Geoff's story is quite unique. He was one of the eight RAN pilots who had the opportunity to work alongside the Royal Australian Air Force No. 9 Squadron during the Vietnam War. As a pilot, he flew the UH-1 Huey as was standard for 9 SQN. Arriving at a very young age, he gained experience on many operations alongside the air force. He was likely the youngest pilot from Australia in Vietnam, being only 19 years old, and perhaps one of the youngest pilots in the entire conflict.
