Guys i think this video reached about gameplay's style, not about the game (Squad) isn't it? Because the player is good enough it's look like gameplay of Karmakut or operatordrewski channel
Well opposite of that. When it comes to game development, you need to put in effort to make things break and break in the same way at the same time on every screen, without lag.
I love how much he's criticizing the use of smoke grenades. It's so frustrating playing these games with people who just want to use smokes to create some sort of hollywood set-piece instead of using them to effectively blind the enemy.
lol most of the time in games it’s actually pretty visible through smoke 💨 that’s why they do it. Video games are for fun and not really meant to be realistic but they can be if wanted to
Smoking the enemy is effective in video games. Of course irl you wouldn't do it but in most fps games, smoking the enemy gives you an advantage and not just a cover for yourself.
@@KabilanKarthikeyan16 What do you mean you wouldn't do it IRL? Of course you would, the main purpose of smoke grenades in military use is to obstruct the view of the enemy and to mark targets.
Geoff’s vids are awesome, super straight forward and informative but dude is clearly having some fun. Would love to see more from him, maybe a vid w Cam ?
can you guys set up all these veterans in a squad game and pit them on each other? Like prolly two commanders for both sides and then also a few squad leaders. prolly like 8 vets for that to work tho. Or just all of them in one squad or two squad so they can support each other since if theyre only in one squad, they wouldnt be able to get all the support they need in a real life situation like tanks rolling in or mortar support. Prolly make them play with or against karmakut and other youtube channels out there that take milsim seriously
@@rienezukana It was indeed. He also did another video on a Macvsog mission with some former Macvsog guys that did the mission the games mission was based on. Very cool.
It's somehow wholesome to see these people, who actually went through this, react to a video game, that is basically a love letter to military service.
I was thinking the same thing, but for him with his limited knowledge of the game I’m sure he’s thinking real world events, which makes sense. Like for him it’s probably a big no no to stand in front of a door like that but for us who play squad we use it as just another part of the wall hahaha
In regards to shoot people stay alive segment of the video. In this video game, (i play mostly in the Squad OPS server.) Mortar Missions are called in with no regard to player safety, and as someone who plays mortar 90% of the time, what command says goes. If they need a firesupport mission on objective, I'll send it. There is more than enough fair warning to other squad leaders in command chat to let them know Indirect Fire is coming. I usually mark it with 2 Smoke Mortars first, and then send in the rest of the payload. It lets the Squad Leads who decide to push in with reckless abandon know roughly where they can take cover from the barrage of 15-20 mortars I'm unleashing on the enemy from half the map away.
Waste of fucking time and smokes to launch smoke before the HE, especially if that isn't what is requested. I'd be fucking pissed off if I called for a fire mission with HE and some idiot mortar SL decided on his own to launch smoke first
Love how they use Karmakut's videos. He seems like a great squad leader and is very vocal, plus good at coordination. Seems like a good choice for a video/react thing like this.
You couldn't be more wrong. All he does is run around like it's call of dooty, yell nonsense on the coms, get a few downs by wasting ammo and then gets killed. The enemy picks up all of his downs, while he just wasted a ticket and supplies. He's a shit player in squad and hardly anyone would want him on their team. I'd personally kick him in a heart beat with some of the shit he pulled. Not to mention all he did was run around getting downs, no coordination, no SL or FTL map work, no building HABs and bases, no coordinating with armor, no resupplying or putting action into any plans. He's a useless player, literally did nothing to actually help the team.
@@evolicious What in the hell? Tell me how you don't know anything about Karmakut without telling you know nothing about him. lol Go watch his squad videos on his channel. I laughed out loud when you said he doesn't even build HAB/bases, because of how ridiculous a comment that is. Anybody who's seen karmakut's videos knows your entire comment was pure gibberish. You are either really bad at trolling or you really need to take some time to watch Karmakut's videos to see how wrong your entire comment is.
5:05 Arma 3 got this right, we use other colored smokes for evac/helos, or when we set-up a landing zone. Using colored smokes in the battlefield is kinda unusual, but doable.
This is one of my favorite videos. I'm a Marine and this man knows his stuff and can relate it to the games in a great way. Bring him back for more . SEALS for the win
Geoff has some of the best balance between commenting on gameplay, providing military knowledge, and critiquing what he likes and doesn't about stuff. Always enjoy his features on the channel.
What's most impressive about Squad is how it encourages people to be very coordinated even in public servers, you will rarely have such luck even in Arma
Community servers set multiplayer games to a higher standard, that's why the only multiplayer games worth playing are community server driven. Otherwise it's just screaming children griefers and cheaters.
This is the kind of guy you want as your best mate but not the kind of guy you ever want to be on the wrong side of. His calm, matter of fact way of delivering essential information is so great.

Interesting video, like his perspective a lot. FYI, the reason they are so confident using thin wood as cover, having artillery fall close to them when they are indoors, and why they are dodging cars and other obstacles with their tanks is the same - Squad has no destruction engine, unlike the Battlefield games. Artillery, tanks and explosives cannot destroy any of the static buildings on the map bullets generally don't penetrate even thin walls. You are very safe indoors from vehicles and artillery. Nor can vehicles run anything over (although they are coded to clip through fences).
Back when BF2 was out my dad worked at the Pentagon and the office had a group that would play together as a squad. I played with them a few times there communication and strategy was amazing.
