Awesome! Great album from start to finish. Saw these guys in 1980, Evansville, IN with Blackfoot as the opening act....great show. Songs of my youth high school '77 to '81! May I say we partied hard to this album, along with other great music! Great time to come of age! This constantly in the rotation, along with AC/DC If You Want Blood, Van Halen first album, Cheap Trick at the Budokhan, Rainbow, Aerosmith, Blue Oyster Cult, Triumph, the first three Journey albums (before Steve Perry....great music), Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, etc...the list goes on and on.

Guitarist Manny Charlton(R.I.P) is so underrated. Such a melodic kind of playing. And he always did the right amount of tasty licks that the song needed. Never over indulgent.

Terribly underrated. I love his playing on some of the songs from the Expect No Mercy album. Kentucky Fried Blues and New York Broken Toy has some funky guitar licks. And Gone Dead Train has a good southern boogie feel.

@@hog7203 heck yes. Expect no mercy is my fav album. Manny is the master of that slide also. But hey now on Kentucky Fried Blues, let's not forget Darrell sneaking in that Scottish tribal drum beats. Love that song its one of my favs.

If you dig Nazareth then you should lend an ear to Foghat. In their prime Foghat filled stadiums all over the world. This was between 1974 and 1980. When checking Nazareth, you also should sniff the "Razamanaz" album (1973), the "Loud 'n' Proud" album (1974), the "Close Enough For Rock & Roll" album (1976) and the "No Mean City" album from 1978. Cheers Bizz. Always good to see you when I see you.

This suggests a whole category of hard rock songs, namely, songs where the vocals alternate with the heavy guitar riffs. Similar to Led Zeppelin's Black Dog, this was a great surprise. Other songs where this happens with vocals that will knock you on your butt are Book Of Dreams by the Steve Morse Band, Dogman by King's X, Ted The Mechanic by Deep Purple and Crank It Up by the (Dixie) Dregs.. Much of this Nazareth is new to me and I'm enjoying taking the ride.

Bushel full of great riffs on this album. Addictive they are. Another band that is a riff monster and many never even have heard of them is a band named Budgie. A Welsh trio that was never named in the same breath as Deep Purple or Black Sabbath but was one of the true originators of hard rock/heavy metal. I recommend trying Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman from their first album or Zoom Club. Both HEAVY unknown bangers. bands like Metallica and Geddy Lee from Rush were highly influenced by Budgie.

After all, it was all my brothers played on our record player. But as a female I just cant' get that excited about a lot of that dude rock. For some raw female perspective it would be so awesome if you responded to *The Pretenders, Tattooed Love Boys* fronted by Chrissie Hynde. The classic OMV. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yog-meAq1so.html Or *Up the Neck* from the same album. Studio version.
