It is the best decade and I’m from the 90’s. I wish I had been born in the 70’s because the music was the best and then they didn’t have the equipment they do now. They actually had to have talent in the 70’s. The people even seemed to be happier then.
Don’t get me wrong the 90s was alright but the 70s beat the 90s in music. Also the 70s wasn’t as chaotic. I mean school shootings began in the 90s and that says a lot about how messed up the kids were.
@@jessicachilders7287 I agree. I am from Arkansas and remember quit well the Jonesboro middle school shooting in '98 then Columbine in '99. I still think the 90's and early 2000's produced some good music definitely better than the shit that is coming out now days. My mom and dad grew up in the 60's and 70's and loved it too. They talk about how much better it was then. I think we all reminisce about the times we had when we were younger.
@@bigcountry816 I definitely reminisce about the 90s myself. My teen years were definitely some interesting years. I think music took on a lot of changes in the 90s some for the good and some not. But the reason I like the 70s so much is because they really had to be talented they didn’t have the electronics that they do now to make them sound good. Not just the singers but the musicians also had to be talented. If you go to a concert now pay attention that they never sound the same as the studio versions. Music in the 90s was by all means better than today. Every decade it seems music gets worse. I’m very open to all genres and music period but it’s very rare to find stuff I like today.
I am so glad I was born in 66. I can remember all the way back to the age of 2. I remember hearing 50s hop and 60s rock. Music today has lost that emotional feel. The songs I heard going up stirred your soul. Even today I can hear those songs and it will take me back to the first time I heard it what I was doing where I was at and how it made me feel. Music is wonderful and healing when you listen to those classics. God bless
1965 for me... I've had a radio in my head since as far bk as I can remember. I remember watching the Monkees and listening to the radio at the same time. I'm glad I grew up when I did 70s 80s and 90s. The best in music.
I hear that loud and clear. It was around long enough (still is) to play when I lost my wife, my next great girl, the one after that, the woman after her, etc......Love hurts...I know...
RIP Dan McCafferty (lead singer) and Manny Charlton (lead guitarist) who both passed away recently (Dan in November and Manny in July). Nazareth formed in 1968 and have been performing and recording since then. Dan's singing was inspired by primarily Little Richard. He went on to create his own form of screaming, raspy sound that inspired numerous 70s and 80s hard rock and heavy metal singers bands, including giants like AC/DC and Guns N Roses. Listen to Dan shred on uptempo rockers like This Flight Tonight, Bad Bad Boy, Telegram, and don't miss the timeless rock ballad Dream On. Long live Rock N Roll!!!!
Uhm, no: Mike Clink produced Appetite... [Manny Charlton DID record a few demo tracks w/ G 'n' R (circa ?? '85, I think?...( ...but those went unknown and unheard until someone put together that, massive, Appetite... box-set, last year! (2018)] ...but at least you know who Manny Charlton IS, so ...I'm not gonna fault you for that! 😜😋 👍
Sorry but you are wrong Manny Charlton didn't produce Appetite for Destruction Mike Clink who had worked with Triumph produced Appetite for Destruction. Robert John Lange was originally supposed to produce it but when he exceeded the budget Guns n Roses went with Mike.
Dan McCafferty singer of Nazareth, on this tune had a voice like velvet sandpaper. Peel the paint off the walls on the heavy stuff. Give a listen to "This Flight Tonight" and "Miss Misery".
This is so humbling, I always think i can sing, i carry a tune pretty well .....then I hear Dan McCafferty , and I hang up my hat . I notice , in the face, he looks a lot like Mickey Dolenz
Yet another great band from Scotland. Just like Simple Minds that you reacted to the other day. You are right about them singing with heart because in those days the bands were discovered because they had been touring around small places for ages getting their act together. So when you saw them you saw people who knew what they were doing and and could play up a storm live. Yet another great video, keep on rocking man.