Wow man I finally I actually learned what low pass fighter jet fly-bys are good for. I always wondered how low pass fly bys would be effective to scare off enemies - the shockwaves of course. Thanks man, great video and comments from my guy Geoff Reeves
Damn that low pass is an effective non lethal. If I was some bomber trying to get a stuck abrams and had a jet supersonic my ass over about 25 feet above me I’d run inside real quick. I might be deaf for a couple minutes too
I just started playing Squad and man is there a lot to learn! 😅 But the community so far is awesome! They provide a cooperative play I haven't seen since the BF3 Hard Core servers.
You should watch a one-life event. That deals with a lot of the issues like moving slower, utilising cover, effective use of smoke and comms discipline.
What he said about them not utilizing the saw properly is so true in this game. I almost never see people using them for the actual role as an area suppression weapon. People just run around with them like it's COD.
@6:00 I'm assuming the idea was to have the LMG cover the road while the squad dashes over to the opposite side doorway. It would obviously be a good idea to have somebody check the corner, but there is little of a stamina element involved on the defending party, unlike IRL. Whoever is slated to figure out if somebody is paying close attention is likely to get a few rounds to the body. The call of the SL is then usually to have somebody check who can be revived after he gets downed. It also doesn't matter as much as it does IRL what weapon the person is carrying. The guns don't collide with doorframes for one thing and also the cumbersome nature of MGs is not overbearingly represented in the game either. The call - within the confines of the game's behaviour - was much better than you're thinking. About the amount of flagging, well that's a game thing. It personally takes me more out of the game vibes having to press a key to go into low ready or something rather than having the weapon stay in high ready. If you truly didn't want your gun to go off(and you're in a situation during which you don't have to expect contact), you can always switch to the entrenchment tool or something else non-deadly to prevent accidental misfires.
Been out of the Marines for 20 years now, this game looks like it has allot of potential. In order for me to play this I would have to look at all the acronyms we learned and used daily to be a good team player
A former Navy Seal critiquing Karmakut. He already covered how Karma advances too far out ahead. Would like to see more critques on Karma "No look left" Korner.
The weapon seen in the winter shots is the Canadian C7A2 or a C8A3, easily recognizable by the presence of the ELCAN C79 sight. Both fire in semi-auto and full-auto, there is no 3-round burst mode. The Canadian Forces are part of a DLC, IIRC for Squad.
Its good to see that some Squad OPs videos were included and maybe a Karmakut? Better than having a review on jank SLs rushing B, even though we saw a couple; helps show the true nature and fun you can have in the game
Except for the fact that this is not how anyone plays squad. The idiot in the video wastes supplies and tickets for call of dooty clips. Shit like that makes your team lose fast.
Fyi in squad you can off the engine in vehicles, sound plays a major role in this, APC’s and tanks usually move and make regular stops allowing them to hear and remain hidden
Using smoke grenades offensively especially in tighter environment, is a great way to cut the enemies vision to be able to advance, aswell as possibly confuse the enemy and make them move out of their position out of the smoke to pick them off. Has many advantages. Smoking yourself making yourself blind while presenting a big cloud as a target to spray into for your enemy is not really clever
i always smoke on my way in, less angles to worry about, i dont play squad much anymore but i play the shit out of ''hell let loose'' and do the same, smoke to conceal and smoke to stop havning a million angles to watch at once, the amount of time i have infiltrated the front lines and killed 10+ people is actually kinda mind blowing, using this strat i have stoped them getting to their fron line, forcing them to stay back and letting the team move forward without getting screwed up, works like a charm
look at ''hell let loose'', 10x better in all the right ways, the graphics are amazing the explosions are 10/10, coms amazing, idk what its like in american servers but the chineese and australian servers are almost always great, very few arseholes, if its anything like arma3 american servers then yeah join a australian server to have a look the only racest dousch bags we get is the odd american
They should have this guy react to the mission in medal of honor 2010 where rabbit and mother drop onto the mountain alone to save voodoo and preacher. Since the characters are SEALS and it shows some pretty extreme conditions I'm curious about in a real life situation.
If you guys do another martial artists recreate Mortal Kombat can you have them perform some of Noob Saibot combos where he and his clone flow very well. It could be fun to see them work together to a cool combo.
I laughed when he was talking about how they didn’t run over the cars with the tank. If you’ve ever played squad the you know which will win in a collision course car vs tank 😂. Hint: the car wins every time.
One game I’ve been playing is hll which is similar but ww2 and one of the craziest fights I’ve played was on the road to carentan I believe which is essentially made up of wide open snowy fields, and capture point was along a central road, we could take the point cause we were being mowed down so we called in 2 tanks and my squad (I was sl) moved up with the tanks to prevent them from being taken out by infantry and pushed to the point, after we took it then we moved up further to an intersecti9n past the point with both tanks and waited because the point was being shelled and then fell back on commanders orders it was awesome
Even though he said M4 its a Canadian operation in which C8s with C7 optics (Canadian equivalent to the M145 optic) are used bottom right it says too, but you cant tell everything apart (first part of the video)
BUDS class number ? Just kidding mate... mad respect for you , I wouldnt last the part where you fill in forms to get in the program, let alone the whole thing!
Try having veterans (any, Geoff as well) experts react to GLID Gaming's Ground Branch Oil Tanker Retake? Basically tactical gameplay incorporating CQB into it by actual veterans
