‘There’s no holy grail. There’s only holy trail.’ This is such an abundant wealth of knowledge and wisdom that’s truly golden. Your words are so powerful and soulful and truly truly impactful. Thank you for enlightening us with the process of spiritual alchemy and the mid life passage. I can see myself coming back to this video years later. Thank you for this phenomenal talk. 🙏✨✨
This talk has resonated so much with me. Going through the breakup of the only relationship I have had for most of my life and through the last few years, I've felt so sick and "diseased". I have to remind myself that I am perfectly healthy physically but not mentally. Now doing the hard work to get over that threshold between despair and hope and as I get closer to the end of that very dark night, the future seems bright. Its the little steps that will make a huge difference.
This video spoke to my soul. You articulated what I am experiencing so well. It can be a lonely journey as there isn’t anyone in my life sharing that they are going through the same thing. Thank you ❤
Great talk, it's as if the speaker was dictating my own personal experience and as someone thats gratefully come out the otherside, I've become so fulfilled and happy in my life. I hope more people see this talk so they maybe better understand their experiences cause unfortunately I don't think most people get to the point of taking the appropriate steps to finding their authentic selves cause they just don't understand what is wrong or missing. I've found that my inner guide is God/love, I let light and love guide my path and it hasn't failed me. I've chosen to desire less and enjoy the simple things away from what society celebrates but bring me joy. Thank you for this talk 🙏🏿
Amazing presentation!!! I’m going through the storm right now, definitely lonely, but I can’t ignore the calling anymore. That voice saying “this isn’t it” is exactly what I’m going through. It’s been rough to navigate all the things you have mentioned, but I’m aware that it’s a road of becoming, and I choose authenticity over superficiality. The inner guide is real (from God or whatever your want to call it), but be aware that those that want to control you won’t be happy with you, and that they will even question your sound mind. This is truly not for the faint of heart. Saliha, thank you so much for describing the journey with such precision and eloquence 💕. I appreciate the wonderful speech.
@@jordanekl5383 why is that? What you said literally makes no sense. Not only is she not asking anyone to follow her, or buy anything, or do anything she isn't pushing any religious ideology. You sir are a wierdo.
@@jennyfox1398 Its called a joke... Its not seriously stating they are doing anything at all. Just satire. You obviously didn't get it, but for some reason of self superiority you decide to talk down to someone else. How can anything being boiled down to 2 words like that ever be taken seriously? Good luck going about life with this kind of output. You asked how, so here's some parallels. Like how the video tries to illogically force the ideals to only a certain type or group of peoples. Having to feel accepted, and apart of a larger community. Following a new kind of personal life structure. Claiming to be able to supply some assistance to a very complex mental state. Exclusion of others, without directly stating it. Its a rather vague question you asked, so i hope that i covered enough for you. Same can be said about Pyramid schemes. What you've done is cherrypicked parts and not apply the full information. I never suggested it had to do with "asking anyone to follow her, or buy anything, or pushing any religious ideology" That is your own thoughts and feelings on what was said. What makes sense, is using your brain for yourself. Its not hard to see the connections, and to understand hyperboles and satire. Also it helps to have any knowledge about the topics included. Cus there's allot of examples that i left out. Have a nice day, and best of luck with that shrewd kind of mentality!
Fantastic talk, thank God I found it. 100% describes what I am going through right now, loved the 7 things one needs to do to navigate through it. Normally you just get a diagnosis but no one tells you how to handle it. Thanks a ton for this talk Saliha, I will be watching it on repeat for a long time.
Thank you so much. I really felt that you were speaking to me personally. Everything you said is happening to me right now and I thought there was something wrong with me but now I realise I’m on the journey. I now have the confidence to embrace it. Thank you.
Thank you Saliha. It's like you're living with me and reporting my exact stages. Wow. Thank you for an excellent, to the point, and effective look into our struggle.
Thats the point, hit the vague topics that rings true, and convince you that shes the best, and has the solutions you need. When never stating that, and never actually saying anything thats phycological, or physically helpful.
Thanks Saliha… by sharing your experience and knowledge for sure you have paid your debt… I am really inspired to take the baton from you in this relay race for some action. Lots of takeaways for me and at the right time when I am actually facing all this. My sincere thanks to you and RU-vid
Oh my gosh, this was wonderful! I felt like she was reading my heart like a book! I must’ve said, “Yesss!”, a dozen times during the video. Thank you for this. It brought so much clarity!
This is me right now. This was so helpful. I’m really struggling 😢. I was already in this then A huge loss in my life really took me to my knees. This is hard 😢
Unfortunately, subconsciously we prefer to listen to Westerners on the internet which I think is why it has fewer views than it deserves. This is extraordinarily insightful. Thanks Saliha so much for doing this talk.
Oh wow, just wow. I cant believe a lot of people going through this too, I thought its only me and its very heavy. I'm facing it right now and I cause a lot of pain to people around me. I have no guide, no experience and losing everything at the same time. And I hope its true that the seed must be buried under the ground between it grows back up. Im in the 5th cycle now, I hope it wont last that long for me. Thank you so much for this video, it opens my eyes.
