never go back to a traditional DSLR ever again. I’m a full time professional photographer, and was using a 1DxIII myself before getting the R5. It’s so good, I never looked back. The autofocus alone is worth the upgrade. The only time I have issues with overheating, is when I’m shooting full raw to both cards, I’m the direct sun (over 90 degrees Fahrenheit), and I am steadily taking photos for over 45 minutes. I mostly see it when I’m doing family photos after a wedding ceremony. Other than that, I don’t overheat at all. I think it’s actually greatly exaggerated, and just something for people to complain about. Plus the new RF glass is leaps and bounds better than the EF counterpart.

How much did it cost to film in the park, I know the permits to video are hard to get?

Surprise what small bits of meat the coyote was getting. It also was very cautious about being caught by wolves. Also it had been injured and was limping .
