I pastor a church out here in California. One of my deacons just made EOD. He has a wife and a baby boy and yet knows he is called to this. This kind of resolve is rare indeed. We will watch over his family for him. I know I don't even have to ask for his team to watch over him. Thank you. We are praying for him. And we are praying for all of you. I respect for this team more and more as I do my own research. Thank you for what you do and for doing it all as well as you do... Thank you...
As an old past EOD (Army) man, I am fascinated by the level of training these people are receiving. A couple years ago I purchased three baseball style EOD hats on line and wear them quite often. Mostly because I am proud of what I did while I was in the military but also in the hope that I would finally run into either a current or past EOD person. Well, it finally happened. A young Air Force EOD man saw my hat and approached me. I was delighted to spend about 10 - 15 minutes talking to this man. I will continue to wear these hats and hope I have the good fortune to run into other EOD people.
@@joshuatamirpersonal8137: Well I did do 4 years. Ended up being a Damage Controlman. Left the Navy as an E-3. Been on a 9 month deployment. Saw 5 nations which would be Italy 🇮🇹, Spain 🇪🇸, Israel 🇮🇱, Oman 🇴🇲 and Jordan 🇯🇴. Got stationed at Naval Station Mayport which is awesome. I did hurricane relief in Haiti 🇭🇹 when Hurricane Michael hit in 2016. Made good friends. I’ve had ups and downs. It’s not easy. But I’m really glad I served.
My rate is GSM right now, I ship in September. However, I'm considering trying out for EOD. I talked to a special operations scout at MEPS. I hear the training is rigorous, but there is no denying it's one of the most badass jobs in the entire military.
@ZeroFoxtrotG Ended up switching to HM right before boot camp. Did 6 years and 10 months and got out last year. About half of that was spent with 1st Marine Division, did a pump to Syria and a MEU to southeast Asia so I'm satisfied lol.
@JrTadpole93 It's a lot harder than simply telling your recruiter you want to be EOD. As with all Naval Special Warfare jobs you need to PST with your NSW/SO motivators and get added to the NSW draft list. There they'll take the highest PST scores and then look at how many slots they have open for said school. If you get picked, then you can sign a contract and move into training. However, it is very competitive.
Sir does it usually say "Recruiter" in red for non Military Personnel, and Enlistedman and Officer in blue, for Military Personnel and I need to work on my foot work and who I Salute, Sir 😂, tu are grading me, Sir 😢
As for a 16 year old in senior year of high school, who doesn't have interests in finishing high school - when can he/she sign up and how long is the contract?
I finished nearly all my Regents (I am of New York) with only 1 to go. I have passed all AP classes and such. As for STEM including physics, I have taken and passed exceptionally. I'm looking for someone to give me the soonest time I can apply to enlist, not some hardass to assume I'm not willing to finish high school. High school (senior year especially) for my plans are a waste.
***** I've been all over the Navy's website and it only states regarding to age for an EOD "Be 30 years of age or younger (www.navy.com/careers/special-operations/eod.html#ft-qualifications-&-requirements) I posted this comment on *The U.S. NAVY'S* youtube channel looking for a response FROM THEM. I'd rather your best friend give me the knowledge I seek - maybe he has some humility. Just because he or whoever else in our country's forces gives no reason for you to be a bloody grump. If it's one thing I notice from my all family & friends who have either served in military or civilian services, it's that they are humble - it's their job to serve. Your assumptive nature might be the end of you.
EOD have a choice to be screened for special operations. If you pass, you will be deployed with SEALs and Rangers, etc. A buddy of mine is EOD and has never been on a ship, just made 6 deployments with SEALs and other special forces from other branches.
Please can anybody answer my question? I want to be Eod or corpsman fmf but I have astigmatism in both eyes. Can I get a waiver for one of these??? I saw a consult today and I am really worried I will be disqualify!
if only I wasn't too old to join (34)! Almost joined the NAVY after I graduated but the only reason I didn't was for a girl.... and that relationship didn't go anywhere! Regret!
late response from me but no that wasn't the joke at all.. actually wasn't even a joke to begin with. Navy EOD talks a lot of game and trains a lot of impressive skills but in reality when it comes to how much EOD work is done service to service.. Navy does very little.
well guess whT be a widow of one, put the shoe on the other foot, it's not what everyone thinks it is, life without won't be the same, hasn't been ,nor will it be, so think about your negative bullshit and if you learned anything, if you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all.
sorry you are an officer and you do not do much except admin , FYI I am in Iraq right now disarming IED's and I was former Navy EOD also so I know a little of what that officer was trying to give for PR
Arma365- you are obviously a civilian SO SHUT YOUR MOUTH! "most elite this" "most elite that" they do their job, other guys do theirs. The kind of attitude you have, you don't deserve to talk about the armed forces. It's not about being elite.
This is very important to say, of this EOD - qualified US Navy Commander, that, Jump 🪂 and SCUBA 🤿 are methods of insertion into the Target Area of Operations ( TGT AO) , and that, Parachuting and Diving are NOT ends unto Themselves, but , a means to an end...... Mission Accomplishment!!🇺🇲🇺🇲🪖💣💥🔥⚓🪂🤿🇺🇸🇺🇲
