I'm from the year 3092 and am on a mission to inform you that Frank Ocean is still alive, looking beautiful as ever and has taken over the world. His voice plays all around the world 24/7 but nobody complains and we're all happy
The streaming services need to get on this mixtape, it's an absolute masterpiece and some of Frank's finest work. Brandy on the backing vocals is heavenly too, sets the song off with the sensuality it required!
MGMT made it the best honestly. I played this song in my car and few friends were thinking it was Frank. I didnt know what they were talking about until hearing Frank version.
How did he know just how nostalgic this album was gonna make us all? When I hear this song it physically hurts me to remember my young self. How do I recreate being a crazy hormonal 16 year old teenager thinking every crush was ecstasy and the end of the world?
You know whats worse than that? I heard this mixtape in 2011 and i thought it was wack and the worse of the other OF members mixtapes. I wish i could slap my younger self in the back of the head for that.
Zorah Funny enough, some cam girl was playing some kings of leon song and said it made her wet from how sexual it was. I told her to throw this one and she did lol Coulda been the same girl.
I find it so strange that some people don't understand the concept of sampling. SO many artists do it! so just enjoy the music and stop complaining ^_^
Ocean doesn't really "sample" the song though. He takes all of it's instrumentation and some of the chorus melodies. Its more of a glorified and uncredited cover.
He didn't make a profit on it, but neither did the artists who originally recorded the sampled songs. And I'm not saying its wrong to sample, I just think he should have asked the artists permission first. Plus he could've just sung the originals considering how much of them ended up in the work. This would've fulfilled the goal of showcasing his voice just as well, without the pretense of recording something new. Sorry for the block of text, felt I had to present the legitimate counter argument to "mixtape, get over it".
I love this song. I love that Frank covered it. It makes me feel so happy and just amazing inside. What I love about this cover and the original is that they both make me feel different kinds of happy. This beat is just completely sick.
ARIEL if you ever come across this comment I still think abt you girl & appreciate you for putting me on 10 years ago!! You were a real one when nobody else fwm in HS!!! Tempus fugit!! Thank you love!!
Did y'all know that's Brandy singing in the background? I love Frank, keep doing what you do, making the music that you want and thank you for sharing your truth!
I don't understand why people judge artists by their sexuality. If I like your music, I like your music. No matter what sexuality you are. In the end, it comes down to the fact that I didn't start listening to you because you were bi or straight. I started because I like your music. I love Frank Ocean's music and I don't care what anyone thinks....
KayBandz+ Almost half way through 2018 and this still slaps. Nostalgia is exactly what this tape makes me feel... to a serious degree. I almost feel younger, or transformed to the self I was when I was listening to this year’s ago. It’s incredible how music (and other media) can do that to you; music has the most profound effect in my case. It’s nostalgic, terrific and terrifying all at the same time.
My uncle used to bump this all the time yet I never knew what the song was or who the artist was, I now found it and it's been frank ocean all along he's been my favourite artist for about 6 months now. But damn, I was like 10 I'm 16 going on 17 now damn
Jayden Harrington don't think so bud, my uncle has always been raving about frank ocean, but I never gave frank a shot, he was one of the pioneers of franks career
u can clearly see that yes people still are jammin to this in 2016 because there are plenty of comments on this video from this year and also, when else would we be jamming to this song, we can't go back into the past and jam to it, everyone you could possibly speak to anywhere on this planet earth who coincidently is also listening to this song would also be in the year 2016, because there is no other option.
First time listening, also a blind listen to the whole mixtape, and it truly does amaze me how many tributes he did on this record. Arguably my favorite Frank record to date. This whole mixtape is fucking beautiful
Brandy's vocal's in the background are sick! Her Ghost vocals are amazing! I love HER so DAMN MUCH!!!! @BRANDY #BRANDY #BRANDYNORWOOD #teambrandy SHE is a LEGEND in the INDUSTRY! HER AAH throughout the song, not overbearing or taking away from Frank's abilities compliment his voice amazingly! She's amazing!
I'M SO GLAD, LIKE I LISTENED TO THIS SONG YESTERDAY AND IT HAD AROUND 4 MILLION VIEWS NOW IT HAS OVER 5 MILLION. FRANK OCEAN - GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN
DJ CatsaNova But mentioning it’s not his means you’ve heard the original song. If you heard the original song then you should hear the original song at the end. For someone to talk about how it’s not his when he’s making it obvious it’s not his makes them a jackass.