My first Rock concert. Nazareth opened for Deep Purple. OKC. Been a Rocker ever since. Love the 70s Rock. 80s, 90s music owe everything to the 70s. Best music ever...
This is a great song and Nazareth has a couple of good tunes but I wouldn't say Scotland has a rich history of providing the rest of the world with great music.
I loved listening to this, didn't have a heartbreak but just loved the voice, the music, the lyrics, it was/is beautiful. I was two years old when Nazareth released this song.
Love Hurts" written and composed by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant was recorded by The Everly Brothers in July 1960 and included in the LP, A Date with The Everly Brothers, released in 1961 on Warner brothers
Saw Nazareth live supporting Ten years after when I was 14 ... instant fan ( they are Scottish ) They recorded this in 1975 ,but was recorded first by the evenly brothers in 1960!
I feel so fortunate that I grew up in the 70's, 80' & 90's. What a time to have lived. Notice how in each musical genre, each musical group had to play an actual instrument, & perform LIVE? Not like today's mucus that's all computer generated, & it seems like all of today's so-called musical performers don't have a damn clue what real music is all about...
It’s Nazareth..like Jesus of Nazareth.. You’ve definitely gotta listen to more Nazareth! They’ve got so many albums..and none of them sound the same as the next.. pretty much any song you choose will be worth the listen. Love hurts and this flight tonight are two of their most over played songs. . Miss misery.. sweetheart tree.. cocain, whiskey drinkin woman.. sunshine, fallen angel.. they have so many hits! this band is legend!
Oh one of my top favorite bands. One of the greatest rock voices. Seen them in concert in 83. So so many great songs...Expect No Mercy, Broken Down Angel. This Flight Tonight, Razamanaz, Kentucky Fried Blues, Please Dont Judas Me, i could go on and on with their great songs...please do more from them. You will love them. They are from Scotland.
Love Nazareth and this is definitely one of their classics. Check out This Flight Tonight also by them. Another great 70's song to check out is Rock Me Gently by Andy Kim. Oh and by the way your doing an awsome job. Thank you.
Loved your reaction to Nazareth.. They are from my home town.. They have given a lot to this town as well as their amazing talent.. Though only one original band member still in the line up he is still touring and performing live gigs age 70+!!.. Really enjoy your show 💫 thanks ☺️
I was a child of the 50. I have heard and seen it all since then. I loved it all! I stopped listening in 2000 to what they are playing now. I am old but I still love my music. Even go into the 30s and 40s. They had some nice music too!
I've loved this song since I was a kid,Way before I knew anything about love! Love his raspy voice & I could hear the hurt in his voice. Thanks for covering this song! Now you gotta check out The best of Bread album. Every song is amazing!!
I’m 61, my sons 20. He gets the older music’s vibe like you do. What I think separates it from the 50s to today’s music is back then, musicians were crafting tunes in unchartered water. There wasn’t a formula to follow. It was about creating rather than imitating and simple tweeting something that we’ve heard before. Great songs are timeless and revered across all genres.
Please don't Judas me is one of the greatest songs of all time. Was fortunate enough to see Nazareth live a Pierres in Fort Wayne Indiana in the early 90s. Totally f*****g rocked original singer totally love it. 👍
Oww my friend I just saw your reaction to José José and then I click on this hevenly piece of art. I remembered my childhood listening this on the road. I always wondered about this solo... is so simple but so beautiful, like waves moving on the coast, Uff! you got my suscription! I'm asking myself who was the asshole who disliked this video.
