This is part 4 of a series of videos where I will give a detailed overview, tutorials and instructions concerning the Arp and Drum Track function that Korg replaced Karma with on the Korg Nautilus. This specific episode talks about the step sequencer that can be found via the drum track menu in the Korg Nautilus.

You can key note sequences by going to the Step Seq/LFO tab on each EXi instrument. You have up to 32 steps and you can choose whether to loop or make it a one-shot. You can program each step by semitones and you can choose the note length of each step. Look for a button on the instrument (it could be AL-1, MS-20 etc,) that looks like a ladder lying horizontally, and enter the step sequencer tab. It's a fantastic tool on AL-1 for those looking to create chiptunes of the 8-bit era.

Thank you. I play jazz a lot along with other genres and making my own drums with each scene has been challenging. This gets me started as even in 4/4 making the drum track line up is challenging.

Really Great Series! Just got my Nautilus now, after a Ton of Research, what to buy. And it is hilariously fantastic! My wishes from you is a deep series for the sequencer. This Tool is overwhelming a.f. and i want to optimize my work on the naut without a daw. Maybe you can also include this super Video in there, too. How to Set up a drum beat in the step sequencer with different scenes and then record that, with changing the A-B-C-D Scenes in Record-Mode to simplify the recording of drums. And of course the other 134557836 functions of the sequencer, so that nobody must scratch the surface anymore and can simply record stuff perfect with the deep sitting functions. Love your Videos! Thanks very much for the kind works and suggestions!!! Yes the Nautilus sequencer stuff is going to probably end up being something on its own. Definitely can be a lot to take on if you aren't used to it. But once you get going, it's pretty simple.

Absolutely. I recorded "Haus am See" from Perer Fox and it sounded awful, because i didn't time the percussions always exactly. Must do it one more time from scratch and try to Do it with this Video and the step sequencer. Maybe this will work better. Or do you have another Tipp for the drums to Sound good and perfectly timed? Because i did it with "quantize" and this didn't work out🤣 i go on RU-vid and hear everything in the Song and play it in. The Timing with starting the Song and the recording at the Same exact time is nearly impossible sometimes.

I think it saves with the program. Write the program. Try it out after some quick simple edits to be sure.

Does anyone know how to edit note lengths in Nautilus, I wish the Nautilus had a Piano Roll where we can edit notes in several ways: Length, key, velocity etc.
