Now I know that this couple wishes to live in remote off grid locations. I just hope that they would choose to find a community of people who want the same and live near each other. Because, I worry that if the two of them should ever get into an accident or fall ill what will happen to their children? Especially, the oldest child who has had seizures in the past and has difficulty walking and communicating.
After reading the comments it's pretty apparent that the majority of people commenting have never watched any of the many videos of the Baird family enjoying the outdoors. Enough of the helmet talk too.
It's an impressive family and I'm sure they've had and will have many great adventures, but I find it off-putting that in this video (and many like it about all sorts of other people) there is a pretense that there is no photographer (or drone pilot) present. It wasn't all done with a GoPro and many shots have both parents in them. It'd be better to make the other people part of the story since it would be more genuine. And it does seem strange not to use safety equipment like helmets, and float bags in the canoe, and to have whoever isn't paddling the rapid watching with a throw bag in hand ready to do a rescue. I've enjoyed river trips a lot, by canoe, kayak, and raft, but I know how quickly things can go wrong and it's not rare.