I dnt even want a birthday greeting when I turned 5 yrs before 50. I feel like my life is ending in 5 yrs. I've never felt so confused in my whole life.
Check out what Quran says about how to navigate the age of 40 - Gratitude! Surat Al-'Aĥqāf (The Wind-Curved Sandhills) - سورة الأحقاف And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."
I admire your analogy on the difference between motivation and inspiration. Motivation is something that you need to push yourself towards, whereas, Inspiration is something that you get pulled towards.
Dr. Saliha, listening to you resonated with my own inner journey and I can see that your sharing is based on your own personal journey. Very deep. God bless you. I wish I had an opportunity to chat with you personally
Absolutely brilliant talk... I've recently become a Midlife Awakening Coach helping Womam through this period of life.... I loved every thing that you shared
Not everyone is called to everyone. That’s what niches are all about. If she tried to explain midlife experiences to a teenager or someone in their 80s it simply wouldn’t resonate. Her niche is “humans” that fall in a certain age range. What about you? What age range or type of people do you connect with the most and feel that you can support them in their life’s journey?
This was so insanely good and on point im going through this exact thing at the moment it is so lonely and dark and sad but after this video im going to be a phoenix rising from the ashes 😂
The title should read “Navigating the Midlife (not mid-life) Crisis” and the real title of this talk I suggested was “Midlife crisis to midlife meaning: Path to authentic living” Thanks… - Dr Saliha Afridi, PsyD -
A lot of comments here seem to understand what shes talking about. I dont get it, I found nothing tangible from this talk, just seemed like psycobabble for "keep on keepin on". Ill continue my search, and be glad this helped some of us.
My first step is to try and make sense of what she actually said! Perhaps because half of what she said is incomprehensible to me is part of my problem! Maybe if I buy into this lingo I will start to believe it, a bit like Woody Allen's hopeless search for religious belief.
Im 21 and going through a midlife crisis rn, even though it sounds kind of early. Seeing people around you and on the internet making big money and makes me feel worthless. Kids these days making millions of dollars out of thin air, and here i am reminiscing about nothing but the good old days
Make sure you’re focusing on yourself and the interest, gifts and talents that you naturally have. Turn off social media if it’s tripping you up, getting you into comparison. Comparison is the thief of joy. Those people are rich because they focused on their craft. So, you know the solution now: focus on your craft. Get amazing at it and eventually you will be the one people are envious of and giving advice to on how to become successful. Get someone to help you, to keep you accountable. Hire a coach or ask someone you trust to help you organize your steps. You’ve got this… IF you put it into action.
i didn't need this video to tell me this, as a kid i already had it in my head that i had to be successful first, then pursue what i really wanted. lol
A motorcycle is the best therapy. It’s ok to make mistakes just don’t make them again. Realize that society fed you a line of BS regarding how you should live your life.
What about the people in your life that you hurt because you discard them so easily because you didn't know what was happening and they are the collateral damage as you go on this journey.
Same question for me, I want to be there for her but how I protect people around me from all this mess… it’s very hard and to not have idea when, how or what it’s going to happen next
We don’t neglect people, what we’re doing is honoring our true selves. Just think if no one around us grew and set a higher standard, we’d all stay the same. Maybe look around and notice if people around you are holding you back from becoming who you are meant to be. Do you want to be like them? Maybe your own journey will inspire others to start their own growth journey.
@@liveagaincoachingministry1319I do not think that was what she was saying. She said something along the lines of becoming like adolescents to buck the responsibility. Hardly a winning move and one of regret later in a new crisis. Don't hurt others by being selfish. Express and communicate to find a balance where every action is taken to not throw others under a bus. She literally said there is no gold other than you are the gold. You already have you so you don't have to run someone over trying to get to a new path to nothing. Said the wife of a husband in a midlife crisis hurting all his family.
I'm afraid she took longer describing midlife crisis than going into detail about healing it. She gave a few steps to an obviously more complex answer and path to inner healing. Also, the tongue clasping after every other sentence was beginning to irritate me.
Annoying video, if you follow Jesus Christ you have no missing “meaning of life”. I have had fulfillment in my life ever since I decided to allow Jesus to be the center of my life.
I don't know who really needs to hear this, you have to stop hoping on your savings bailing you out in the long-term. Invest some of it, if you really want financial freedom.
Watched less than one minute. Shes trying to be a cult leader. Doesn't matter how meaningful the message is, She is only trying to take advantage of peoples desperate feelings for her own gain. And its so faked i cant stand to know any more.
So someone stating an opinion you dont agree with means they are freaking out? And thats exactly the thing... She doesnt know, because she is talking about things that change drastically between people. Also just riding a popular subject that targets people who are in a desperate, and/or weakened mental state. In order to get people to follow her, and her personal beliefs, and make gain from them.
I meant what was said literally, and logically. In a calm and seriously spoken manner. This isnt cool to do, taking advantage of people going through mental crisis is a bad thing, all around.