Dude, I'm a couple of years older than you but I've been listening to a lot of the music you react to for decades thanks to my older siblings and parents. Good music is timeless, for sure. It's awesome to see you react for the first time to music I've loved for years and years because you keep it real and really allow the music to reach you.
this band was one of the groups that got to do a command performance in front of the then quite you Queen Elizabeth.. put that in yer pipe ans smoke ...lol the song Hair of the dog ....will make howl by the way ..lol and........ woke up this morning ......... will make you cry .. well at least it did me when ?I was a kid .... a;always love your reaction so good .. see you next time
YES SO GLAD I WAS BORN IN THE MIDDLE FIFTIES.. HAD MY MUSIC WITH MY MOM MUSIC AND STILL LOVE IT. THEN GREW INTO MY OWN WITH SUCH BEUTIFUL ARTIST ON ALL❤TYPES❤ TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER. I HOPE MORE UNDERSTANDING AND COMPASSION COMES TO ALL.😊OH THE 70S & 80S
You can really go down a rabbit hole with Nazareth. They've got a lot of great songs that didn't necessarily get played on the radio but great none the less. A great band from Scotland.
Something about his voice! This is the Best version of the song IMO, and that's saying something because I really like Roy Orbison, and the Every Brothers too.
This was their first big hit and the first radio station in the country to ever play this song (as the story goes) was KAYC AM in Beaumont, TX. There were listeners in the area that began requesting this from FM stations in Houston and it took off from there. At the height of their fame Nazareth came and played a "Thank You" concert at the tiny 2500 seat Beaumont Civic Auditorium with Styx as the warmup band. I was on the first row and it was awesome. Now, sir, would you please react to "Neither One Of Us" by Gladys Knight and the Pips? I would greatly appreciate it and I think a lot of your audience would as well. Thank you.
Jamel : I love Nazareth . I always thought the singer was Axel Rose's biggest influence . Check out "Hair Of The Dog" . Title song from that Album . "Whatever You Want" and "Razzmatazz" are good songs too . I love your podcast .
Rowena Nunn I'm so glad to see a woman comment here. The song isn't one sided, it's for those who have known real love, but were unable to sustain the height of it. Even after trying again, learn and try again, ...............
Got to see Nazareth live in '83. Wasn't more than 20 feet from the stage and they put on a GREAT show! They were the opening act for Billy Squire (Emotions in Motion tour) and when they finished, it seemed like half the crowd left. Turned out that Billy put on a pretty decent show, too.
I can only hope you can see this. The original was sung by THE GREAT, GREAT ROY ORBISON. Fun fact...when they sing the line LOVE IS LIKE A FLAME, IT BURNS YOU WHEN ITS HOT, Roy's line was actually Love is like a stove, it burns you when its hot. Hey!....check out Roy. Many huge hits to react to
That's a good observation, I was thinking of where this song ranks in my all time favorite rock love songs and I still have to put Fleetwood mac Silver Springs and Led Zeppelin Thank you and even Scorpions Still Loving you ahead of it, but not because is inferior is just different this is easily the best love song of all time but not the most romantic is more like the best song of all time for those that get their heart broken by an ex girlfriend or boyfriend I experience the pain and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone, is like stupid love, you love someone that doesn't love you back very similar to when a man loves a woman, that is straight out stupid love.
LoL, I've never seen this video before. And now I can never unsee it. LoL! Love your reaction, great works always. I love you videos cuz I get to see all kinds of stuff that I've never had exposure to before and you have a real talent for identifying and commenting on good music regardless of the genre. There's a song by a band called The SteelDrivers called sticks that made thunder, you might give it a listen I think you might like it.
I came upon this channel and subscribed immediately. I was born in 1960, grew up listening to and loving all these songs. Hate today's music!!! It's got no soul!!!!! THANK YOU JAMEL_ AKA_ JAMAL!!!!!
I still have this vinyl LP. 1975. It's an old Buddy Holly tune. Nazar'uth'. The lead singer only recently had to retire. He kept passing out while on stage.
Clavicle Notch give him a little slack. He can’t pronounce the name correctly. We all have our flaws. You’re flaw is that you don’t spell correctly. Its spelled “aren’t”
I have listened to this song hundreds of times and I even own the album on CD and this is the first time I have ever seen the video. Heck, I didn't even know there was a video.
