@Sheila Fankhauser I agree with you except for the Disney part. They can be a bit formulaic at times, but they truly have made amazing movies. The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Atlantis, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Treasure Planet are in my opinion great films.

@@KnotPhound but like, aren't most of those stories that have existed already, for example the Hunchback is a French novel by Victor Hugo, Beauty and The Beast was a French story by a female author written in 1740, and etc. also the Grimm brothers. So I feel like although the animation is nice, I don't think you could say they are all..you know, Disney.

@@user-cf7hb2jd7e If we're talking like that then Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service and many others aren't Ghibli because they're adaptations of existing novels. Get it? They may be adaptations, but they're actually very different to the original material. That's what makes them stand out.

Nausicaa of the valley of the wind is my favourite movie from Studio Ghibli. Hayao Miyazaki is my favourite director. Joe Hisaishi is my favourite composer. Finally, Studio Ghibli is my favourite studio. When I was little, I adored Nausicaa as much as I do now.

MINE TOO! And it’s inspired me to become an ecologist. BTW, the ecology of the Sea of Corruption, how the giant fungi purify the contaminated soil and water - isn’t that far from what fungi can really do.

I recommend reading the manga! The story is so much larger and more detailed. Shame all of it didn't make it to the movie (but tbh, that would have been impossible).

I've always loved "Nausicaa and the valley of the wind" so much as a child, I saw myself reflected in her, her courage pushed me to be braver, her curiosity to explore the world more. And even just the magic world she lives in, made me forget for a while of my daily responsibilities, fantasizing about going around searching for cool luminescent spores and big red eyed monsters. I'll never forget Miyazaki's films.

Wow this melody brings back memories. Great movie great OST. I often wonder how long it took for Hisaishi to find/compose this melody. Did it come to him right away or did he struggle with it? Or was it somewhere in between? Regardless great work man.

My favourite Ghibli movie and one of my favourite films of all time. Even tho the story is paced at light speed and some little things are left with not as much development as I would like, truth is that it is still a movie with great characters, amazing worldbuilding, very good animation, incredilbly good and original story and I personally think that Nausicaä is one of the best protagonists in animation. I absolutely adore this film and its music.

@@ucala8599 Hace como 2 años lo estaba leyendo, creo que llegué hasta el volumen 3 o 4, pero, por alguna razon deje de leerlo. Es muy bueno, yo no soy de los que leen manga pero me gustó mucho el dibujo. Recuerdo que la historia era muy diferente en el manga, en la pelicula el antagonista es el imperio de Tormekia y manga existía otro imperio llamado Durku el cual era el real antagonista.

Si puedo recordar, el tema de la antagonista, en el manga, es diferente porque no hay ninguna singular antagonista. Hay muchas temas que son muy interesantes. Miyazaki tiene un cerebro increíble... (lo siento si mi español no es bueno, no es mi primero lengua)
