Sigh...this lady reminds me of my great-grandma, Jeanette, God rest her. Grandma Jeanette was a short lady (her height was 4'8), suffering from leukemia, and thin as a rail. She would be 97 years old if she was still alive (she died in 2011). Boy, she was a fiesty old lady and she had a mouth on her like a sailor. I remember when my grandpa, her son, was telling me a story about taking his mother's car and going on a joy ride with it prior to losing control and crashing it into a swamp when he was about 10 years old. As he was telling me that, his mother chimed in and said "Yeah and I had your little ass that day, didn't I boy?" Grandpa looked down and said "yes mother" and she responded, "and I'd have your ass again, wouldn't I?" Grandpa said absolutely nothing. Another time, my uncle said something out of line, now mind you he is 6'3 and he has bad anger issues, and great-grandma rolled up a newspaper and started smacking him across the chest with it all the while saying, "I am going to beat your little ass just like I did when you were young." My uncle kept saying" I am sorry grandma!" Grandma responded, "yeah you better be sorry you little bastard." 😆 God, she was a hoot. She didn't let anyone push her around.
Wow thanks so much for sharing this. We lost our grandpa in 2013 due to cancer. If he were alive he'd be in a majority of our videos cause he was a hardass. I always ask my mom "wow mom if Cheíí was still alive...what do you think he'd say about our videos?"

One story that comes to mind involved my great-Uncle back when he lived on the Patowatami reservation near Gun Lake Michigan back in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Please note: my grandpa (great-grandpa, actually) was full-blooded Chippewa and his tribe is Swan Creek and his clan is Turtle/Bear. Anyways, my uncle was adopted by the Patowatami Chief and that is why he was living on the rez. Um, anyways, he told me that one night Chuck ran, naked, into his house because his girlfriend was shooting at him. Chuck lived aways up the road and he would often go visit my uncle's neighbor to have sex with her. From what I was told, during their love making session, Chuck told her that he loved her and she grabbed a gun and chased him out of the house with it. Long story short, my uncle went across the road and got Chuck's clothes for him and about a week later Chuck was back over there having sex with my uncle's neighbor like nothing happened 😅 I never lived on a rez but the stories that my uncle told me sounds like it would be an entertaining place to live...minus the hardship. This summer, my uncle said that he would take me to meet the Chief that adopted him into the tribe so I can put tobacco on his grave. The Chief that adopted my uncle into the tribe would be about 110 years old or older now. My uncle said that Frank, the Chief, was in his eighties when he knew him. Anyways, I send you my condolences for your grandpa. It sounds like he was one hell of a guy. I admire the older generation especially the ones who took no shit. my grandma could throw a pot of boiling potatoes like a major league pitcher. I watched my uncle dive off of her porch just in time otherwise his goose would have gotten cooked too. He learned real quick not to mouth off to grandma.
