This was the most complete discussion of a movie and how it has aged in recent months. Glad that Mangalam brought back the question of the undemocratic big-man ethos of the anti-corruption story told in this movie. Anil Kapoor to his credit managed to play it in a very sober way avoiding a self-aggrandizing portrayal. Satisfying review
Nayak 2 can have a female protagonist and address women’s issues that they face day in day out. My suggestion for lead role Vidya Balan or Deepika Padukone.
Urjita's alternate ending was basically the rest of Director Shankar's filmography, Indian had that same ending. In fact, even Anniyan is a movie with the same theme - just kill all the corrupt people. I liked the alternate ending discussion, it's a natural extension of where this kind of story would go in a cyclical manner. As Abbas said, he starts getting treated like god. It would be interesting if that sentiment was interrogated, and Anil Kapoor's character turns into a fascist dictator, who maintains law and order through autocracy. Then when opposition occurs, he turns into the villain trying to suppress dissent. It's not really anything we've seen in Indian cinema.
Mangalam helped in countering the extra Filminess that I find very annoying in your podcast. From the very start, he behaved like us the audience who has no incentive to not be blunt. Also, please do Sholay.
The songs in this movie/original Tamil are so original in making. There is a proper pop album song(shaka laka baby), Chalo chale mitwa (framed in five elements), Folk song like Rooki sooki roti, and other song (Alaghana rakshasive)with so many people/elements as props and the grand song at last. Technical parts/CGI are major part in those days when compared to Bollywood, Shankar sir is always way ahead in using the cutting edge tech.
Rightly pointed out A R Rahman used Sanskrit Shlokas in background score the movie was average it would have been great if it would have been political thriller the love story should have been avoided 🤘🏻🎞💯🎬
Guys. Get your facts right. Mudhalvan & Nayak has more or less same run time. Also frame by frame remake. With only the Saiyaa song & Kabhi tu teekhi song being original from original Tamil.
Exactly, they talk about the current bulldozing of houses by government as if it is a bad thing, even though the ones being demolished are illegal properties of convicted criminals.
I dont get the way you guys find problems with johny lever's character , If someone touches him inappropriately he thinks they are a "chhakka" , agar aaj bhi sadak pe jao to signal pe ye chhakke bheek mangte aur logo ko tang karte mil jayenge , ghar khareeda to badhai lene aate hain , train me aate hain , they are still ridiculed and made fun of , and rightly so , they are not a comfort for anyone or even acting like normal people , unka mazak udaya to kya galat kia
Imagine picking out one of the most ostracised communities in the country and bullying them for no reason. Woh log jinka tum mazaak udaana chaahte ho, ya toh paida aise hote hai ki unko normal life mil hi nahi sakti, ya phir bachpan mein unko kidnap karke unka operation karke unhe aisa banaya jaata hai. Agar thodi bhi insaaniyat hai tumme toh dusro ka mazaak udaane se pehle unke dard ko samjho.
@@weirddude8608 there are proper "groups" of those people , working as a team , I have seen them come to my house , give a business card , so that we give them money after we buy a new house or new car, I agree there would be people forced into this business , but some and many of them do it for money as well , its just making a joke , not a crime or immoral to make a joke
