Some feedback/info I received: 1) The max an employer is allowed to pay for an employee's education tax-free is $5250/yr. Anything above that amount would be taxable. 2) There is no need to pay for braces with after-tax earned dollars. She could have her employer deduct $228/mo into her HSA and then pay for the braces from her HSA. She would save ~$45 in Federal and FICA taxes with the HSA payroll deduction. Texas has no state income tax. I'll pass this along to Ashtyn of course. Side note: I will never know EVERYTHING about finances, especially with taxes. I'm glad most people understand that. Also, if you have any feedback like this to share, please just leave a comment and/or email me. No need to use my application to submit this!

My heart broke when she got to the arbonne. Someone point her to Hannah Alonzo!

How do you know though? She didn't go into much detail and she also said she already purchases through them. I've seen quite a few people do these programs so they pay a reduced amount on their purchases.

@@stephaniel6867 I mean she said she can work unlimited overtime hours at her job. That is probably a far simpler way to make extra money than trying to sell those products. Based on her salary, her overtime pay would be at least $30/hr. Not to mention she can probably buy similar products from a normal store & not pay the premium price.

Arbonne’s products have changed my life so I’ll be continuing to use them and building my Arbonne business. I’m not spending more than I am making with it and I don’t have any fees with the business side so I am all good there! 😊

Seems a very doable budget & payoff time line. Please drop the MLM. If you’re using the product & charged an annual fee it’ll take lots of sales to make up for that. The overtime is so much more worth your extra energy. Good Luck & would ❤ a follow up

She should add $228 to her HSA each month then spend it from the HSA on her braces. She’s spending it anyway and it will save money on taxes.

Ooh great start to the DOI podcast series! 27 is SOO young. Crush that debt and start investing ASAP and it’ll give you a huge step up for the future. The Money Guy Show says that each dollar at age 27 is worth $33.80 in retirement, so while there’s nothing wrong with all the little charges, maybe multiply those purchases by 33.80 to see if the cost is still worth it to you. I didn’t start investing until my late 30s, so it will take a LOT more work for me to reach millionaire status by 65!
