You're right I was taught to do the quick boil method or soak the beans too ! Right now a pot of beans cooked in smoked neckbones with some cornbread would be great to eat !
Pam, im going to make this tomorrow for my family. I just have to tellyou how soothing and calming your voice is. It makes cooking new dishes easier to try.
*_lol Yaaaasss did you see that big cast iron skillet 🍳 of cornbread sitting on the stove waiting on me?!? Thanks so much Bre! I really appreciate you!_*
I haven't heard of the steeping part, that sounds wonderful. I'm tired of losing skins from the beans. I usually use smoked ham hocks but I really want to try the smoked neck bones. Sounds delicious. Now just need baking powder biscuits or cornbread. Thank you for the tips!!
Love Your Recipe. I Was Making Navy Beans And Neckbones This Morning. And I Hadn't Fixed Them For A Long Time. So I Google The Recipe And Your Recipe Pop Up. I Also Love ❤ Your Quick Tips On U Tube. I DEFINITELY Will CONTINUE TO WATCH YOU ON U TUBE.
I can already tell you that I'm in love with your channel. At least nce a week when I was a kid, we would eat beans, cornbread, and greens. Granny would go into the backyard and pick weeds. It was so so good. I prefered the bean soup and greens to beef stew for some reason. I still eat that way, but now I have a Instapot and I'm a newbe with using it. LOL
That’s awesome Alea!!! Oh you are going to love that insta pot especially for beans. No more waiting all day lol. Welcome to Pam’s Place. Enjoy the channel for more great recipes! 🍿Any questions, just ask. Thank you so much for your support! ❤️

This recipe is so rich, filled with so much flavor. I totally enjoyed watching. Thank you so very much for sharing my dear friend. I cannot wait for your next one.
@@CookingAtPamsPlace I absolutely loved it! I ended up making a second pot the next day and taking it to my grandparents. They loved it as well. Thanks for the recipe!
Dish looks delicious! I put ham hocks in my beans and use a large pot and stovetop for cooking. Next time I'm going to try the Crock Pot. I should be able to cut down on the preparation time.
Hey! This was Amazing! Just recently bought some neck bones(I've never cooked these before)( trying to impress my boyfriends Dad who loves this combination lol). I'm just confused about 1 thing...when u say "smoked neck bones" does that mean I need to literally put them on a smoker first?? Or are they smoking while boiling in the water? I would appreciate and feed back if u see this. I love your videos and sweet/kind approach to teaching. GOD bless you! And if u don't see this, I still love you and thank u for what I did just learn. 😘❤
Smoked neck bones are smoked outside on a smoker BUT we buy them from the grocery store. You can buy plain non smoked ones are smoked. Price is just a little higher. The regular ones are usually by other pork products like pork chops. The smoked ones are usually in another section either by themselves with other smoked meats or near bacon products. If you don’t see them ask in the meat Department
I'm trying this recipe out right now. Everything is just about ready to put in the instapot. Mine doesn't have a manual setting so I assume just put it on pressure cook for 40 minutes?
Why didn't you take the meat off the neck bones and add them to the beans while cooking in the InstaPot? That's how I was taught to cook them? Mother would add baby okra on top of the beans when it was almost finished cooking, add a salad with some cornbread and that was dinner!
Hi Karen! Yes I’ve done that too but when I cook for my channel I’m also cooking for myself and my husband. Rarely do I make something that we are not having for our meal. Long story short. My husband prefers to have his kept whole. He actually likes to eat his neck bones on the side not through the beans. And absolutely we had our cornbread!!! He had a salad and I didn’t lol. Since my surgery I can’t eat salad very well all the time and I still can’t bite anything in the front so you will also see in my more recent videos if I do a taste of anything even a piece of toast I have to cut it and put it in my mouth. But I hope that explains it! Thanks so much for your support!
